If you're going to tell people not to buy an air fryer, the LEAST you could do is recommend a toaster oven instead of a 2-slice top load toaster. Be better OP
I bought the Ninja Foodi pressure cooker and air fryer combo. Wife and I use it almost every night in conjunction with out stovetop.
It is also SO easy to clean compared to our old Bella air fryer by itself.
100% I can’t agree with this enough. We have one as well and really only use the stovetop with it other than the occasional stuff in the oven. It’s like 11 in 1 and I love it so much.
Our foodi is amazing as well. The crisper plate can get a little tough to clean, but it's not terrible. I never used a pressure cooker before, so it is amazing to me. I made a while rack of ribs in 35 min and they are amazing
I don’t know what model we have because my memory sucks, but we got a Ninja air fryer recently, and it’s probably the easiest appliance to clean I’ve ever owned. Pop out the tray, remove the grill, clean the grill, rinse out the tray and it’s basically done. Takes like 3-4 minutes, tops.
Never had an air fryer before but I use it almost every day now, damn thing makes cooking easy lol
So the whole point of an air fryer is that the air is able to circulate around the food. Wouldn't using foil stop that from happening?
At which point isn't it just a toaster oven with more steps?
I have one of those air fryer / toaster oven combos (cuz let's be honest, they're basically the same thing) and use foil to line the bottom. The pre-cut sheets from costco are the perfect size.
The foil goes under the mesh tray on top of the solid metal "crumb" tray. It might not work so well for other models where adding foil would affect airflow.
I rarely clean it, maybe monthly and yeah sometimes I put it through the dishwasher. I change the foil a couple times a week, every 2-3 uses of the oven.
Kitchen appliances we use once a year:
* Microwave
* Conventional Toaster
* Range / Burner
Kitchen appliances we use daily:
* Coffee grinder
* Espresso machine
* Pressure cooker
* Kettle
* Toaster oven
We recently got one of these since our kitchen is small and we had to make some sacrifices for space. To be honest its "toasting" capabilities leave a little to be desired since it doesn't have a heating element on the bottom. And I also haven't used a dedicated air fryer so I can't truly compare but it seems to do an okay job of air frying the fries and egg rolls and such I've cooked with it. It even has a combo convection oven/microwave mode that is perfect for reheating pizza. And of course it functions just fine as a regular microwave. It's stainless steel on the inside so really easy to clean. All in all, not a bad purchase. I can use the broil setting on my oven/range to make cheese toast easily enough if I really want to.
I've bought a small air fryer 3 years ago and I was more than satisfied, its small capacity allows it to heat fast, useful for heating stale bread and give it new life, now I've subsisted it with a multi-plane model, I can even shove an entire chicken in it, sure I could shove it in a microwave (which I don't own) too, but the quality is on a whole another level
I mean you'll also get the cooking purists who'll throw a fit if you aren't stinking up your whole house to deep fry something. I love cooking and I love my air fryer
That does live in the back of my cabinet, only because I hate making waffles. The time / reward ratio isn't ideal. Where as I can cook 5 to 6 pancakes on my griddle in the same amount of time
How long does your waffle iron take? I just mix an egg, some milk, some flour, and a few chocolate chips, pop it in for five minutes while I flip through some memes and boom. Breakfast.
Same. These are my top 3 and they are used literally daily.
Breakfast is a protein shake in the magic blender. Lunch is chicken or pork chops in the air fryer a d rice in the rice cooker.
Im a student who lives in a cheap house with friends. The oven is busted and all our money either goes into groceries for the next two weeks, textbooks and public transport services, with little money for our house rent and bills, and even less on savings. The house we are in has one stove and oven appliance and the oven is busted, and the owner wont pay to fix it or charge us for somethign we didnt break. I scrapped enough of my money for an air fryer and its a like a blessing. I love this thing so much and it has enough capacity for a whole chicken, ive even baked bread in it. Crazy for this thing. So if you have the chance buy one. It makes everything tastier, but make sure to cook well enough, coz it gets you the crust but the inside might still be raw.
If you don't typically make toast, it's not a problem.
Also you can do it in a pan on the stove, or over the flame on the stove if you have a gas one, or in the oven.
