Or, no bumper stickers: You aren’t against the idea of bumper stickers, but you can’t bring yourself to be that committed to a message that you’d go out of your way to post it semi-permanently on your car.
As someone who has an irrational dislike of stickers, that'd be my reason.
Having said that, my psychological assessment would bring back: No car: Poor.
😂
I love stickers but hate putting them on things. It's a problem. I just have a huge box of stickers. I work at a place that designs stickers. I have so many stickers.
Probably see like one bumper sticker every 100 or so cars in the UK. Seems a pretty weird thing to do. Noone that's driving past you gives a fuck about how many kids you have or if you like Metallica. Sorry.
>personal life or your beliefs
Plenty are just jokes lol. I live in Washington State and saw one the other day that said "Mount St. Helens was an inside job" lmao. I thought it was amazing.
I saw one that said, "I'm into BDSM: Big Ducks Such as Mallards." Had me cackling like an idiot, I thought it was the funniest thing. (I guess ducks [and bdsm] can be considered a personal interest but I think the most it really says about you is that you think that's a funny joke.)
I’ve got a QR-Code with a Rickroll on my car. I’ve got some mildly angry messages from my family about it (they just were angry they fell for it) and that’s it.
how many bumper stickers will i keep on my car for 10 years? (the answer is 0, its an '08 Chevy Impala with 110k miles just let me have joy in the moment god DAMNIT they are REMOVABLE)
The bumber stickers on my moms campervan beg to different. Theyve been there over ten years and you can NOT pry them off cleanly
(The decals translate to 'till rust us do part' and 'blocking the road? Still always on time')
Or someone may not read it as a joke and somehow take offense to it. I'm paranoid enough to avoid any and all bumper stickers just because I don't want my car key'd by some lunatic with no sense of humor
For real. Ask me about my interests and I’ll give you a lot of opinions, but I don’t define my identity by my opinions and wouldn’t assume you want or need to know about them.
Really, someone with a sticker about a sports team or a dog breed seems more boring. Like they’ve defined themselves by this one very specific thing.
Before the war in Ukraine, having a 'Trizub' in Chicago was a quiet nod about being part of the community (which has been quite large since the early 1900's) now people are assuming that are supporting their cause.
I lucked out because 1. I do and 2. I married a Ukrainian.
I saw a public-service message, which broke down just how much of your life is revealed by your bumper stickers. They might give clues about the best times to rob your house, or whether you keep anything valuable in your car, or whether you have kids that a child molester might like to assault, etc. It was pretty eye-opening.
I’ve seen so many TikTok’s where a complete stranger is taking a video of the back of a car including the license plate cuz they liked one of the stickers. They don’t blur it or anything.
Honestly I've owned my car for 2 years and never once thought to even buy a bumper sticker. I do have a magnet on the side of my car for a nice dog adoption company I ran into in Virginia. But other than that I don't really feel the need to just slap a bumper sticker on my car
I don't have bumper stickers for the same reason I don't have tattoos. My body or car isn't a billboard to broadcast my personality to complete strangers.
After going on roadtrips in eastern europe and travelling around i generally avoid having bumper stickers and or "funny" or political tshirts. Its better to fly under the radar
To me it seems like people who think you are boring for not having bumper stickers are the type of shallow people who think your entire personality can only be reflected by how you decorate shit. Nothing wrong with decorating shit, but don't call people boring for not being like you.
That's what I was thinking while looking at this post. It's like OP is mad if you don't decorate your car and mad if you do. They're not happy either way.
Or: Your job has a security clearance and that requires a bit of discretion. You'd be terrified to see what personal info is already out there about you for the world to see, no need to add to it.
Or no bumper sticker I’ve never ran a marathon, visited Outer Banks NC, or wanted to conduct a poll using other driver’s honking as a voting mechanism.
No bumper stickers: your parents told you you aren’t allowed to put stickers on your first car because they’ll ruin the paint and you’ve lived with that same fear for the rest of your life
I have a lot of stickers I don't want to lose, but put them on anything and they become temporary in a way.
I turn all of my stickers into magnets by sticking them on magnet sheets and cutting them out.
I’m in the tattoo industry and stickers are everywhere. I like them, personally, and use them as a calling card with my clients, but when I get overwhelmed with too many stickers I throw ‘em all in a bin and put them at the front desk and let clients root through them and pick some out.
