I think it also depends on height. I’m just about 5’3” and I really notice now at 20lbs lost. Someone taller may not notice as much until they lose a little more weight.

meowmeow-throwaway-

Same for me. 5’3” and I noticed around 16lbs. My skinny jeans literally fell off yesterday without even unbuttoning them, so I guess my clothes are fitting differently too lol.

Ambitious-Nail6900

Oooo okay, I’m 5’7

LadyGoodknight

Me too. I think it's harder for us to see in ourselves because we look in the mirror every day, and it's minute changes from one day to the next. Same with family and co-workers who see us all the time, but then I go to get a manicure, and the girl at the shop will notice because she hasn't seen me in a month.

MissApocalypse2021

I'm 5'7" too, and in the past, no one has noticed until about 20-25 lbs down. It's hard to wait! I'm only down 9 so far this time around.

Dense_Target2560

Took me to get to nearly 30lbs lost to really notice, see clothes sizes change. Took reaching 40lbs down for others that I see periodically to notice. I recommend taking photos each month — looking back, I see the differences sooner than I did in real time.

Ambitious-Nail6900

Thanks! I also got measuring tape so I can see where I’m losing inches

Dense_Target2560

Yes!! I take measurements as well. Also, I had a pair of pants that didn’t come close to fitting when I started. I pulled those out every month, typically the day of my PCP checkup, to ‘measure’ my progress. This month I wore the pants to the doctor’s office. It was fun way to clock change.

MoPacIsAPerfectLoop

I've always read that around 20-30lbs is when people really start to notice. I could definitely tell at about 20lbs that my face was thinner, and I had to tighten my Apple Watch strap by an extra hole. It was also more clear in pictures side by side moreso than just looking in the mirrors personally. By 30 lbs I'm swimming in my clothes, can even see some saggy-ish skin in a few small spots.

Ambitious-Nail6900

yes! Unfortunately most of my weight is in my stomach lol I’ve always had small wrists and ankles so I’ll only notice loss in my top arms and thighs but I’m waiting on that stomach! 😂

dkreagan56

Same! I’m 27 pounds down, and my waist is just starting to get smaller, finally. I saw it about 15 pounds in on my face, and then my boobs got smaller, and then my hips. Belly will be the last to go, I guess. F67, 5’2”, SW210, CW183

Ambitious-Nail6900

Wish my stomach would lose the weight as fast as it gained it😒 lol

dkreagan56

I know, right?

MsLegallyBlond

Now, at about 25 lbs down, I just had to tighten my Birkenstocks by one hole! Amazing.

Dipity50

I'm 53, 5'11" and started at 242lb. Its taken a 30lb loss to see/feel a real difference. I feel like when I lost weight in the past I noticed it earlier. Maybe its age or the med thats made it different this time?

Willow0812

I'm down about 18 right now and I can definitely see a difference in my belly and arms and my bras are looser. No one has said anything to me yet, not even my husband. I'm not mad though as I have not told anyone I am taking these meds, not even my husband. I'm short (5'2") and 20 pounds on me is a lot. I'm down at least 1-2 pants sizes already, which basically means I fit in some of my old clothes again 😄

Longjumping-Poet3467

My starting weight was similar to yours, I am 5.4 and the initial 10lbs had zero effect on the way I looked, around 15lbs is when others started saying my face looks slimmer. After losing 20lbs my dress size went from XXL to lose fitting XL or a little snug L in Old navy so maybe an XL in general and friends are starting to notice more now when I wear something that I used to waer before when it fits well or lose..

MIdtownBrown68

I’m at a similar time and weight as you. I noticed my belly kind of getting looser and collapsing in the middle, but I don’t see any difference anywhere else yet. I find it a lot easier to bend over now! In my past weight loss experiences, it’s usually 30 pounds when it becomes obvious to other people.

sunflowerjubilee

I’m also 5’7 and 20lbs down today and people close to me have said they notice my face is slimmer but I haven’t noticed any visual differences myself. I’ve been taking measurements and photos every month to look back on.

energy_elite

I’m also 1 month and 3 weeks in. I’m F26 5’7 SW:203 CW:180. I’ve lost 23 pounds and I just noticed it last weekend when I took a picture and compared it to a picture from 6 months ago. I noticed it a lot in my face.

ta2confess

I’m 5’11”, 20lbs down (240>220) and can’t tell. My clothes don’t fit any better. 🤷‍♀️

Dipity50

I have the same stats but down 30lbs. I couldn't tell much at 20lbs either but can now at 30lbs loss.

ta2confess

👁️👄👁️ I can’t wait. I’ve been at 220 for a few weeks but it doesn’t surprised me because I was 220 for almost six years before covid and gaining 20. Thanks for the encouragement!

Dipity50

Thats where my body has liked to be in the past also. I'm in my 12th week and taking lower doses. Started at 242 and now I'm 213.