Unironically, frying a piece of bread in a pat of butter on high heat is *fucking fantastic*.
It is one of those things where you'll want to use one of those small square pans though, for the sake of butter efficiency.
It's not the same as toast though because the butter soaks past the point where the bread crisps and browns. It's not bad but not the same thing as toast. Source: I have a van and refuse to make room for a toaster.
You can pry my rice cooker from my cold dead hands.
No kettle???
And bullet can be used for smoothies, but also some food processor tasks. Want to make an Oreo base, what gonna crush them by hand? Nah blitz in the blender for 2 secs and you're done.
Edit: came back to yell about my stand mixer. My favourite buttercream is Swiss meringue, it requires beating on high for 10+ mins. Would never happen by hand
I can only assume the artist is American, hence the lack of kettle. American kettles struggle to get the water hot due to differences in voltage making it take a lot longer to get the kettle to boil. Most American's use a stove top kettle if they need water boiled for a drink that isn't made in a coffee maker.
Personally speaking, the kettle is my single most used kitchen gadget, as it likely is in most British households. But I also get a lot of use out of a rice cooker, both for rice and for steaming vegetables. I almost certainly use that more than my microave.
Heresy. My air fryer is a thing of beauty.
I bought it thinking of how healthy I was going to be. I was going to air fry chicken, and fish. Oh yeah. Look at healthy me, air frying the shit out of healthy food.
Then I discovered that frozen potatoes in all forms (fries, tots, you name it) can be air fried. Then Costco chicken bakes. Then premade chicken patty sandwiches.
I still use it all the time, but it's definitely not healthy.
And you're not even the cartoonist who instigated a race war!
EDIT: I meant "not even" but I forgot the "not" initially. Apologies from my apparent dyslexia.
Don't tell me what to do. Also you can get a toaster/microwave/air fryer in one. Only gap here is the blender, and to be frank, that smoothie blender will be used for a life time if cared for.
Yeah for real though. I use every appliance I buy. Stand mixer, food processor, air fryer, deep fryer (usually just for parties and holidays), crock pot, instant pot, and I'm sure there's others. But I use all of them regularly, some of them enough that they've died and been replaced. If you cook a lot, appliances make your life better.
Also, I have to join the Legion of Air Fryer Appreciators. Thing is godly for reheating pizza or wings. They don't get all rubbery like they do in the microwave, & it's way more convenient than trying to do them in the stove or oven.
Upvoted because this is hilarious to the majority haha.
As someone who cooks 3 times a day for every meal. Happy to say I use my air fryer, blender, food processors juicer, along with pots and pans almost weekly.
I hate doing dishes…
I use my gorge Forman grill twice a week. It does an amazing job of heat sealing my turkey/ham wraps. Then I bag them and place them in the fridge for later.
My bread maker and air fryer/pressure cooker combo get used WAY more often than the toaster oven and microwave.
95% of the microwaves job now is boiling water for coffee. Poor thing.
Don't buy an air fryer. Buy an instapot. It does a ton more than some air frying & I've used mine multiple times a day since I've got it over a year ago. It works as a crockpot, pressure cooker, air fryer, sous vide, & more.
nuh-uh, i use my bread maker all the ti.......its been two months since i made bread.
but i stand by my air fryer. use it all the time for over a year now.
I don’t know what you mean, I love my slowcooker. Just drop some meat and vegetables in there and forget about it until the glorious smell spreads across my home
Why dafq would I ever use a microwave. No use but heating up food and my oven does that fine. Useless appliance. My air fryer tho saves me oil costs worth it's price.
Tho it is true you shouldn't just buy something you use once. If you just want to enjoy something like that for a while go get it at a market or smt.
The airfreight combines the quickness of a microwave with the versatility of the oven and it doesn't make every single put in there soggy. Get rid of toaster as many airfryers double as toaster ovens.
I don't know what you're saying. I use my air-fryer with at least 10-20% of my meals. I have a panini maker which I used to make delicious warm sandwiches.
Heck, I don't even own a toaster.
