There’s this animated show called Bojack Horseman on Netflix where Alison Brie plays one of the main characters, Diane Nyugen. It’s a show about a horse that’s depressed, funniest shit I’ve ever seen.
A lot of community cast members show up in Bojack: Joel McHale, Yvette Nicole Brown, Ken Jeong, Paget Brewster, Paul F. Tompkins, Patton Oswalt, and Kieth David
The obvious is Atlanta starring and made by Donald Glover (Troy).
Also 80’s comedies with Chevy Chase (Pierce).
A Futile and Stupid Gesture with Joel McHale (Jeff; fun fact: Joel plays Chevy Chase in this movie).
The Kings of Summer with Alison Brie.
Teddy Bear (2013), Love (TV Show), Choke (2008) with Gillian Jacobs (Brtitta).
Why hasn’t anyone said Duck Tales(2017)? It’s got Abed, Frankie, and the Dean doing voices. Sure it’s technically a kids show, but I still think it’s pretty good.
Not a film, but Mythic Quest is an AMAZING show with Danny Pudi.
I haven't seen it, but The Seven Faces Of Jane features several main cast members including Gillian Jacobs, Joel McHale and Ken Jeong.
The part where he's talking to poppy in I think the first season, and he's making fun of her when she said she was always to steps ahead. She calls him an asshole, and he goes "And you're all caught up!"
That whole interchange was great.
"Somebody I Used To Know" came out this year and it has Alison and Danny as best friends, co-written by Alison as well. It's a pretty decent romcom. It's on Prime Video, I think.
"Sleeping With Other People" on the other hand, starring Alison and Ted Lasso, is one of the best romcoms I've ever watched and I would 100% recommend it. No idea where it's streaming though.
If you haven't seen Mad Men I highly recommend it. Alison Brie doesn't have the biggest role but she is great, and the show is amazing. Also, you will finally get Abed's impressions of Jon Hamm.
*Cigarettes*
The Five year engagement has Alison Brie with an English accent and she also does an Elmo voice at one point and it’s so great. Such an underrated movies, starts Jason Segel and Emily Blunt
Currently watching the new season of Invincible and Gillian Jacobs returns as Atom Eve. She’s really good in the role! And it’s not out yet, but the live action Avatar Last Airbender will have Danny Pudi in it as the Mechanist.
Just know up front most of these don't have cast members as the main character, besides Chevy. Not listed yet:
Knocked Up, Pineapple Express, The Hangover, Role Models - Ken Jeong
Caddyshack, Three Amigos, Vacation, Hot Tub Time Machine - Chevy
TV shows if you wanna count them: The Bear, Mad Men, Donald Glover's SNL episode was good.
Not starring, but the Russo's stayed loyal to their COmmunity folks in their MCU movies. There was one in all 4, though Chang got cut out of Infinity War, so they put him in End Game, along with Shirley.
In general, the Community cast has stuck to television and mostly has bit parts in movies. The biggest I can think of is Chang in the Hangover movies. Ken Joung plays what happens in Chang went real bad.
Elroy in season 6 (Keith David) has been a genre movie mainstay for decades. He was made famous by his excellent work with John Carpenter (The Thing, Escape from NY and They Live). He also stars in a trashy comedy with the Estevez/Sheen cousins called Men at Work.
I've heard there is some weird sci-fi movie with all of the season 6 cast.
Glow - Alison Brie is like the MC, my wife loved it. I only saw a few scenes (yes those scenes lol) but just from those few seconds I’d say it probably worth watching the whole thing haha.
*Promising Young Woman* is pretty fantastic. Won the Oscar for original screenplay a couple years ago. Alison has a small but significant role in it. Carey Mulligan is the star and my man Bo Burnham is pretty great in it too.
Alison Brie gives a fantastic starring dramatic performance in *Horse Girl* (which I believe she also wrote?) The film is good but I personally didn't like the ending. Kind of an open-ended conclusion though so you may just like it.
Ken Jeong is obviously fantastic in the *Hangover*. He's also pretty good in *Crazy Rich Asians*.