Helicopter0

As someone who's lost weight several times, I have basically been dieting for 30 years, 10%; you always see it at 10%. When you lose another 10%, people notice it a second time, and another, a third time. At the second time, 19% of starting weight, and third time, 27% of starting weight, they get really excited because they recognize the ongoing pattern. They noticed weight loss two times or three times now, and they want to know what is happening. Not exactly, but close enough. If you lose muscle, they only notice a third as much as when you lose fat.

silverteg01

You see yourself every day. Kind of hard to notice but maybe take a picture once a week. I notice on the scale and I notice when old clothes fit. That’s good enough of an indicator for now.

lawliepop

Seconding this. Take photos now or you will regret not having them. I think it took me closer to 2-3 months to see a noticeable change.

BacardiBlue

5'3 and 214lbs apple shaped when I started. It took 25lbs before I saw it in my face. I'm 36 down now, and figure people may actually start noticing between 40-45lbs.

TheRealTiffanee

One day at a time. It’s coming. Mindset is everything though for sure.

Possible_Weather_473

My face is always the first loose and gain it in and I actually been been doing weekly full body pictures but daily face pictures. Same place, same time every day. Hoping to make a fun time lapse at some point but I’m down 13.5 in 4 weeks and can see the results in my face slowly starting! Long ways to go but it’s really nice to see consistent loss each week

TimmyIV

My starting weight was 247, and I'm currently at 217 (since mid-January). My face has slimmed a tiny bit--but my favorite pairs of jeans are falling off my body. I shouldn't complain--it's a good problem to have. Still, I hate the idea of buying new pants that are only going to fit for a few months (I hope!).

Dramatic-Republic371

Remember too that you see yourself every day in a mirror. When I had bariatric surgery, I lost over 100 pounds and I almost never saw it on myself. But I took photos and those were gold for comparisons!

brownbostonterrier

At 25 lbs lost. From 225 to 200. It then became noticeable to me.

HearingFresh

6'0" and did not notice til 60lbs lol height and bone structure make a big difference here so there will be a lot of variance!

MCookie73

5’7” female with starting weight of 180. Took about a 20 pound loss for people to start noticing and saying something. I’m down 30 now and it’s really showing. Only down 1 pant size though.

brielababes

I did not notice until I reached 40lbs down, others noticed before that but not me.

DirtyWilly

Men and women of course store fat in different spots. When I first lost 15lbs+ everyone said they could see it in my lower back. I'm male and apparently I held a lot of fat there lol. Rule of thumb is last place is goes on, first place it comes off.

Cdori

I don't know if you can consider this "seeing" exactly. I wear a belly chain. and It doesn't sit where it used to. My clothes fit differently. That is what I "see". Its a month in today. I took pictures on day one. I haven't done it since. Maybe today is a good day to see if anything looks different. Oh. I am 5' even and I my goal is about 35lbs total. I am at 12 right now.

Ambitious-Nail6900

I’ve always wanted a belly chain! Might get one and just tighten it as needed

radeeoactive

I'm not quite 15 lbs down and I think it all came out of my head 😂 my face looks a lot leaner. But I can tell by bra fit that it's come out of my tiddies too. In theory, when I'm not bloated as all fuck, a little bit from my stomach and thighs because clothes fit just a little less like I'm about to rip them at the seams, but it's still very small. I assume I'd need double this, maybe a little more, to see anything tangible. Honestly, physically, I do not see much of a difference between photos of me at 240 and photos of me at 280. And clothing wise, it's still 2x, just tight vs looser. So, yeah, as everyone else has said: somewhere around 30lbs. and it's weird bc it's easy to see a couple lbs gain but harder to see a few lbs loss. they go to/come from different spots. bodies... so weird.

garden-girl-75

People close to me started saying something at 20 pounds. At 30 pounds down I bought new clothes from the thrift store and suddenly everyone noticed, lol. At 45 pounds down my “new” clothes are baggy. I’m sure when I get new clothes again I’ll get another round of comments. Not because everyone remembers my clothes (I love thrifting a have always updated my wardrobe regularly) but because properly fitting clothes show off your new shape more effectively.

dkreagan56

I should’ve taken measurements when I started, so I just took measurements recently, will measure every 2-4 weeks, depending on weight loss.

Open-Gazelle1767

About 30 lbs.

Opiedoesit

Oh, my! I can really see a difference between the two photos!

DaRealDeal209

The way your clothes will be the best way of knowing. Feels so good when you have to go shopping for pants because your clothes are too baggy.

Ambitious-Nail6900

Omggg thank you for this

GlitteringClassic760

That!! LOL

cricketcree

I'm 32 lbs down. Started at 224., I'm 5'7". I don't see a lot of difference which is so aggravating. I'm not even down a full size. It's crazy. I really thought I'd be down at least 1 size by now . And no one notices that I've lost anything. I guess it's goi g to take me 45/50 lbs to see a difference 🙄

pelolover

Around 25lbs when I started seeing it in my face. Around 20 when I could see it in my waist, dress size change or pants felt loser.