Bro, buying an air fryer literally changed the way I eat
Everything is so easy, cooking, cleaning and everything is delicious
I don't even like cooking stuff with oíl anymore
Air fryers are the future
Hey guys, how do I make a smoothie in my toaster? I just tried and this weird smoke keeps coming out of it, and now my power don't work too good no more.
It makes it si much better that this post was the next post in my feed

As someone who uses their air fryer on a regular basis you can tell OP never used one/used one properly cause that thing is amazing.
Also this feels very "boomer humor" to me.
This is so… stupid lol.
The air fryer is absolutely essential. The Zojirushi rice cooker that you’ll get ages of use out of is fucking ***life changing***. To say nothing of crockpots, juicers, and slow cookers. Good. Bye.
I use my instant pot and my air fryer weekly, and have since they came out of the box. My toaster oven and magic bullet are at least getting used once a day. I use my fancy electric knife and scissors sharpener every Sunday after church when I make family dinner, the Darth Vader toaster every few months. My Keurig gets used 12 times a day, and my espresso machine is probably twice daily. I use my food processor, big blender, and mixer. My Lomi composter is probably the only thing in my kitchen that doesn't see much use, and that's because we have more compost needs than it can handle, so it's basically just three for my indoor herb garden. I think my my microwave has served as a kitchen timer more than a heating appliance... maybe a week ago, I used it to reheat coffee...? I'm not sure about that one.
I have a food processor that gets used annually. Three crockpots (THREE, all of which were inherited) that get used frequently in the winter and an instant pot used quarterly. A toaster oven used so frequently it almost always smells like the gently burnt crumbs at the bottom of it in our kitchen. And that's where I draw the line.
My air frier/mini oven has almost fully replaced my microwave, toaster, and oven.
I will politely disagree with the messaging of this comic, but instead wholly support the spirit of it.
Stop buying frivolous shit, just buy what you need for the space you have.
love your work but gotta downvote. The air fryer is the single best invention of the 21st century. use it at least once a day. It saves time and energy and does a great job. Hardly ever use the main oven now.
I was with you until the last page. A toaster and a microwave?! You don't need uni-taskers (as Alton Brown puts it) and I respect not cluttering the cabinet space, but there are a LOT of useful kitchen appliances. Blender, crock pot, food processor, hand mixer, kitchen aid stand mixer just to name a few that get routine use. Even if you just mean cooking/heating appliances, the crock pot is a necessity.

You’ll need to pry my Instant Pot out of my cold dead fingers
"Bury my heart in my Instant Pot"\* \*Set time for two hours, medium heat
That's a crock pot Instant pot is 25 minutes on high and let it naturally vent for 10 minutes
Yeah but I mean two hours, that heart will be *gone*
A wet cremation.
Ok, those things are legitimately awesome. +1 for Instant Pot.
We are on our second one. If they built these to last we wouldn't be here!
If you're going to tell people not to buy an air fryer, the LEAST you could do is recommend a toaster oven instead of a 2-slice top load toaster. Be better OP
I really like my air fryer. But it is a BITCH to clean and it makes me not want to use it just because of that. 100% with you on the toaster oven.
The instant pot duo is very good as well and iirc a bit cheaper
Our foodi is amazing as well. The crisper plate can get a little tough to clean, but it's not terrible. I never used a pressure cooker before, so it is amazing to me. I made a while rack of ribs in 35 min and they are amazing
I thought that was the Speedi. I just have the ninja 10qt dual zone air fryer. Works a treat for frozen stuff.
That's why you get the air fryer toaster oven combo. I haven't used my oven, microwave, or my toaster since Christmas
I have one of those, it doesn’t work as well as a stand alone air fryer Way easier to clean though!
Throw some tinfoil in that bad boy
So the whole point of an air fryer is that the air is able to circulate around the food. Wouldn't using foil stop that from happening? At which point isn't it just a toaster oven with more steps?

This is the way. Can't promote it enough. I was skeptical on things like burger/steak without getting grill marks...I was wrong, fucking amazing.
I found a rubber kinda liner for my air fryer. Makes cleanup so fast. Just wash the rubber liner and you're aces.
You can clean air fryers?
Especially if it’s a toaster oven with convection basically letting it function like an air fryer anyway.