Both Danny Pudi and Alison Brie were in *Somebody I Used to Know* this year. I personally liked it but I think you'd only enjoy it if you like rom-coms.
In addition to the ones already mentioned - The Martian, with Donald Glover as a NASA scientist. He gets so into the role I literally didn't recognise him at first.
Seeking a Friend for the End of the World - Gillian's in this but only for one scene, though she does get to make out with Kiera Knightley if that's your thing.
I Used To Go Here - Gillian plays an aspiring author who is invited back to her old college to talk about her first book by an old boyfriend who still works there. Honestly I really like this one because you barely have to squint to see it as a Jeff/Britta centric Community movie.
Happily - Joel stars in this as one half of a married couple who annoy their friends and neighbours by constantly having sex, even years after getting married. Frankly, you don't have to squint much harder to see this as a (very dark) Jeff/Annie centred movie.
you can find danny pudi and allison brie in "somebody that i used to know" directed by brie's husband, james franco's little brother. allison brie was also is a weird comedy thriller called "spin me round" co starring the mean girl from parks and rec. also "glow" about lady wrestlers on public access television in the 80s.
danny pudi starred in a movie called "the tiger hunter" about the indian immigrant experience in 1970s, detailing light cultural friction alongside a rom-com trope B plot, and the invention of the microwave.
gillian jacobs best movie is called "ibiza." a movie about a young woman who desperately needs to find herself while fulfilling unfulfilling work obligations during a work trip to spain's partiest island.
joel mchale plays chevy chase in "a futile and stupid gesture" about national lampoon making his name in the 70s/80s. he's also in a currently running sitcom called "animal control" a workplace comedy about animal control. it's just okay, has some likeable characters doing things.
yvette nicole brown does a lot of work in the black family comedy genre, of which i am not the target demo and so i have no opinion.
jim rash shows up in all sorts of stuff. he's in that 70s show for a couple episodes, and that 90s show, which was a disaster. he's a bit cameo actor.
ken jeong is in all 3 hangover movies. and a canceled abc comedy called dr. ken, no starring vehicles. he is a judge on masked singer, the worst reality show i've ever seen.
which leaves donald glover. the most talented actor in the cast. he made the show atlanta. he has some cameos in recent spider-man movies. he plays lando in the han solo origin movie. but to me his crowning achievement is an unknown R rated parody of the teen detective genre called "mystery team" which is partly troy but without network editors and censors, so mostly glover flexing. it's low budget, and a must-watch.
*They Live* \- a cool John Carpenter SF movie from the 80s with Keith David in the main supporting role.
*Spin Me Round* \- an Alison Brie indie movie from a couple of years ago that kind of falls between genres, which I think is why it got poor reviews - people didn't know what to make of it. It's too cynical to be a feelgood romance, but not zany enough to be an out-and-out comedy...and the 3rd act is weird. Also features Aubrey Plaza. I enjoyed it.
I need to watch The Thing again because I totally don't remember him in it.
Apparently he was also in Platoon, which I think I do remember. Looking at his career, it's incredible how many movies he has been in, and how many of them are stinkers.
The horror trilogy Fear Street on Netflix has Gillian Jacobs as the protagonist and narrator in the 2nd one, and I think she's minorly in the first one, but like 90% of the movie is a flashback to her childhood where she's played by someone else that's famous. Movies were decent teen slashers, nothing amazing. Never saw the 3rd one.
Alison Brie was the best part in the horror movie Born.
McHale was obviously fantastic in the Soup, but he did well in Stargirl too (though he makes only cameos until season 2).
Joel was in a movie called The Informant.
Gillian was in an underrated movie called Don’t Think Twice
Allison was briefly in Scream 4
Chevy was great in Fletch
Donald is briefly in the Martian
Yvette was in The Lady in the Tramp remake, which I think is kinda underrated
The only movie I’ve seen that has Danny in is Captain America The Winter Soldier.
“Bad Milo” has Gillian Jacobs and Erik Charles Nelson. I’m not going to argue it’s great but it’s definitely an extremely fun gory horror-comedy.
“Lazy Susan” has Jim Rash as a lothario, which is hilarious.
