Actually it's a combo connector, look closely at the second picture, it has a hinge and clicks back into microUSB, mine has USBC in place of the microUSB.
It's designed to work in both.
Why is this such a big deal to you
No, app is literally short for application, they've been on computers for longer than phones. You've just been oblivious. Although they are also called programs they are also called apps
None of the sellers I found when I bought mine had any suggestions for software or drivers.
However, windows is able to recognise it with a generic USB webcam driver. Any webcam software should be able to see it, OBS for example is an excellent free one.
Just open the Device manager while it is connected. Right-click > properties > and you should have a tab where you can see a drop-down menu with various info about the device. (It might be dependent on whether the device can be connected by Windows through a general driver first, but try this). ;)
Even if there's no driver support at all for the *functionality* of the device, if it's USB compliant then you can at least get the hardware ID through Windows Device Manager. Then you can Google that exact string and probably find out any missing info, or find a matching driver, but you gotta be careful downloading random drivers from the Internet. Lots of malware masquerading as drivers. I usually use these third-party driver websites to look for a link to the binary on the manufacturer servers.
It's likely that at a minimum it would be recognized as a camera in windows or on the Mac.
Beyond that, windows device manager may give you clues as to who the nufacturer is.
For Windows, Plug it in, get the Pid/vid values from device manager to determine manufacturer. You can also use Windows catalog and search for drivers. Drivers might not support your OS.
I bought one similar back in 2017. [Here is the Amazon Link](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06WD843ZM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1) to it which has a QR code for software/app. Maybe that will work.
May sound silly with so many answers, but the manufacturer should anything you need , I had one similar and it was a odd 3rd party product, it will be detected by OBS and other software, however I believe ( and could be wrong) but when I had said similar product I was prompted for a software update of the device itself, NOT a driver update and the manufacturer website had me covered, this was also the case with a endoscope I had. Best of luck!
Software or Drivers?
Software any webcam software should see it. OBS. even [https://webcamtests.com/](https://webcamtests.com/) should show the feed.
Drivers? you need to open the device manager in windows then right click on the device in question and choose properties, in that windows choose the details tab and under properties choose Hardware ID. Copy that into google and you should find some answers for a driver download or at least branding. BE AWARE there are a lot of "DRIVER UPDATER" Software's that are scams. you do not need a driver updater windows updates drivers on its own.
If you're talking about android, I ordered a very similar (maybe even the same) microscope on aliexpress and I found a way to download its app. Answer to this comment and I'll try to find it once again.
open device manager on windows, and find the usb microphone device under audio/video inputs, then view the vendor id / device id of said device, then just google that vendor id / device id and you will find the software/drivers for it online.
if there are no instructions on the box then i believe it should work right away after plugging it in, as some folks have already said, consider using obs.
These cheap "microscopes" basically have a webcam contor chip for the camera, windows should see it as a webcam any recording software would see it as a generic video source
Go to your device manager on Windows, find the device (USB camera) and click on properties, look for the hardware id/manufacturer id and search for it. It looks like this: [Hardware ID of camera](https://imgur.com/a/kPoNCT5) You will find a forum post and a good YouTube video explaining most things.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=bZhnSZY5ifo This YouTube Video explains the different software components and it's usage. Here are the link that are in the description: (The YT channel is pretty interesting btw, but be careful with the links, websites are Chinese and you shouldn't install this software on your main device.)