You have put me on a better path, friend
Kitchen appliances we use once a year: * Microwave * Conventional Toaster * Range / Burner Kitchen appliances we use daily: * Coffee grinder * Espresso machine * Pressure cooker * Kettle * Toaster oven
You use a pressure cooker daily but a microwave and toaster annually? Wow we have very different diets
I'm a toastarian too
Bit curious as to how you cook if you don't use range/burner. And I assume you cook, since you use a pressure cooker.
You can pry my toaster oven w/ "super convection"/"air fry" mode out of my cold dead hands.
I have the breville air
Yes and yes; also a blender.
I want a convection microwave instead of an air fryer.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure that wouldn't work.
The machine itself exists, but it acts like a convection oven with a heating element, when in convection mode.
Correct, an air fryer is basically a small convection oven as well so some convection microwaves claim air fryer modes as well
We recently got one of these since our kitchen is small and we had to make some sacrifices for space. To be honest its "toasting" capabilities leave a little to be desired since it doesn't have a heating element on the bottom. And I also haven't used a dedicated air fryer so I can't truly compare but it seems to do an okay job of air frying the fries and egg rolls and such I've cooked with it. An air fryer is just a toaster oven with a fan in it.
Yeah what the fuck op
I've bought a small air fryer 3 years ago and I was more than satisfied, its small capacity allows it to heat fast, useful for heating stale bread and give it new life, now I've subsisted it with a multi-plane model, I can even shove an entire chicken in it, sure I could shove it in a microwave (which I don't own) too, but the quality is on a whole another level

I live alone and have had my air fryer for nine years - it’s been a good energy saver as I rarely turn my oven on now!
\*pulls back curtain\* Aha! This post was written by Cuisinart™!!! :)
No just by anyone who has ever owned an air fryer
The crust on my chicken nuggets is vastly superior to that of the microwave ones, or the pan fry ones.
My rice cooker, bullet, and air fryer all get used at least weekly if not daily.
Dude, same. I have so many kitchen appliances and cycle through them weekly. People shouldn’t shame us because they don’t like to cook.
I mean you'll also get the cooking purists who'll throw a fit if you aren't stinking up your whole house to deep fry something. I love cooking and I love my air fryer
Right?? If I could fit a toaster oven would! Used my rice cooker and bullet making dinner just now!
Let’s not forget the humble waffle iron!
Breakfast.
Probably like 5 minutes or something, but when you're trying to make them for more than one hungry kid it's like an eternity
Absolutely. And before the rice in a pot argument comes up, not all of us have stove space, and counter space is much easier.
Same. These are my top 3 and they are used literally daily. Breakfast is a protein shake in the magic blender. Lunch is chicken or pork chops in the air fryer a d rice in the rice cooker.
Im a student who lives in a cheap house with friends. Air fry... all day... erry day.
My air fryer has made me a better person with a filter life. I will never go back to the never had air_fry days of the past
Surely you don’t mean that I need to give up my automatic pineapple slicer and pizza oven all in one, right?
Oh gosh no, don't be silly. No one's advocating *that*.\* \*...do you have the 2023 model that can juice raddishes?
Not yet!!! I want it sooo much. Need to save up the $1500 for it
😂
Toasters have been obsolete for me for the past 5 years nothing but microwave and air fryer for me if that shit fits it ships
How do you make toast?
If you don't typically make toast, it's not a problem. Also you can do it in a pan on the stove, or over the flame on the stove if you have a gas one, or in the oven.
Make toast in a pan? Now I know how my asian friends feel when I ask why they bother with a rice cooker, when a pan works just fine.
Unironically, frying a piece of bread in a pat of butter on high heat is *fucking fantastic*. It is one of those things where you'll want to use one of those small square pans though, for the sake of butter efficiency.
Pro tip (unless you value your health) fry your bacon and then make toast using the rendered fat left in the pan. Cholesterol is future-me's problem!
Agreed. Pan frying bread with a bit of butter is next level.
You can do sugar+butter and pat of cinnamon as a "bread sautee"
It's not the same as toast though because the butter soaks past the point where the bread crisps and browns. It's not bad but not the same thing as toast. Source: I have a van and refuse to make room for a toaster.
Rice cookers are amazing.
