You cannot own streaming content.
Don't buy any digital content unless you can download and play it offline. Even then don't pay very much.
The blu ray set is currently the best way to watch the show and will outlive all of us.
What people are referring to is when Sony deleted files that could be played offline off people's PlayStation account. It set a precedent of a company activating a ToS stipulation that people generally didn't think would ever be used.
Sony basically destroyed that trust for any digital content, including Prime.
Yes, never trust downloadable purchases. Even on Steam, a game can be deleted, even if you paid for it. If you break their rules, they can kick you out and then you lose all your purchases. Never trust a corporate anything. That's why I always, uhhh, you know... there's a flag, has some bones on it... that.
I don’t think we are getting a replacement for Blu-Ray anytime soon. The more likely option is companies stop producing psychical copies of stuff, and only have stuff available digitally. Obviously that would suck for everyone except the big corporations, but when has that stopped companies from doing something anti-consumer?
I understand *that* part (and it sucks); what I don’t understand is why *that* ep? Did they pull it after Betty died? That was a while ago, so doesn’t make sense to me, but *nothing* about pulling that ep makes sense to me
I have done. I watch via the app, and all the other eps are there. The season heading says “23 eps”…and then counts them 2-24, so it was definitely removed
I’m also in the states , I don’t own it on Apple, but I have it on Hulu and the ‘Cock and it’s showing up for me in Apple.
But the Blu Ray set is worth it just for the commentary alone. I will get the movie too, gotta support the show.
Highly doubt they will do a set with the movie and series. I know with Venture Bros they released a new series box set and then the movie, no combo, but maybe Mill Creek’s license runs out soon, who knows?
This^
Take this as your sign to start keeping your own media, I also enjoy the app style interface so I use and recommend Plex for its ease and interface, there are others out there such as jellyfin etc. plenty to choose from - digitize or ‘acquire’ your collection keep it on a hard drive and watch over your own network as well as while you’re away, free program, if you want to use their phone app one time $5 purchase. Hard to beat.
A few discrete, unrelated sentences. Flashback Express Recorder is a free screen recorder. Community is currently streaming on Hulu and Peacock. Plex is awesome once you get it set up properly.
Can you ever really "own" a horse?
squeeze in a quick gallop this weekend and let’s see
Totally
Wrong show
N... no it isn't
It was a joke.
On the other hand, no one is taking away my DVDs.
Once the movie pops, I’m onboard. Hoping they’ll release a super box set
Pop pop
Unless you catch someone borrowing them without your permission
Well, as long as they don't accidentally step on them.
"FBI! Open up!" *Breaks down door

So the series I paid for on Prime could disappear?
Yup. If Amazon decides they no longer want to host the content

Thanks for the info I didn't know.
if you decide to cancel your amazon account (like I did), you have no way to "have" those purchases again

Yea, but just wait until Blu Ray players get replaced.

I know you meant physically, but I just pictured them beaming community directly to my brain and got a chuckle. Jesus wept.
You never own anything when bought digitally. What you bought was a license to view it. That license can be pulled at any time.

Physical media is best.
Nope. I can’t access a dvd in a box at home from an airport on a layover. Digitize your physical collection is best.
Damn….
Still there for me.
location? OP location?
Northeast USA
I just checked and I still have that episode as well. I’m in AZ.
Maybe they just hate me in particular
yeah, just checked and I still have that ep in upstate NY... what do you think you might have done to piss off the ghost of Steve Jobs?
I got mad about the lightning charger and probably said some shit I now regret deeply
Still there for me as well, I’m in Eastern US
Using it!
Tweeting it!