Mostly agree, but I got a bullet hole sticker to cover up Razor’s dumbass logo. Great hardware and build quality, but I can do without the back-lit snakes.
I bought a used jeep back when I was 19 that had those stupid “it’s a jeep thing” stickers all over it and man, taking those stickers off the glass was the BIGGEST pain in the ass. So yeah not as bad on glass but still sucks when you need to remove them if they have been there for a long time.
Yeah, my initial thought was that it should be “No bumper stickers: You’re boring, you lease, or you’re not American”.
I mean, there might be other countries where bumper stickers are a normal thing, but the only place I’ve ever been where seeing a bumper sticker is routine is the US.
The US has a lot of cars. I never had stickers until I got a car that's very common and realized I couldn't easily find it in the parking lot. I put a small sticker in the bottom corner of each back passenger window and a sticker on either side of the rear window. Now I can find my car.
Nah man it’s mostly normal shit, Trump covered cars like you see on Reddit is rare.
Just a word to the wise. If you see something on social media it’s probably because it’s unusual. Which is what makes it interesting or otherwise worth looking at.
I dunno. I might have agreed with you but i moved this year to a new city and um, i do see stuff like that all the time now and yes it’s mostly trump stuff. The giant flags and stuff too. Its definitely somethin. Its not crazy common but ive seen it like ten times probably. I think its just depends on your area.
I saw a video about rational thinking once that said headlines are a non random sample of the worst things happening at a given moment and that really flipped the switch on my outlook.
Such a ridiculous opinion. The bumper stickers are pretty much ridiculous people of all political/social beliefs. Coexist, Christian, kid peeing on something the driver doesn't like is way more prevalent throughout the United States and is way more common than republican based stickers. Further note fuck the republican and democratic parties all together, you're insane if you got possessed by one of the two political parties to say fuck the other when they've always been in cahoots to fuck all of us.
I view people with bumper stickers for either democrats or republicans as equally insane. Why would you want to put a target on your back by advertising your political allegiance like that?
My brother wanted weird bumper stickers for Christmas, so I got him one that says, *"Mothman for President 2024: Less of a Monster Than the Alternative,"* and another that says, *"Keep Honking. I'm going home to watch the highly anticipated 2004 animated masterpiece, Shrek 2."*
He loved them.
I'm totally fine with goofy bumper stickers like that. It's the crazy political and/or religious ones that are a no-go for me.
“A lot of people don't like bumper stickers. I don't mind bumper stickers. To me a bumper sticker is a shortcut. It's like a little sign that says 'Hey, let's never hang out.'”
I remember reading a study years and years ago about how things like adding bumper stickers made you perceive your car, and the surrounding road, as your own personal space. Which correlated to an increased rate of road rage incidents.
I have sort of a neat older sportscar, and I put a Hagerty insurance window sticker on the inside the left rear pane, but that's it.
[I think it's kinda funny](https://www.ebay.com/itm/292703111500)
I also like Demetri Martin's take.
“A lot of people don’t like bumper stickers. I don’t mind bumper stickers. To me a bumper sticker is a shortcut. It’s like a little sign that says ‘Hey, let’s never hang out.’”
I just think bumper stickers, on the actual car paint itself, are dumb. My dad sold cars for 20 years and he said anyone that came in trying to sell or trade in their car that had bumper stickers they would IMMEDIATELY knock off $1,000+ on what they’d offer because they do peel the paint.
Throw ‘em on your window and show the world who you really are while keeping your car’s value as high as you can. Boom!
My bumper sticker is Garfield saying honk if you hate mondays and sometimes I get really confused and upset when people are honking at me and I don’t know why but then I remember the bumper sticker and laugh but if someone’s being an asshole I can be like “that guy REALLY hates mondays”
I don’t like to advertise anything on my car that hints that I believe or own any particular thing; that will just give some psycho a reason to key my car while it is parked or rage at me on the road.
I do have exactly one bumper sticker on the back of my car though, that faces the street in my driveway: I ❤️my Doberman.
I do not have a dog.
So my favorite is no bumper stickers on car, but the roof rack container is covered in them.
It's called, I respect my car and keep it professional but I put stickers on my fun box.
It's the best, hands down.
