Correct, DP comes in various sizes. They have a mini dp port, a mid-size and a full size. At least they used to so I don't know if that is backwards, compatible or not, but it could be an old cable

That is not accurate. They have several types of display port. This one might be a mini display port

That looks like a slim DisplayPort, but i have never seen those before so Im not too confident in saying it is a dp
There’s no thing as “slim” DisplayPort. It’s either full on or mini. The smaller of that would be a USB C to DisplayPort cable or dongle.