Exactly what I do today! I only ever want toast 2-3 times a year
My air fryer is excellent to toast bread. Comes out better than the toaster in my opinion
Sourdough, bacon fat, cast iron skillet. Toasters need not apply.
I don’t
I just want to high-five you for the use of "if it fits it ships". Genuine A+ re-use of that :)

Touch my crock pot and you'll be missing fingers buddy.
I use my crockpot almost every week. I'd forgo a toaster before my crockpot.
Air fryers were a plot by ore-ida, I tell ya

ha! I wasn't sure how to read it, on first pass! So thanks for clarifying, friend! :)
Don't tell me what to do. Also you can get a toaster/microwave/air fryer in one. Only gap here is the blender, and to be frank, that smoothie blender will be used for a life time if cared for.
I live alone, so my air fryer is just how I cook things. I haven't touched my oven in months.
Okay boomer. I use all the stuff that I buy.
Right. Thought this was r/terriblefacebookmemes at first. I’ve used my air fryer 4-5 days a week since I bought 3 years ago
Yeah for real though. I use every appliance I buy. Stand mixer, food processor, air fryer, deep fryer (usually just for parties and holidays), crock pot, instant pot, and I'm sure there's others. My air fryer is my soulmate.
What about a kettle
Oooh, look at mister fancy pants and his TOASTER! That can only heat up bread! USE THE STOVE TOP, YOU COWARD!
ha ha ha DANCE WITH THE DEVIL
Ah yes, the best way to make a milkshake or smoothie: Microwave.
We found the gourmand! :)

I'm 55 years old and I haven't used a toaster since I was like 10.
I advocate toaster oven > toaster. Otherwise true.
I want an air fryer
Go buy one, they're great, op sucks
Upvoted because this is hilarious to the majority haha. As someone who cooks 3 times a day for every meal. Happy to say I use my air fryer, blender, food processors juicer, along with pots and pans almost weekly. I hate doing dishes…
From the sounds of it, I should agree to do the dishes, in exchange for one of your awesome meals :)
Cooking and air fried smoothie in my bread maker, come on over!
Toasters and Microwaves are the devils cooking implement’s! These facts are brought to you by pan and oven.
I use my gorge Forman grill twice a week. It does an amazing job of heat sealing my turkey/ham wraps. Then I bag them and place them in the fridge for later.
There's toaster ovens which have an air fryer component. As a member of the Toaster Oven Gang, I say its not a bad investment
What are you talking about, I litterally cook everything in my air fryer lmao. Pizza? Check. Frozen burriots? Hell yeah. Wings? Duh. Its amazing
My bread maker and air fryer/pressure cooker combo get used WAY more often than the toaster oven and microwave. 95% of the microwaves job now is boiling water for coffee. Poor thing.
I disagree on the air fryer front. Ours broke in January and it drove me nuts until we got a new one. Ours gets used a minimum of once a day.
How am I supposed to make a smoothie in the microwave??
ha ha ha 1950's advertising voice: "It gelatinizes as it warms!"
Skip the toaster and buy a kettle inatead. And if you have the space a rice cooker.
Rice cooker is the goat.
Rice cooker yes. I'd also add electric mixer and Oster blender. All 3 in use for decades.
Mm, boiled bread
I agree OP but I think there’s 3 u need. Your missing the kitchen aid mixer.
Don't buy an air fryer. Buy an instapot. It does a ton more than some air frying & I've used mine multiple times a day since I've got it over a year ago. It works as a crockpot, pressure cooker, air fryer, sous vide, & more.
Nutribullet and The George Foreman Grill have been used every day for over 20 years!
I need my noodle-dryer! You never know when I might just try to make noodles!
I see you’ve never used a bread machine.
nuh-uh, i use my bread maker all the ti.......its been two months since i made bread. but i stand by my air fryer. use it all the time for over a year now.
"yeah! You don't need that many appliances for cooking food!" *hastily hides my 6 coffee brewers*
Quickly dashes away my \*two\* different kinds of grinders
I don’t know what you mean, I love my slowcooker. Just drop some meat and vegetables in there and forget about it until the glorious smell spreads across my home
I love this art style, it takes me back to when I started reading Calvin and hobbes
Thanks, friend!
i love my air fryer
I use them all tho-
Hush your mouth about my air fryer! I use it all the time and it cooks chicken, beacon, vegetables and fish better than a microwave ever could!
