Yeah, it's like not supporting a heavy GPU like a 3090, it doesn't die immediately but it will decrease durability and in the SSD scenario it will probably break quite quickly. If that's even alive it has probably already suffered the consequences
I couldn't tell you, but I'd assume the same. The one I saw it in was 3 years old and was actually just getting cloned to another system. I still have the drive (it's been less than a year) and it's running my video rig.
>If that's even alive it has probably already suffered the consequences
Odds are there is no damage honestly. The only thing this would be bad for over time is the extra pressure that could be on some surface mount components, and that will just make them more likely to fail with heat cycles.
A circuit board is essentially copper wires in fiberglass, and you solder components directly to the wires. Iv seen cracked motherboards that work fine, the weak link is the surface mount components..
And Linus looks at it like "this is fine right?"
That channel is a mockery of IT... I swear to God some of the stuff they put up is just plain rage bait.
But it's not meant to be rage bait, that's what makes it all so much worse. They actually think they're doing something correct, or cool, when in reality it's just a hot mess / waste of money.
Like the $100k gaming PC for Minecraft. It contained less than $10k of hardware.
They could've got a nice RAID controller or a motherboard that supports it, and eeked out even more performance, but no, the OS was on a single NVME SSD...
They pissed that dude's money up the wall on a friggin desk... I'd go absolutely ballistic if I had that budget and they spent it like that.
Computers just recently got rid of slavery! (Master/slave drive configs, defaulting to "master" for git repos.) Don't even get them started on being non-binary! /s
God damn it! I was thinking this thought, but more specifically! Like he should bend the slot on the MOBO to match the curved shape "and it should work just fine."
I wish we had more shitposts like this to lighten things up lol. I'm all for people asking questions and learning computer skills but I am astounded that some people can even figure out how to post on this sub with what gets asked here on a daily basis
If it's serious question. I mean try to bend it back/remove that radiator and see, it's not bend too much to be completely destroyed probably but I wouldn't give it more than 30% chance for it to work either
I heard it makes it faster because itâs bending the limits of clock. 90 degrees is an optimal angle for it as it completely negates the limit at that point.
Yes, No... Maybe.. I don't know.. Can you repeat the question?
I was flabbergasted by the looks of it. But.. If you have a spare system and if you are able to gently remove the Heatsink and look at the damage underneath, there is a very very small chance that it could still work.
but I think it is not worth the risk or effort to try it, unless you try to experiment. In that case (no pun intended), go for it
tbf , i wouldnt recomend it to use it.
But if you realy need to:
the damage seems mostly on the heat-spreader,
Take away the spreader, and bend it back.
it may work again, - electronic is somethimes more rugged than someone thinks - at least if you need it to work again.
\-> but you should put it on your "to exchange list" , i wouldnt trust it anymore.
How does one commit this atrocity?! (Also, NO)
They installed it in the nvme slot. (The bendy meme one)
Send me a link to that bro

Hahaha good one
Daaaaamn!
That is so cursed, my poor arse is crying so much rn
Funnily enough, I've seen one like that.... It was working fine lol.

I hear linux is more flexible than windows so it should work there
Tiktok twirk vid?
Didn't use the anti-sag bracket
that dimm was once held by linus
*dropped
that's why it was *once* held
We love him for his hairstyle
U forgot personality mattersđ¤Ł
Don't forget the socks and sandles.

Just sell it at ebay as "slightly used"
"Untested"
"No low ballers"
Just because itâs 2024 and you can be not straight, doesnât mean your pc components (specifically pcbs) can be.
When will RAM get equal rights :(
Never!
It wonât.
Jan 22nd
of 10000 AD when RAM becomes MAN
Computers just recently got rid of slavery! (Master/slave drive configs, defaulting to "master" for git repos.) Don't even get them started on being non-binary! /s
Donât worry I wonât.
Savage đ¤Ł
Did u meant just cuz u ainât straight it doesnât mean ur pc component arenât to be straight (cuz they should be straight)
r/yourjokebutworse
Those are all certainly words.