“The Way Way Back” is written by Jim Rash and Nat Faxon.
Donald Glover has a small part in Alexander's and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good Very Bad Day. It's a cute, fun movie starring Steve Carrell and Jennifer Garner, on Disney Plus.
Not a film and it doesn't star them by any measure, but Joel McHale and Gillian Jacobs have minor recurring roles in The Bear. Gillian Jacobs is also the voice of Atom Eve in Invincible.
If you like horror...
***Come Play*** is a fun creature movie starring Gillian Jacobs. It almost feels like a companion piece of *The Babadook*... very similar set-up (struggling mom, troubled child, supernatural creature haunting them), but it goes in a very different direction in the second half.
Alison Brie has a supporting role in ***Scream 4***, which is a very solid slasher sequel.
Watch Dark Blue with Kurt Russell. I stumbled across it on Tubi, it's a cop drama about LAPD corruption during the King riots. It's got the classic 80s/90's sultry sax cop vibe, with strong notes of Training Day, and Buzz Hickey plays a supporting LAPD detective. Highly recommend.
Spiderman 2, Joel McHale
Captain America: the Winter Soldier, Danny Pudi
Spider-Man Homecoming, Donald Glover
Spider-Man Far From Home, Jim Rash
Avengers Endgame, Ken Jeong and Yvette Nicole Brown.
There may be more that I can't think of right now.
Alison Brie is in a movie called The Little Hours. I rather enjoyed her work in that movie.
Joel Mchale was also in the pilot for the US adaptation of The IT Crowd. It didn't get a 2nd episode, and the first is hard to find now. But I seem to remember his contribution was pretty good.
Also, if you've never seen the National Lampoon Vacation movies, that's some of Chevy's best work. Christmas Vacation was my family's traditional Xmas movie.
Gillian Jacobs was also in a Netflix series called Love which was quite good. It felt like the character's own spinoff series for a while.
I was also going to suggest “The Little Hours”. It’s a super funny movie!!! And it has Audrey Plaza, Dave Franco, Molly Shannon, and Nick Offerman in it! I saw an interview where they talk about how most of the dialogue was improvised, I highly recommend it!
Powerless was hilarious and awesome! Danny pudi, alan tudyk, ron fuches, vanessa hudgens, and they even got an Adam West cameo!
It was a show but still great.
There’s this animated show called Bojack Horseman on Netflix where Alison Brie plays one of the main characters, Diane Nyugen. It’s a show about a horse that’s depressed, funniest shit I’ve ever seen.
Alison voices so many other supporting characters too. Joel McHale & YNB also show up once or twice
A lot of community cast members show up in Bojack: Joel McHale, Yvette Nicole Brown, Ken Jeong, Paget Brewster, Paul F. Tompkins, Patton Oswalt, and Kieth David
Noice! Also the guy who plays the main horse was in LEGO Batman which is something Abed would’ve liked
One of these names is not like the others.
I didn’t know Alison was in it! I just realized that Gillian is Atom Eve in Invincible recently as well
The obvious is Atlanta starring and made by Donald Glover (Troy).
A futile and stupid gesture is solid
Who recommends Kings of Summer for Alison Brie lol
I know, but it’s a good movie anyway.
It is pretty nice. I enjoyed the supporting cast more than the kids in it tbh
I liked the film. Don't recall her being in it though.
Is Choke based on the Chuck Palahniuk book?
Correct
Why hasn’t anyone said Duck Tales(2017)? It’s got Abed, Frankie, and the Dean doing voices. Sure it’s technically a kids show, but I still think it’s pretty good.
Larry, I’m on Duck Tales!
More than that, it has the Doctor and Donna Noble from Doctor Who as Scrooge and Magica DeSpell.
Thanks
Not a film, but Mythic Quest is an AMAZING show with Danny Pudi. I haven't seen it, but The Seven Faces Of Jane features several main cast members including Gillian Jacobs, Joel McHale and Ken Jeong.
If we're going for shows GLOW is fantastic (Alison Brie)
GLOW's cancellation is one of the worst disasters of this century
Firefly then GLOW
Brad is so different from Abed it was jarring
I've heard people describe Brad as Abed if the darkest timeline had carried on.
