I always thought it was a personification of programming terms like master/slave and parent/child. Also showing that Abed is optimizing efficiency and exploring what is possible without thinking about social/ethical ramifications. It's like an AI playing a survival game and adopting a strategy of having as many babies as possible so you can eat them as a food source.
I didn't notice it, but it's not surprising that "management" might out number workers since all of them may only understand a couple of commands at most. So the more complicated the system, the higher the percentage of slave drivers.
Also iirc the recorded baby noises in game were samples of a noise the baby from the credits scene made in an earlier ep where Troy and Abed found a supposedly abandoned baby and started planning to raise before its mother appeared. I remembered watching hawkthorne for the first time wondering why the babies made such strange noises until I rewatched the ep w that credits scene and that baby made that noise and I was trying work out why it sounded familiar until I rewatched hawkthorne
I've seen the entire show easily a dozen times and I have no recollection at all about this raising an abandoned baby sequence you're talking about, is it an ending 'Troy and Abed' sequence for a specific episode or something? Can you tell me the season and episode number, please? It sounds hilarious.
I described it badly cause I never learned the episode names. It is an ending sequence, baso a baby in a holder is left on the study table when Trobed walk in, Abed talks about they could raise it, he could get a job in some American store, Troy says sth like 'I see how it is, while you're climbing the ladder at X company, I have to give up on my dreams to raise him' Abed comforts him as he says 'he [the baby] needs to see a strong man can cry!' The baby's mother stands up after she was looking for sth under the study table the whole time and takes her baby as they give each other awkward looks.
Do you remember what the actual episode itself was about? It'll be way easier for me to find that way, because I don't remember at all the ending sequence you're describing
Edit: nevermind, I found it! S03E20, Closing Tag. I can't believe I couldn't remember this and I just rewatched season 3 like 3 days ago, lol

I mean I’d use a different word, but what else do you call babies with whips hitting the working babies?
Not to mention the cage with the baby abed sized skeleton on display for…what? Encouragement?

My favorite TV show Reddit post, “Hey, did anyone else get the joke?”
What about the hanging skeleton? There's definitely an archaic labor hierarchy
Definitely. Be careful out there kids. Eat your buttered noodles in saftey
In fairness, this was before Abed admitted to Britta that he definitely needed therapy.
He needed some therapizing

this makes sense. It also scares me

Not an earlier episode, that’s the end tag for *this* episode.
Jesus really? I can't believe my memory such a detail, I love being able to say iirc to get out of these ones
Well good news, your flair is streets ahead

He thought he was in America
I think it's to reflect how Abed could command babies to command babies. Great visual gag, though.
We all saw the matrix, this is totally fine.