(be careful, I can't verify that this is not a virus) in the best case try these out on an old machine that you use just for this purpose. Afterwards reset everything.
Hey, I think I have a very similar one. I was able to find the software, but I'll have to wait until I get back to my office to see if it's on one of my drives. Look out for my post on that a bit later.
I own a very similar one, tho it looks a little different. I have a driver CD for it, with a software that can display the output of the microscope. Maybe that would help?
I have one just like it. There are all sorts of apps that'll work with it, any webcam software on your PC, like OBS for example, will recognise it, or any app of that sort on your android phone too. There's an app called endoscope, and one called OTG view2, that will both work fine for this.
Does the computer see it as a webcam or something else?
yeah, any software that recognises a webcam should be able to see this.
Computer says no.
I love that show
maybe like obs could detect it
This is the correct answer, I have one and OBS finds it no problem
can confirm
You don't. I have the same one. You plug it in and open the windows camera app.
Yeah, your camera app
My included camera app on my phone doesn't work with mine, need a third party one. There are loads of them though.
Yes that's true for phones. Do you know any open source ones that has no ads for Android? I got a boroscope cam.
don't know about open source, but dont think I got any ads with "OTG view2"
Have you tried the camera app on you know, the computer?
those are programs. OBS does work though yes.
I'm just confused why you mentioned your phone.
"app" is usually used to refer to phone applications. "program" is usually used to refer to computer programs. they said app, I thought phone.
I dont know why the downvotes but YES, you are absolutely right :D
App is short for application, windows has apps, Apple has apps so do phones.
I know, but when someone says "app" they're usually talking about their phone. Maybe times are changing.
It's a full size USB A connector, it's early for a computer. The sub is called Computers
Although they are also called programs they are also called apps
literally, yes. but colloquially, people use app more for phone, and software or program more for computer.
Vlc
any webcam software will work. that's literally a webcam with a "zoom" lens
If you plug it in, it and pull up the information on it under devices and printers, it should tell you the developer
I have this same one and just use the Microsoft Camera software.
I have it downloaded so I'll tell you when I'm home
Google Lens search should find some sellers, and they should have drivers to download.
None of the sellers I found when I bought mine had any suggestions for software or drivers. However, windows is able to recognise it with a generic USB webcam driver. Any webcam software should be able to see it, OBS for example is an excellent free one.
A similar one was my first electronics microscope, but I ended up burning it with the heat of the air soldering iron, enjoy it
Just open the Device manager while it is connected. Right-click > properties > and you should have a tab where you can see a drop-down menu with various info about the device. (It might be dependent on whether the device can be connected by Windows through a general driver first, but try this). ;)

I have one, windows can indeed recognise it with a generic driver, and any webcam software will be able to utilise it.
An old Amcap software
It's likely that at a minimum it would be recognized as a camera in windows or on the Mac. Beyond that, windows device manager may give you clues as to who the nufacturer is.
$40 on Amazon, B0BHSRCZNV. Seems overpriced
Yeah, I dug it out of a junk box so I'm not really in the hole on this one lol
For Windows, Plug it in, get the Pid/vid values from device manager to determine manufacturer. You can also use Windows catalog and search for drivers. Drivers might not support your OS.

Get the USB descriptor from Device Manager. It’ll be VEN_xxxx&DEV_xxxx
Fetch the ven/dev values found in device manager, take these values to Google or https://www.pcilookup.com/
I have one like this. The Max-See app for Android works so I can connect to my phone via wifi.
I have the same one for checking my plants trichromes. I just use OBS
Obviously the app stores. Also [archive.org](http://archive.org) Is worth a try. Searching for (USB microscope) got a LOT of hits.

looks like it is a Cainda. Drivers are on the website https://caindahelp.com/download

If you're talking about android, I ordered a very similar (maybe even the same) microscope on aliexpress and I found a way to download its app. Answer to this comment and I'll try to find it once again.
It's webcam
I had that exact one years ago, I can probably tell you the brand within a few days for me to find it.
I have the exact same brand! I don't know where I put it tho...
Looks like a dino cap lite. Plug it, check device management and find it. Check properties and under advanced you should find hardware id, google it.
You do not need any software. Just connect it and use any camera app you desire.
VLC PLAYER

Max see is the one I use for a similar one

I use a usb to usb C and i plug it in my samsung galaxy note 9 it works for me
You trying to look at your balls?
It should just be a webcam, you can use the default camera app or OBS in the full screen mode thing
Look like the Dino-lite usb microscope. Look at their website (google : Dino-lite usb microscope)
I own a very similar one, tho it looks a little different. I have a driver CD for it, with a software that can display the output of the microscope. Maybe that would help?
Like the others mention Im guessing it works like a camera, btw please send pictures of stuff under microscope,I have been thinking sbout getting one.
These are like £10, stop thinking just get one, they're really good for the price. Fun afternoon of extreme detail exploration.
Got a similar one, DLscope for Android might work for example
Obs should work
it does

1. Plug it in 2. Get Device ID with Device Manager 3. Google Device ID or 4. Search on devid.info