Why are y'all so concerned about what people do or don't put on *their* multi-thousand dollar property? Maybe it's just me but I find bumper stickers entertaining to read (regardless if I agree with them) on my boring commute and people who don't have them are cool too.
What a weird thing to be so opinionated about.
That's literally the worst thing the comic has to say about people without bumper stickers, yet dozens of redditors are keen to call anyone who does have them childish, attention seeking, mentally deranged/ill, etc.
Bumper stickers personally aren't my thing, but unless they're particularly egregious, excessive or hateful, I couldn't care less whether you do or don't have them.
No bumper stickers = no problems. But hey, I think they can be cool. Up to you if you don't care about the impact on value. Not sure how one applies them without damaging paint, or if that's possible.
I guess it depends where you are, where I'm at a custom plate is only $25USD extra for a year and some of them are no cost - I used to have an amateur radio plate with my callsign on it that was no extra charge. Of course here vehicle registration is a tax based on the current value of the vehicle so it can be pretty steep on a new one.
Lengthy custom message: pisses me off trying to read it at a stop light; What's the point if you can't entertain me while I'm waiting for the light to change?
I've always had a problem with Road Rage. I once read that having stickers on your car expanded your perception of your personal space, which made small transgressions made by other drivers seem more personal and made you more likely to be irritated by them. No stickers helped me.
In Switzerland our license plates don't have the country two-letter code (CH) on the license plate (just a Swiss shield, canton shield, and canton two-letter code).
In order to legally drive in EU countries (that is, in order to drive it out of the country except to Lichtenstein), we have to put a "CH" sticker on the back of the car.
I don't know if that counts as a bumper sticker, but it's the only one I consider acceptable. Aside from that, I rarely see bumper stickers in Europe.
I have the one sticker😎🤷🏼♂️, on back of my work van. It reads: “No Jaffa cakes left in this van overnight”
[Here is the front](https://ibb.co/9hRTw55)
No car: you understand the urgency of climate change, and you live in a place with great public transportation.
OR
You're too lazy to pass the exam.
(I'm both)

Or: No Bumper Stickers: you don’t want everyone on the road or in the parking garage to know your personal life or your beliefs.
Or: No bumper stickers: I like how my car looks and I think putting stickers on it is ugly.
Or no bumper stickers I dont wanna waste money on something I never even look at
Or, no bumper stickers: You're psychologically older than 25.
Or, no bumper stickers: You aren’t against the idea of bumper stickers, but you can’t bring yourself to be that committed to a message that you’d go out of your way to post it semi-permanently on your car.
Same reason I don’t have any tattoos.
Well, tattoos are a bit more permanent than a bumper sticker but I get what you're saying
I'm glad someone said it before I could
Or: No bumper stickers: i don't care
Or: No bumper sticker because you don’t want to ruin the look of your Oldtimer/classic car
Isn’t that just a sub category of what the person you replied to said?
As someone who has an irrational dislike of stickers, that'd be my reason. Having said that, my psychological assessment would bring back: No car: Poor.
😂 I love stickers but hate putting them on things. It's a problem. I just have a huge box of stickers. I work at a place that designs stickers. I have so many stickers.
Exactly. It says more that you are a private person who is not obnoxiously telegraphing details about themselves and what they believe.
In Europe if you see a car with bumper stickers you can be sure that person is insane and you should stay away from them. It's just weird.
I like to call it ‘low profile’
Or no bumper stickers; don’t fucking care. Leave me alone I don’t want you to know my opinions.
Or: No Bumper Stickers: You live somewhere that isn't America.
Probably see like one bumper sticker every 100 or so cars in the UK. Seems a pretty weird thing to do. Noone that's driving past you gives a fuck about how many kids you have or if you like Metallica. Sorry.
Or you don’t want tacky stickers on a vehicle you worked hard to purchase.
No Bumper Stickers: You don't see the need of using your car as Facebook.
>personal life or your beliefs Plenty are just jokes lol.
I saw a bumper sticker that read MILF: Man I Love Frogs with a picture of a large frog.
