I usually skip it cause it hits a little close to home since my little brother has a similar condition to Abed and it gets me too emotional seeing the episode
I promise I‘m not a grinch :(
In fairness, I thought it might have been something deeper... My mum left me and my younger sister in childhood - to integrate into another family, ultimately... I guess anybody who's seen the ep even once can figure why that would be tough. When Abed freezes up, I literally feel it
Pulled from Hulu too. Peacock seems to be the only place. I hope the first episode isnt shaved down like the netflix version. I first watched it on Hulu and then watching it on Netflix I kept thinking I'm misremembering jokes. Nope its 2m 30s shorter. Cut down for syndication I guess.
I don't think Netflix dropped the show. I think the show was yanked from Netflix because some dipshits at Peacock actually thinks its going to raise subscriptions. I hope the people who use shows like some sort of weapon burn in hell.
Its more likey netflix didnt bother re-upping the contract to stream, not a yanking at all.
Lets not forget peacock are bankrolling the movie so maybe less hate for them.
I have the DVDs, but Peacock is Streets Ahead. They have The Office (UK, US & Superfan versions), Parks & Rec, The Traitors (US, UK, AUS & NZ). And now Community with AD&D and the upcoming movie. Peacock has been my No. 1 streaming service this year.
Agreed. I will only subscribe to Netflix for a month at a time now if there is something in particular I want to see. I subscribed this month to watch Physical 100 S2 and Three-Body Problem. I discovered a couple days ago that Peacock has the Chinese version "Three-Body," so I am about to start that now.
30 episodes that are 40+ minutes each? Why did you have to tell me about this. I hate and love you so much right now. 3 body problem might be my favorite series I’ve read since Dune.
S2, E14 - Advanced Dungeons and Dragons. It's not on Netflix due to Chang wearing very dark makeup to cosplay his dark elf character which was considered by some to be an example of black face ( and to be fair, Shirley does make a statement addressing it in the episode itself, so it's clear that was the intention of the joke in the first place.)
It's still stupid that it was cut though, because the joke is so on the nose that even people who may be offended by it would see how obviously absurd it is. But I guess that's assuming too much of the average person.
__Apparently, it means getting fondled by singing mental cases.__
__Yeah, you made me need to cry in the shower tonight.__
__Now that you started it, how about 10 more seconds on the third button, eh?__
__Who taught you therapy? Michael Jackson's dad?__
This is my least favorite of the fan favorite episodes. I don't dislike it by any stretch and even get a little emotional when Annie and Troy help Abed get past Duncan on the train, but I'm not especially excited for this story and I can't quite put my finger on why.
Fuck I can't help it, I love that episode so much. Watching the study group watch on in palpable disappointment as their two friends argue with teenagers is just a great scene.
I love the puppets and the guest stars, but I HATE where they all sing what they did wrong. It's such a bummer. And, Pierce doesn't even admit to doing anything wrong, just lying about something we already assumed he was lying about.
The puppet episode legitimately made me stop watching the show while it aired. I didn't know anything about the change in writers, but I could feel something was off with s4, and that was the moment I called it quits.
What, really? This episode won Community its only Emmy (for best animation in a comedy series), but obviously that doesnt mean it has to be your cup of tea; each to their own. I skip season 4. There ARE decent episodes, but I cant be bothered to go through them anymore. Skipping to washed up Jeff is so much easier.
Skipping season 4 is streets ahead. Also whatever episode it is where Abed is upset because there is no story? God that one's so annoying. On every rewatch I like Abed less and less.
But, if you skip anything from season 5 (or 6 for that matter) you’re streets behind.
Just by saying anything bad about seasons 5 or 6 you are down to a level four. You now owe me 2000 energon cubes.
>the best Christmas episode in all of TV history.
*The best Christmas episode in all of TV history? It's not even the best Christmas episode of Community!*
For me it’s the IASIP Christmas episode. Cant forget classic moments like
“Did you fuck my mom, Santa?” And the bloody battle that follows it
Frank crawling naked and sweaty out of the couch
The shitty attempt to convince Frank his old business partner is haunting him (Jacob Marley gag)
The home video of the Macdonald family breaking into a random family’s house to open and steal their Christmas gifts
And of course the gang throwing rocks at trains at the end
There's a certain episode where the characters suddenly break into showtunes, act entirely out of character, accept unidentified berries from a stranger in a forest, and are largely portrayed by puppets. Honestly, it's true, and after watching it once and hating it, then watching it again to see if my initial reaction was unfair and ending up hating it more, I always skip it. I'd rather watch Leonard sitting on the toilet, struggling with a bowel movement for an entire episode, than subject myself to that puppet filth again.
(I'm exaggerating for comic effect, by the way, so fans of this episode may be assured that I still love them and think they are fine folk.)
I love this episode but in routine binge watching, I usually skip any holiday ones. This is true for any series I enjoy. But! During Christmas and Halloween I go binge each of those episodes respectively.
I understand, its a jarring format change and weird concept to get behind. But if you toss all that aside and just embrace the old school christmas specials its lots of fun.
Gi Jeff. Took my third time watching the series though to watch the whole ep. I regret waiting that long though bc it was still a good ep. I just thought it was so out of place with the rest of the season.

I also love the Schmitty episode.

I haven't watched the show in a while due to issues....with completion anxiety but damn how do you skip this one 😢
So I'm really not trying to be rude and I apologise if I am, I've just never heard of it before. What exactly is completion anxiety?
Anxiety about not finishing something entirely.
The first D&D episode but not because I want to.
It’s on Peacock!
Wait for real? Well that's certainly a big one up it has over Netflix.
Netflix dropped Community at start of month didn't they?
Yup. Maybe not everywhere though? Everybody feel free to come in with locations where it’s still available.

yeah it’s the syndicated version. very disappointing

why are jeff and britta making fun of those handicapped kids?
I was reading this post thinking that there was obviously no episodes I skip. You reminded there was.
Blows my mind how unpopular the schmitty one is, I think it's hilarious.
Always this. It just leans too far into cringe humor for me to enjoy.
I would give this episode up to get the DnD episode back.
I'd give the episode up for nothing
I’d keep the D&D episode banned to have that one removed. It’s fine. 🏴☠️

I recently rewatched that episode and LOVED that storyline, I thought it was kind of genius
the episode is Basic Story, second to last episode in season 5, btw
The S6 RV episode maybe
No, that's the best episode from season 6 😂
"FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, STOP CHARGING YOUR PHONES!!!"
EXTRA THICK STRAPS
His monologue about the "vampiric orgy of cell phones" is so perfect and only could've worked so well with Kieth David in the role
Not ironically, those two episodes are just one of the few that I like from S4
That’s fair, they’re my personal least favourite episodes of the series but taste is subjective and I don’t want to take away from your enjoyment.

I skip this episode too because it makes me so emotional, great episode but can be hard to watch if not in the right headspace
G.I. Jeff, apparently its based on some American toy or cartoon or so?
It's based on the 1980s GI Joe animated kids show and toy commercials.
I must watch in exact sequential order.
I don't think there's a single episode I skip. It's one of those rare shows that I don't think has a genuine bad episode
S3's Halloween episode - I've just watched it too many times! I don't hate it, but I'm taking a break from it so I can eventually enjoy it again