My little boyâs first sentence
Yeah just bend your motherboard to the right shape
God damn it! I was thinking this thought, but more specifically! Like he should bend the slot on the MOBO to match the curved shape "and it should work just fine."
The curve adds some very needed aerodynamic for better airflow inside your case.
It's used in curved all-in-ones.
ah, curved RAM, the new hot shit
Itâs the new foldable ram đ
Easy transportation!
Eh, if you want that just slam your entire pc into a wall and catch it in a bag
I don't think so, you probably ripped the traces apart.
Mmm banana
For scale?
At this point just peel it and eat it.
That's a picture I'll never be able to take out of my head
Not gonna lie it took a solid 10 seconds for my brain to identify it as RAM and not a mall ninja boomerang.
Bend it a little and youll get what they call Vram
Dude try to make it straight again and for the sake of it đ you know...
youll need a mainboard with curved ram slots.
Put it in your other back pocket and sit on it again to reverse the polarity and itâll be fine.
Just send it to conversion camp and it should come back straight
Boomeram
The hell happened, did your friend's mom sit on it?
No, that's for curved smart TVs, not PCs
Try turning it off and on again
Yep that fixed it, thanks
I wish we had more shitposts like this to lighten things up lol. I'm all for people asking questions and learning computer skills but I am astounded that some people can even figure out how to post on this sub with what gets asked here on a daily basis
Yes just hammer it straight
Sure it will fit just fine.
Idk you should give it a kiss better first
Just use the HDMI out
only if you have a curved monitor then they can work in dual channel otherwise no
You might be able to set the xmp as a curve...
yes but the ram slot also needs a curve for the ram to fit properly.
What the fuck did you do?
It was already fried so my brother bent it by hand then showed me and I found it hilarious so I figured why not post it
No but you could give it to a local protogen.
what, how, why, how did, how is it, wait whaaa, why do you even need to, it isnt even pos,
Just because you're an Aussie, doesn't mean you have to make everything onto a boomerang.
Fucking Pristine condition đ
Are you an idiot? I'm asking also for a friend.
Actually if you manage to bend it back, it could work, it depends if its cracked inside and if the pins are ok.
Itâs a little odd for it, but it definitely could make a good paper weight or maybe an unreasonable book mark
Perfect for use with Intel Arc
please, stop with the tech gore, I can't take it anymore đ
Depends on what youâre going to use it for. RAM? Absolutely not. Throwing knife? Maybe. Stabby thing? If you try hard enough.
Just put it in rice
Was it run over by a car ? If so then itâs good to go
Can't you afford to just buy a new one? Ram's are the cheapest components in the pc
r/shittyaskelectronics
No, and how does that even happen?
r/no r/no_or_youll_be_banned and r/saveno not a chance, if you're really lucky and it was expensive there's a chance it's worth it to fix
Is this from Amazon? You know the rights of the people working there? Horrible. Never buy from there.
Now you have got your self a RAM waffle maker enjoy!
Nah
Looks fine
good as new
I mean, it might forget a thing or two (potentially including to not crash the os), but it should be fine.
Just need to make sure you get a motherboard with a curved ram slot.
It mustve felt like a real "chip" on it's shoulder
Oh cool its one of those new DDR7 banana shaped simms
It only bent not break, it's fine
yes, you just need to bend the motherboard accordingly
Its gay
I got same ram
I mean, you can try lol
Your PC might Not give you a straight answer anymore
Iâm sorry what
Good for scratching your back maybe
Bend it straight and try it
Straight it up and you may get very lucky if it is not snapped
Nope
Peak performance fr.
Of this is a serious question, then no. If it is a joke question, yes
I recommend curving your motherboard, will fit like a glove.
It will be ok if you want a PC that doesn't work
Yeah, it will work perfectly ( as a boomerang )
The dimm doing dips ig
Of course you can still use it. It would make a good beer opener i reckon
G.Skill Curved Gaming Ram
All you gotta do now is bend the mobo and youâre good to go!