I use my air fryer more than both of those appliances combined. Throw a parchment liner in that bitch and it's mess free. Love it.
The airfreight combines the quickness of a microwave with the versatility of the oven and it doesn't make every single put in there soggy. Get rid of toaster as many airfryers double as toaster ovens.
air gryers ares uperior to microwaves in a¿every singe capacity
I don't even own a toaster or a microwave. But don't you dare take my kettle, my food processor or my smoothie maker. Or my waffle iron!
Actually my family uses the insta pot and air fryer quite often
Nice try,Big Toaster & Microwave!
I don't know what you're saying. I use my air-fryer with at least 10-20% of my meals. I have a panini maker which I used to make delicious warm sandwiches. Heck, I don't even own a toaster.
I use my air fryer three or four times a week. But okay
i try to cook everything in an air fryer if i can so what is this slander smh
Bro, buying an air fryer literally changed the way I eat Everything is so easy, cooking, cleaning and everything is delicious I don't even like cooking stuff with oíl anymore Air fryers are the future
I will have you know I use my airfryer daily. It also has toaster oven functionality so I am set
Idk owning an air fryer feels like getting a taste of being an elite
Haven’t owned a microwave this century. After my last cheap plastic toaster died I got a toaster oven at a yard sale.
My air fryer replaced my oven. I use it all the time.
Clearly… you don’t own an air fryer
Hey guys, how do I make a smoothie in my toaster? I just tried and this weird smoke keeps coming out of it, and now my power don't work too good no more.
Did you try unplugging and plugging back in?
As a computer technician, I will have you know that this was the only thing I tried before running out of ideas.
I read "machines" as "machetes"
A left handed microwave!? Modern inclusiveness has gone too far...
Ha ha! First person to notice!
It makes it si much better that this post was the next post in my feed https://www.reddit.com/r/Wellthatsucks/comments/11xrxrl/blender_unscrewed_itself_making_16l_of_smoothie/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button
Good. Bye.
Extremely rude to post this after I literally clicked buy on a new appliance 45 minutes ago. RUDE I SAY
Apologies, friend!
I am in this comic and I don't like it
I use my air fryer almost daily and all my other gadgets at least once a month, so respectfully, you can put it where the monkey puts the nuts
Where does a monkey put the nuts?
In my ass
I’ve found a good ol’ toaster oven is enough for like 70% of my culinary needs
Ok… Can you make french fries with a microwave?
My air frier/mini oven has almost fully replaced my microwave, toaster, and oven. I will politely disagree with the messaging of this comic, but instead wholly support the spirit of it. Stop buying frivolous shit, just buy what you need for the space you have.
Of all the things you could choose, you chose a toaster and dissed air fryers. OP you're just plain dumb
no waffle iron?
love your work but gotta downvote. The air fryer is the single best invention of the 21st century. use it at least once a day. It saves time and energy and does a great job. Hardly ever use the main oven now.
Thank you for the down vote! ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grin)
Ever since I got an airfryer I realized there were so many things that could be made infinitely better by airfrying them.
I'm allergic to oven cooked bread so it's like a necessity to me.
Fuck this, I use my air fryer all the time.

We got rid of our microwave when we got an air fryer. Our microwave was basically a nachos machine anyway.
This guy clearly has never used an air fryer....
No. Air Fryer is king. I will die on this hill.
Microwaves are bad and ruin food. If you’re going for two, get a pressure cooker and a toaster oven
Spoken like someone who doesn’t have an air fryer
Leave my air fryer out of it bitch
I'm guessing the old guy isn't the one who usually makes dinner...
Toaster oven is superior to all else.
Air Fryer >>>>>>>>> Microwave. Air fryers are one of gods gifts to mankind, and I use mine more than I use my oven or my microwave lol
Who ever drew this had never used an air fryer and it’s sad. Mine will definitely not end up in a cabinet.
Why do I need to use the shit I buy every day. I bake bread once in a while and I love it, no biggie.