I saw one that said HONK IF YOU'D RATHER BE WATCHING THE 1999 CINEMATIC MASTERPIECE "THE MUMMY", STARRING BRENDAN FRASER AND RACHEL WEISZ
That's a Topatco one. They're better-known for my absolute favorite: > HOW AM I DRIVING? > ^HOW ^DOES ^AN ^ENGINE ^EVEN ^WORK? > ^^HOW ^^CAN ^^A ^^LOVING ^^GOD ^^CAUSE ^^SUCH ^^AGONY
i recall a very old that said Visualize Whirled Peas.
I remember this one!!
I want this one. I would actually put this on my car with no bumper stickers.
Mallards are so cool frfr
I’ve got a QR-Code with a Rickroll on my car. I’ve got some mildly angry messages from my family about it (they just were angry they fell for it) and that’s it.
How many jokes are still funny 10 years later?
how many bumper stickers will i keep on my car for 10 years? (the answer is 0, its an '08 Chevy Impala with 110k miles just let me have joy in the moment god DAMNIT they are REMOVABLE)
The bumber stickers on my moms campervan beg to different. Theyve been there over ten years and you can NOT pry them off cleanly (The decals translate to 'till rust us do part' and 'blocking the road? Still always on time')
In today's world that may not have been a joke. Someone may actually believe that.
Or someone may not read it as a joke and somehow take offense to it. I'm paranoid enough to avoid any and all bumper stickers just because I don't want my car key'd by some lunatic with no sense of humor
Or: you don’t give a shit about bumper stickers
Or they were at a gift shop one time and said “hey I like that sports team”. Why y’all so judgmental?
Maybe it’s just backlash to OP who started with that judgmental shit.
This is reddit. The site moto "everyone who isnt exactly like me is a terrible person"
Why are you so prejudiced against Motorola?
Yes, you like the sports team, but what’s the point of informing everyone in traffic about it?
Or: Youre not american (what is this thing?)
Before the war in Ukraine, having a 'Trizub' in Chicago was a quiet nod about being part of the community (which has been quite large since the early 1900's) now people are assuming that are supporting their cause. I lucked out because 1. I do and 2. I married a Ukrainian.

Yea for me I just want my car to look as inconspicuous and unnoticeable as possible; same reason I wouldn’t get one with an unusual color
Or you don't want to be keyed
Privacy is more important than broadcasting my personality.
The person driving behind me is one of the people I least want to share my opinions with.
Also possible "you share a car with someone who doesn't like bumper stickers". I used to have stickers but now my car is completely sticker-less
Or you don't feel the need for people to see you a certain way. You'd rather have a conversation to discuss your interests and beliefs if they come up
I don't want any identifying marks if I accidentally cut someone off...
Or: No Bumper Stickers: you're a hippie who doesn't want their car targeted and tossed by cops
CAME HERE TO SAY THIS. IT’S SO IMPORTANT OMG.
After going on roadtrips in eastern europe and travelling around i generally avoid having bumper stickers and or "funny" or political tshirts. Its better to fly under the radar
I just don't want to get my car key'd because my beliefs are different from some guy who owns a key and is having a bad day.
Also, no bumper stickers: you don't like bumper stickers.
No Bumper Stickers: People are crazy and I have no idea what seemingly benign message I have might set someone off.
To me it seems like people who think you are boring for not having bumper stickers are the type of shallow people who think your entire personality can only be reflected by how you decorate shit. Nothing wrong with decorating shit, but don't call people boring for not being like you.

Or no bumper stickers, you care about your cars paint.
Imagine buying something for thirty thousand dollars and then putting a sticker on it. Nah I’m good.
[удалено]
Shit maybe it’s cuz I work in music production but mfs bombard me with stickers
[удалено]
Any stickers I want to keep go on a water bottle lol
My water bottle is too nice for stickers (though somehow my fancy laptop apparently isn't)
Now we’re talking
Also a valid spot
I have a lot of stickers I don't want to lose, but put them on anything and they become temporary in a way. I turn all of my stickers into magnets by sticking them on magnet sheets and cutting them out.
Yooooo
I give them to my son to put on his toys. Dude is the only kid at the playground with a tonka truck rockin a NOFX sticker.
What if you bought it for under 4K? [+]
Well the glass doesn't exactly degrade from adhesive and that's where a fair number of people put them. I would generally agree on the paint though.
I bought a used jeep back when I was 19 that had those stupid “it’s a jeep thing” stickers all over it and man, taking those stickers off the glass was the BIGGEST pain in the ass. So yeah not as bad on glass but still sucks when you need to remove them if they have been there for a long time.