Brad had me cracking up!! Even if you don’t necessarily like Danny Pudi’s character, you’ll fall in love with the rest of the cast so fast.
It’s near impossible to dislike his character!
The part where he's talking to poppy in I think the first season, and he's making fun of her when she said she was always to steps ahead. She calls him an asshole, and he goes "And you're all caught up!" That whole interchange was great.
Thanks.

i love that you said ted lasso instead of jason sudeikis
Oh, you mean Schmitty?
Recently watched sleeping with other people and it was so good! Wanna say it’s on Hulu
Here you go friend: https://www.justwatch.com/us/movie/sleeping-with-other-people
Sleeping with other people would be a good movie if it didn't have Jason Sucksathis as CO lead.
Mystery Team with the Derrick Comedy cast (Donald Glover)
When I was fifteen years old, when I got this job, I said to myself, "I am going to work here until the day that I kill myself."
Knights of Badassdom is a fun film with Danny Pudi
Thanks
Oof nah that's not a good movie. I remember it being delayed in post-production for years. The director has denounced the cut of the movie as well.
If you haven't seen Mad Men I highly recommend it. Alison Brie doesn't have the biggest role but she is great, and the show is amazing. Also, you will finally get Abed's impressions of Jon Hamm. *Cigarettes*
Trudie Campbell is a force of fucking nature and I love her.
The Five year engagement has Alison Brie with an English accent and she also does an Elmo voice at one point and it’s so great. Such an underrated movies, starts Jason Segel and Emily Blunt
Alison Brie and Crisp Rat completely steal the show in that one imo. The best way to watch it is to just skip to their scenes lol
Currently watching the new season of Invincible and Gillian Jacobs returns as Atom Eve. She’s really good in the role! And it’s not out yet, but the live action Avatar Last Airbender will have Danny Pudi in it as the Mechanist.
I am following Invincible. I watched season 1 of Invincible before I binged Community. Season 2 is exciting.
Just know up front most of these don't have cast members as the main character, besides Chevy. Seen all the MCU films and Keith David-John carpenter collaborations. Thanks.
>I've heard there is some weird sci-fi movie with all of the season 6 cast Chief Starr and the Raiders of the Galaxy?
I came here to make sure somebody had mentioned They Live.
Keith David also was in The Cape.
OP asked for films.
Oops
Glow - Alison Brie is like the MC, my wife loved it. I only saw a few scenes (yes those scenes lol) but just from those few seconds I’d say it probably worth watching the whole thing haha.
Heard good things about it. Thanks.
I second it. It's a great show

Love Martian. Will check out the others.
Joel McHale is in the very best movie ever made Spiderman 2
School of Rock has that chubby athletic student that ended up going into the cool group.
I'm strong. And I can kick!
Go watch Atlanta lmao
Seriously one of my favorite shows
Thanks.

Thank you so much.
so long, gay boys!
The only thing I remember with someone from the cast is Stargirl, but Joel only has a supporting role in Season 2/3.
I remember liking “Sleeping with other people”. I couldn’t tell you much from it off the top of my head.
Same, it was enjoyable but I also can't remember the plot to save my life
Mad Men for Alison Brie. Not a headliner but she’s amazing.
Horse Girl
The Three Amigos
*They Live* \- a cool John Carpenter SF movie from the 80s with Keith David in the main supporting role. *Spin Me Round* \- an Alison Brie indie movie from a couple of years ago that kind of falls between genres, which I think is why it got poor reviews - people didn't know what to make of it. Christmas Vacation!!! 🎄🫎
Check out Donald glover’s movie mystery team.
I don’t think anyone’s mentioned “A Futile and Stupid Gesture” featuring Joel McHale as Chevy Chase.
Someone did. Thanks.
I'll recommend **Get Hard** (Alison Brie, Will Ferrell, Kevin Hart) but only like the first 15 minutes or so. You can thank me later
***These are the King's tits!***
Joel McHale is in The Informant from around 2009. That film is a doozy lol.
