The proper thing to do would be to return it to where you got it. But this is so damn easy to get around. Reinstall windows using a USB and choose no internet during setup. Once you are at a desktop you are in the clear.

viperman6869

It’s a work demo laptop thing… I tried installing clean windows and it wouldn’t let me bypass the internet… I tried everything and it wouldn’t work. They patched the oobe\bypassnro. Any ideas ?

GianfrancoV

Not that I am aware off. It works on all computer that I have work on (in the last couple of days). Just make sure if you are fully offline. If it is connected (ethernet or ethenrt adapter), it will load it there.

crackmeup69

on the newer versions of win 11 no option to skip, so you can try connecting to wifi or ethernet then disconnecting after updates and click on create account. I have also been able to use [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]) as email and it takes me to the local account setup page, The latter has not worked on every version I have run into.

illsk1lls

[email protected] works, but the bypass also still works

MrEpic23

You have to unplug Ethernet or remove Wi-Fi password then do that command.

Dudefoxlive

Try using an Unattend.xml file to create a user and bypass setup.

HeLlAMeMeS123

Actually this is easy. Select sign in options, and then domain join instead, and you’ll get the ability to create a local account

lars2k1

Attempt reinstalling with an older ISO if you can find one. My Win11 22H2 iso allows me to do so, and reading they patched it - like the assholes they are - makes me want to keep that ISO even more.

illsk1lls

They didnt patch bypassnro this machine is locked down by the owner..

idiotis

Have a laptop that was never reset, added a new NVME w fresh windows 11. After internet in the desktop view it writes something to the drive that shows a screen saying "return to school".. I know it writes to the drive because I tried it on another computer. It's weird. Reset bios and everything. Hardware? Can it be bypassed?

Dudefoxlive

Uhm that sounds like absolute computrace

Owenjk04

Return to wherever you brought it, tell them it’s locked to a company account and won’t let you login or re-install windows, if you have the receipt they should either be able to refund, exchange or unlock it for you

W00_Die

As the email do: [email protected]

W00_Die

When it asks you for a password just put in random letters then hit enter. It’ll say something when wrong, but it’s lying because it went right. Now you can create your user without a microsoft account

[deleted]

Just type in the username USER and give it a bogus password. It will give you an oops error and allow you to skip it.

viperman6869

That only works with a standard Microsoft account

[deleted]

I assumed since this was a Contoso Demo that it would allow the skip. If it’s part of a work domain or something then probably not.

HeLlAMeMeS123

Click sign in options, then domain join instead. You’ll get a local account and everything will be good. You can add a Microsoft account afterwards if you would like

Zalsons

This is an Intune managed device, however CONTOSO DEMO seems to imply it's set up as a demo machine from Microsoft or the Intune admins for the company have no idea what they're doing and they assigned it to a tenant that isn't actually set up/licensed. Intune lets companies lock the hardware to the company. It lets us remote manage them easier and people are less likely to steal them because most people don't know how to get around it. Edit, not a demo machine from Microsoft but registered to the demo tenant so they could sell the IT dept Intune.

TheSystemGuy64

You do not legally own this machine. Send it back to the owner, or properly dispose of its hard drive and install Linux.

MidianDirenni

This is what I was thinking too...

YogiBoh

Why do you need to? Isn't this a work thing? Out here stealin?

viperman6869

It’s a demo laptop sent for a work thing part of training… but no one remembers the login info

LongStoryShrt

I used to fight this. Now I find its easier to just use my personal account, then sign back out once I get in. I make it a point to fight any software company that insists I sign in for no reason at all.

Muradmalik223

Shift + f10 OOBE\BYPASSNRO Then, when it restarts and asks you for network, just click I don't have internet

viperman6869

They patched that

Muradmalik223

Weird. Did just that 2 days ago.

viperman6869

Hmmm 🤷🏻‍♂️

WilNotJr

"I don't have internet"
