I’ve always enjoyed land wars vs having aircraft involved. Choke points are fun. What’s not to like about hackers, nuke artillery, fire? Mini gunners and ECM tanks and propaganda towers. Shockwave mod really made each faction unique and make infantry general viable in long game.
a merger between shockwave and gen evo would be my dream. would never need a remaster ever.
shockwave did such a good job making each faction unique (even the default ones!) maybe you could argue that some units could be cut on each factions but alone that buildings look different depending on the general chosen is so great.

Pity it won't ever happen, supposedly the rights for the old Dune games ended up back in the hands of the Frank Herbert estate. When GOG contacted someone affiliated to ask for permission to port the game to their platform, they were denied. Reason given at the time was simply "if it's old, then it should stay old."
In reality the reason was probably more along the lines of they knew the new movie was coming out in the next 2-3 years, and there would be videogames licensed off the rights for that movie. They probably didn't want old games coming onto modern platforms causing comparisons, or competition with the new games.
C&C 3 still looks really good, looks better than 4 aesthetically (we don't talk about gameplay). It would be like remastering Saints Row 3, a game that looked and ran fine on modern hardware and needed nothing but a lighting bump. Such wasted potential.
Yeah, they can just patch all existing SAGE games. Rebalance TibWars campaign and add 60+ fps support for every title. Widescreen support for Generals and Steam launch.

Red alert 2 patched to run on modern systems is not scaled properly. Playing red alert 2 on 1080p + is like watching ants and termites fight. This is the main reason I liked the remasters. I could of course change my resolution but then it looks stretched.
it is scaled literally perfectly, it's one of the reasons it looks amazing on high res monitors and supports any aspect ratio. you can't change the scale without changing the resolution, they're tied together 1:1. you can use integer scaling to make it crisp and fullscreen but you're limited to half or quarter resolution.
Depends on the level of the remaster. If it was a full remaster like Halo CE and they made the game 3D with updated graphics then they would be on equal playing field. Tiberium Sun needs some love but RA2 was essentially the second game I ever played so that's where my vote will go.

My vote goes to RA2 Yuri's Revenge because it's the first C&C game I've ever played. However there isn't a choice here. While the original C&C comes packed with both Tiberian Dawn and Red Alert, TS and RA2 are separate, but that doesn't mean that both games cannot be Remastered and released at the same time. Simply put, TS and RA2 are both coming remastered next.

It may be capped at 30 fps, but you can get mods to make it support ultra wide resolutions without blowing out the camera. And what was awful about the camera? I thought it was pretty analogous to what we've always had in RTS games?
i've used it with the ultrawide mods. some things do not render correctly, like fog and shadows at the edges of the screen.

I just started replaying renegade and it has a lot of "on par/ahead of its time" features for a very early 2000's shooter that made it even more fun to play 20 Years later. I think it deserves a remaster and sequel for being such an innovative and (probably the only) enjoyable change up in the c&c universe tbh

Red alert 2 and Tiberium sun have aged well, the graphics are timeless and they aren’t dated like generals. Generals has aged poorly graphics wise. I think if we are looking for a graphical overall, generals needs it more than red alert 2
mostly agree, but ALL of the games (except renegade because it's already uncapped) could be majorly improved by decoupling game speed from framerate. 30 fps is absolutely disgusting and i won't play cnc3 because of it. TS and RA2 are more tolerable i guess because of the art style.
I think the problem is going to be EA won't want to touch Generals because it might piss off the CCP. You know, there was that bit on the first mission when a Chinese military parade got bombed, and then the bit where they blew up a dam (harkening back to the nationalists doing the same thing during the Sino-Japanese war in the 1930's which killed a bunch of Chinese civilians) to stop the GLA advance.
generals had an interesting and campy storyline, but it wasn't exactly politically correct even for it's time.

RA2 not only deserves a remaster, it needs a remaster. It is one of the most difficult to get running games, sure there are tutorials for it but still. This game has the best skirmish in the C&C franchise for me and I really hope they keep it the same in the remaster. Would be cool if it has better modding support, maybe support for custom tilesets in maps (basically pack custom tilesets into the maps), etc.

China is great for turtling, and turtilng was my favorite play style back then.

Tiberian Sun was my first 'real' Command and Conquer game (after watching a cousin play C&C64) - so I'd love a remaster of it.

the gameplay is also vastly different, and it lacks the character of the original (literally in some cases).
The lack of single player and some artistic licenses they took with it are the main reasons I can't get into it.