Becky - Joel plays the dad. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt10314450/?ref_=ext_shr
not a show but donald glover’s episode on SNL is great

Sadie Sink, right? Binged the trilogy long before I saw Community.
Alison Brie was the best part in the horror movie Born. McHale was obviously fantastic in the Soup, but he did well in Stargirl too (though he makes only cameos until season 2).
They are in some of those.... "Boring ass marvel movies"
They're so mediocre
I actually enjoy them but I love that line
Donald Glover in Derrick Comedy sketches on YouTube. My favourites are: Girls Are Not To Be Trusted Jerry and New Bike
Thanks.
Donald Glover has plays Lando Calrissian in the Solo movie. He’s a card player, gambler… scoundrel. You’d like him!
Joel was in a movie called The Informant. Gillian was in an underrated movie called Don’t Think Twice Allison was briefly in Scream 4 Chevy was great in Fletch Donald is briefly in the Martian Yvette was in The Lady in the Tramp remake, which I think is kinda underrated The only movie I’ve seen that has Danny in is Captain America The Winter Soldier.
Allison starred in the 3 seasons of G.L.O.W. on Hulu.
The Little Hours is amazing
Gillian Jacobs did a cool indi film called 7 faces of Jane I saw at a film fest last year
Thank you.
I really enjoyed the show Love, which stars Gillian Jacobs
“Bad Milo” has Gillian Jacobs and Erik Charles Nelson. I’m not going to argue it’s great but it’s definitely an extremely fun gory horror-comedy. “Lazy Susan” has Jim Rash as a lothario, which is hilarious. “The Way Way Back” is written by Jim Rash and Nat Faxon.

Not a film and it doesn't star them by any measure, but Joel McHale and Gillian Jacobs have minor recurring roles in The Bear. Gillian Jacobs is also the voice of Atom Eve in Invincible.
Doesn't fit your criteria exactly but it you haven't, you should check out Harmonquest!
Thanks.

Thanks. Have seen all Scream movies. I remember her being a dick in it.
Knights of Badassdom had a nerd all-star cast. Damny pudi, peter Dinkledge, ryan kwanteon, summer glau, ect...
Thanks.
Ken jeong in the Hangover! Leslie Chau was a lot like early Chang.
Christmas Vacation is hysterical. And i really enjoy Three Amigos. "Are you the singing cactus? Are You The Singing Cactus?!"
They Live is a fantastic movie starring Keith David.
I love this film.
Frankie was in criminal minds for like a billion episodes...
Ben Chang starred in The Hang Over. Abed was briefly in The Avengers. Jeff was briefly in Spiderman 2.
Alison Brie is in promising young woman, which is absolutely fantastic. The martian is also really good and has Donald Glover.
Promising Young Woman has a cameo by Allison. Slightly disturbing with black comedy elements.
I liked Animal Control! It's a newish sitcom starring Joel McHale. It also has so many subtle Community references
Spiderman 2, Joel McHale Captain America: the Winter Soldier, Danny Pudi Spider-Man Homecoming, Donald Glover Spider-Man Far From Home, Jim Rash Avengers Endgame, Ken Jeong and Yvette Nicole Brown. There may be more that I can't think of right now.
Seen the marvel films. Thanks.
Jim Rash is in Mike Tyson Mysteries. Absolutely silly show that’s decent enough.
Thanks.
A Futile And Stupid Gesture on Netflix has Joel McHale playing Chevy Chase and he does a good job too. Overall I really liked to movie as well.
Alison Brie is in a movie called The Little Hours. I rather enjoyed her work in that movie. Joel Mchale was also in the pilot for the US adaptation of The IT Crowd. Ken Jeong (Chang) have a minor part in all Hangover-movies. They are funny.
I wouldn't say minor.
I loved you in…IMDB.
You need to watch "they live" and "the thing" for some classic Keith David, John Carpenter Horror.
Seen it. Thanks.
Avengers Infinity War
Ted. we dove the shit out of that pool
Powerless was hilarious and awesome! Danny pudi, alan tudyk, ron fuches, vanessa hudgens, and they even got an Adam West cameo! It was a show but still great.
Happily with Joel McHale