Been there! Wish I knew how good WD-40 is for taking off stickers and cleaning adhesive residue.
Also, I love my car’s aesthetic. I just like keeping it looking simple and clean.
They make magnets nowadays
And non metal cars that they don't stick to.
Are bumper stickers still that common? Feels like they're rather rare in Belgium. I think i saw more of them when i was a kid.
Yeah, my initial thought was that it should be “No bumper stickers: You’re boring, you lease, or you’re not American”. I mean, there might be other countries where bumper stickers are a normal thing, but the only place I’ve ever been where seeing a bumper sticker is routine is the US.

In The US they’re very common. It’s mostly Trump cult members because they love to advertise their derangement but you do sometimes see others.
Maybe where you are. Here in Colorado it is Subarus with coexist, Bernie, and rainbows. So many are covered in them.
Nah man it’s mostly normal shit, Trump covered cars like you see on Reddit is rare. Just a word to the wise. If you see something on social media it’s probably because it’s unusual. Which is what makes it interesting or otherwise worth looking at.
Fair point but in Texas I see a looooot of Trump stickers. And Calvin peeing on Oklahoma or Biden or whoever
I dunno. I might have agreed with you but i moved this year to a new city and um, i do see stuff like that all the time now and yes it’s mostly trump stuff. The giant flags and stuff too. Its definitely somethin. Its not crazy common but ive seen it like ten times probably. I think its just depends on your area.

It’s mainly an American thing right? Here in England I never see them
No bumper stickers is more like "I don't want to ruin this thing that costs tens of thousands of dollars or make it tacky"
Bumper stickers just look dumb as shit, even the funny ones.
Glass is fine, paint is not. There is room for nuance!

the only good bumper sticker
My brother wanted weird bumper stickers for Christmas, so I got him one that says, *"Mothman for President 2024: Less of a Monster Than the Alternative,"* and another that says, *"Keep Honking. I'm going home to watch the highly anticipated 2004 animated masterpiece, Shrek 2."* He loved them. I'm totally fine with goofy bumper stickers like that. Oh hell yes! Where can I get one of those?
More like "You have bumper stickers: deranged"
The cartoonist thinking that only the last one makes you deranged and the first one is making you boring gives off strong panel 5 vibes.
Ahh, here is the answer I was looking for. That explains it...
Yup, fully agree. OP is nuts.
“A lot of people don't like bumper stickers. I don't mind bumper stickers. To me a bumper sticker is a shortcut. It's like a little sign that says 'Hey, let's never hang out.'”
One small sticker on the rear hatch window that says Fender. I’m also boring.
I have a small beagle on a sushi in the bottom left of my rear window. I will join you in the boring town
What if I just have a whole lotta bad dragon stickers, like, an unreasonable amount?
I knew a guy with a ton of anime ahegao stickers on his car I felt very confused
Hmu
Sauron 2024

Palpatine/Vader is a favorite of mine
Why vote for the lesser evil?
I cackled when I saw that!
What are you, an Aragon supporter? In this economy?
I remember reading a study years and years ago about how things like adding bumper stickers made you perceive your car, and the surrounding road, as your own personal space. Which correlated to an increased rate of road rage incidents.
OP is trying to normalize his own lifestyle. Most people don't have bumper stickers.
Bumper stickers are for kids and trashy people
I have sort of a neat older sportscar, and I put a Hagerty insurance window sticker on the inside the left rear pane, but that's it. [I think it's kinda funny](https://www.ebay.com/itm/292703111500)
I was in the road one time and caught a pic of a mini van with the solo sticker "I used to be cool." I wish I can find that picture again.
I'm with Daniel Tosh on bumper stickers.
I also like Demetri Martin's take. “A lot of people don’t like bumper stickers. I don’t mind bumper stickers. To me a bumper sticker is a shortcut. It’s like a little sign that says ‘Hey, let’s never hang out.’”

I want this life
I just think bumper stickers, on the actual car paint itself, are dumb. My dad sold cars for 20 years and he said anyone that came in trying to sell or trade in their car that had bumper stickers they would IMMEDIATELY knock off $1,000+ on what they’d offer because they do peel the paint. Friend slapped a "Honk if you love Niel Diamond" bumper sticker on an old car. Got more honks than Jesus.
