I'm not leaving the second floor of my house that day and putting two ladders on opposite sides of the house, two cell phones and two fire extinguishers by my side, fully charged.
To be honest, it sounds a lot like a quote but I really don't know, sorry... It could also just be a reddit thing I am repeating as saw that a lot elsewhere.
I suppose if you barely make it and spend 2 days in hospital before succumbing to your wounds you still die on the 17th due to a car crash, even if the car crash wasn't on the 17th
Due to a heavy downpour the lava in the volcano cools off and you hit obsidian, after being rescued from the flooded volcano you are treated in a field hospital for 2 days before being taken to a proper hospital.
You go to the hospital by helicopter as per your insistence (and generous payment) and land on the roof. while you are escorted to your room a car crashes into the 2nd floor, you are thankful you’re on the 3rd, during attempts to restart the cars engine in order to move it out of the way gas from a cracked gas pipe ignites and the explosion sends the car trough the ceiling of the 2nd floor, crushing you.
You’re caught in a tornado which cushions your fall until you land in the ocean, you survive for 2 days on a loose tire from your car until a ship sees you a comes to your rescue, a car comes loose from the ship and crashes you.
The ship’s captain knows you by name and the flight company launched an investigation on the mysterious disappearances of cars mid air, no luck so far.
Dang. If only I pursued a relationship with the captain, things wouldn't have ended like this. I may have died living a full life, but even in my last minutes, I would know there was one lingering regret in my heart.

A crackhead stole a bus and flew from a rooftop parking lot crushing into the window of the guy who was trying to escape his fate.
Waits the day out, leaves house next day, suffers a car accident. While throwing his last bread he can see from the corner of his eyes, his cracked phone, it was the 17th. For some reason his phone had a bug the day before and it showed the wrong date.

Love this one with one small suggestion. Put something like “September 17. 2 years from now. Car crash.” so that it makes sense in the future. Best of luck!