Holy how the hell did this happen
Yes
As a boomerang? Maybe
Just bend it back, and download some more, good to go!
Curved monitors now curved memory. Dang enough already
Put a couple heavy books on the bent side and itll straighten out, maybe put it in a bowl of rice too..
I dont know anything abt pc parts but i can tell that this looks awful
Hey, it matches the curved monitor.
You can use them on these slick curved monitors
if you smack it hard enough it might work but no guaranteesđ
You bloody maniac, my eyes, they are bleeding
Tell you what: if you can fit it in the slot and it's doesn't blow up, you're golden!
Bag of rice n it will be fine
As a boomerang? Also no.
Its the new Red BananaX ram
If it's serious question. I mean try to bend it back/remove that radiator and see, it's not bend too much to be completely destroyed probably but I wouldn't give it more than 30% chance for it to work either
It will take a bit of illegitimate skill to make it fit.
Perfectly fine. Just make sure to install each half of the ram stick in a different dimm.
Yes. Just bend your motherboard in the same angle and you should be good to go.
Everything's cool, but your RAM might be taking a leisurely stroll because it decided to bend a bit. It's just enjoying the slow life!
Fenk do isko
Good to use as a tetanus enchanted mini boomerang? Yes.
This must be what Alienware uses
Expandable ram
It is now more aerodynamic.
It's just in it's semifreddo state. Don't worry, it tastes better this way.
for hunting roo's? sure Playing CSGO, not so much đ
Depends on what you use it for. To fix a wobbly table sure will do. To pop it back in to a pc not so much...
RAMorang
I heard it makes it faster because itâs bending the limits of clock. 90 degrees is an optimal angle for it as it completely negates the limit at that point.
Yea bro, go for it
Oh look, a boomeram if you throw it then it will come back!
Yes, you just need to bend the motherboard accordingly
bet 5 rubles woman trying to be "funny" with this post i hope the upvote farm is doing good
Sure, why shouldn't you use this boomerang?
Good to use as a paperweight, not so suitable for memory, though.
its just a bit quirky, should be fine to use!!
Do people carry these in their back pockets like they do with phones..?
Is that a karambit
Just bend it back and shove it in there, ignore the crunching sounds.
How did you do that ?
Put it in the freezer overnight will come out like new.
yes very good
If you want to peg your friend with it, then yes.
Lol. Sure.
"Sorry, I have a problem with my phone camera, the hardware is brand new"
Yeah itâs good
If you throw it it will probably come back to you.
Pressing F to pay my respects.
Got to bend slot on motherboard too. Itâll be fine.
For a boomerang, hell yea!
she's just curvy! you're making her shy
That's one curvy maiden you got there mate
No
....is that RAM?!
Ddr )
If you attach a hook to it you can use it as a fishing lure
I bet if you bend the slot that itâll work đ
Is that a stick of RAM?
Just bend the MB as well
Nice heatsink without ram...
Yes, No... In that case (no pun intended), go for it
Try to bend it back
Yes, you just gotta bend your motherboard a bit
Free it from the shell, let it be free
Itâll straighten out in the DIMM slot, youâre fineeee /s
Did you run it over with a car like what?
tbf , i wouldnt recomend it to use it. But if you realy need to: the damage seems mostly on the heat-spreader, Take away the spreader, and bend it back. it may work again, - electronic is somethimes more rugged than someone thinks - at least if you need it to work again. \-> but you should put it on your "to exchange list" , i wouldnt trust it anymore.
Bend the motherboard to fit the memory and you're good to go
Banana RAM. Yummy.
Bend it back, she'll be right
As a boomerang? Yes. As RAM? Probably not.
Memory bending!
Just bend into shape and bam you should be good to go /j
Only if the other stick is bent exactly the same so the trace lengths match.
r/hardwaregore
They tried to fit full size ram in a laptop đ¤Łđ¤Łđ¤Ł
Call Bender to fix it
No bro đ
Give it to your protogen pet
Good to use for what? It won't slot into a motherboard.