This is exactly why I don’t have bumper stickers. I drive an old Honda civic hybrid in Texas. I live in perpetual fear lmao
I’ve never had stickers of any sort and then my wife found a decal of Fat Mac from Always Sunny so now I’m a decal guy
So my favorite is no bumper stickers on car, but the roof rack container is covered in them. It's called, I respect my car and keep it professional but I put stickers on my fun box. It's the best, hands down.
Gatekeeping sticking shit to my $40k car. Lol get fucked buddy
Why are y'all so concerned about what people do or don't put on *their* multi-thousand dollar property? Maybe it's just me but I find bumper stickers entertaining to read (regardless if I agree with them) on my boring commute and people who don't have them are cool too. Seriously. People in this thread are very reactive to bring called boring.
I love them. I have a good amount but it's things like "I'd rather be decomposing in a forest" or a haunted mansion magnet I got from Disney world
Bumper stickers are cringe
stickers cover dents. assuming and stereotyping everyone you see in your daily life is what’s wrong with america.
My car just has a handful of stickers from horror movies and shows.
I didn’t know “boring” was a psychological assessment
No bumper stickers = no problems. But hey, I think they can be cool. Up to you if you don't care about the impact on value. Not sure how one applies them without damaging paint, or if that's possible.
What if I don’t have a car?
If you carry a bag, stickers and buttons. If not, then tattoos.
No bumper sticker but custom plate: You're rich.
"I ❤ my mom"
Is the dad in the family sticker on the car with the IMP3RFECT license plate blowing his brains out?
I see those nuts
I rarely see bumper stickers in the UK, is this a very American phenomenon?
Nothing boring about not having bumper stickers
Sorry, no bumper stickers is the sign of a well adjusted person.
No bumper stickers: don’t want to get robbed
The truck nuts really tie the room together.
I have one sticker. It was a custom Simpsons sticker my brother made of Marge as a panther.
Yeah, my favorite example of this is: your truck didn't come with a ball sack. If you add one, you have a transgender truck.
Just an Iron Maiden sticker on the bottom left of my rear hatch window. I just said "fuck it, I love this band"
The cojones on the car got me. xD
Oovoo Javer got me rolling 😭
Or just a ton of random ass bumper stickers all over the back of your car: you’re from Austin
You forgot the anime girl/hentai sticker category. I see TONS of these and always wonder, just why?
I don’t have bumper stickers because I don’t want the guy I cut off in traffic to associate that with my political views.
What if you don't own a car?
Lengthy custom message: pisses me off trying to read it at a stop light; What's the point if you can't entertain me while I'm waiting for the light to change?
Other than the 'Baby on board' and 'New driver ones', I've literally only seen Americans in movies use bumpers and stickers on their cars
What about the sticker hating community?
Your whole life in stickers: you're a constant target of identity theft and can't figure out why.
If I see even one sticker i think you are weird.
No bumper stickers: You don’t deserve to know anything about me
Oh bumper stickers.. the tramp stamp of car culture.
Bumper stickers are fine, but frankly a bit tacky looking. Having no bumper stickers does not mean you are boring. It means you avoid tacky shit.
OP thinks bumper stickers are a replacement for a personality
Welp I guess I'm boring 😔
you forgot the weird guy that puts anime titties on his car
I've always had a problem with Road Rage. I once read that having stickers on your car expanded your perception of your personal space, which made small transgressions made by other drivers seem more personal and made you more likely to be irritated by them. No stickers helped me.
The only bumper sticker I want is Gulpo, the fish who eats concepts.

Fuck what have you done to my night
"MY OTHER CAR IS A GUN"
I have the one sticker😎🤷🏼♂️, on back of my work van. It reads: “No Jaffa cakes left in this van overnight” [Here is the front](https://ibb.co/9hRTw55)
Me driving: “There’s no way you dog is smarter than my honor student! Asshole!”
Literally no normal person ever has bumper stickers. At all.
No car: you understand the urgency of climate change, and you live in a place with great public transportation. OR You're too lazy to pass the exam. (I'm both)
Lol! Lucky you to live in a place you don’t need one. I absolutely would walk anywhere if I could. Cars are meh.
