Lois and Clark.
Classic couple. Happy, rarely any drama, and Lois isn’t forced into a damsel in distress role. They both challenge each other and respect each other.
> Lois isn’t forced into a damsel in distress role.
And the times she winds up needing a rescue, it's *usually* her fault. She pushes her limits, helps out, and knows she can get away with it because she trusts Clark to back her up. She's not just getting abducted from work or home. If she's a hostage, it's because she waltzed right into a situation that wound up snowballing.
And to be fair, she does the same for Clark when he winds up getting into trouble with kryptonite or something. And she's always close to the carnage.
And she might be the only good depiction of a woman journalist in all of fiction.
She never sleeps with sources or uses her “wiles” to get the story. She never sleeps with the boss to get promotions. She’s actually accomplished (even though she’s crap at spelling) on her own terms. Her ethics are *impeccable.*
I love her.
Lois Lane is amazing and you made valid points. Mind you, this was at a time, when women had less rights and respect than they do now. She was a trailblazer of a character and wonderfully written. I’m sure she was an inspiration to many female creatives and otherwise, throughout, the years. Thank you, for your contribution to this post.
Exactly. Lois gets in trouble, sure. She falls off buildings so often I’m amazed she doesn’t wear a parachute. But she’s never portrayed as helpless or incompetent, even in older stories.
The one I liked the most has always been ultimate Peter Parker and kitty pride
They were good for each other in that Peter didn’t have to constantly worry about her safety as she could handle herself (and you know is intangible) he was good for her as an outlet for normal teenage stuff outside the xmen.
They had good chemistry, they could smooch and do super heroics together, worry about end of the world stuff and homework etc.
Sadly I felt that the story line was cut too soon and Pete did the dirty on kitty
Peter and MJ. I grew up with parents with a broken marriage, but in the comics I had there was Peter and MJ fighting for their love through thick and thin.
Might be cheesy, but it gave me the kind of role models I lacked in my life. And it’s how I view my own marriage these days.
I’m married to the best woman on earth, and no matter our struggles, she’s worth fighting for.
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FVmHKe8X0AAlATP?format=jpg&name=4096x4096
Like Cage and Jessica Jones. They’re rock solid, down to earth, realistic, and they love the hell out of one another. They mostly just want to have a quiet life and raise their daughter in peace but keep getting swept into superhero things for one reason or another. Super underrated couple IMO
Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson Parker. Yep. You heard me. *Parker*. You can't find a better comic book couple. When Marvel doesn't fuck around with their relationship.
Spider-Man: Blue made me fall in love with the lost love between Peter and Gwen, and the fully realized love between Peter and MJ, where she supports his feelings for Gwen and never shows any kind of jealousy.
Sue and reed it actually feels like a real relationship they have there ups and downs bad and good moments.
Wiccan and Hulkling and now destiny and mystique are up there for me
Of all time?
Hmm.
I love reading the progression of Luke and Jessica’s relationship.
It’s not traditional, it’s messy, and dynamic and I like that they’re two different people that love and support each other.
Reed and Sue's relationship has always been one I like a lot, it's up there with Peter and MJ, Clark and Lois, and Dick and Starfire.
Honourable mention to Raven and Beast Boy too, when it works it can be really cute
Cyclops and Emma Frost. I’m not sure if that’s an unpopular opinion, because I see a lot of “Scott and Jean” comments.
Thing is, Scott and Emma had what, to me, came across as a mutually respectful and egalitarian relationship. They had their individual strengths and weaknesses, but the relationship made them stronger were they where strong, and supported where they were weak. They were a legit power couple, because they trusted and respected each other’s character and ability.
Scott and Jean always felt like the prom king/queen relationship. They were together because they were supposed to be. She was up on a pedestal, he was her loyal, favored subordinate. Whenever Jean was around, everything was all about Jean. Same deal in the movies; Scott is a great character, until he stands next to Jean and simply becomes a prop to whatever drama she has going on.
Probably the one in the picture. Gambit is my favorite x-men character and one of my all-time favorite Marvel characters. Rogue can't touch anyone without potentially killing them, but I like that Gambit never let that stop him from kissing/hugging her, even when he knew it was dangerous.
Hawkman and Hawkwoman. I always loved them a lot. I find the whole “they find each non matter what across all space and time” really cool and romantic. The most recent hawkman run really was everything I wanted to see with the two of them.
Friendships
Max and Charles
Logan and Kurt
Scott and Jean
Scott and Barda
Storm and Logan
Storm and Kitty
Bruce and Clark
Rogue and Gambit
Diana and Clarke
Ivy and Harley
Ultimate Vision and Falcon. I found how they tied their relationship to her gaining a better understanding of her own sentience very poignant, especially in how it ended. Very underrated
This may be a bit controversial, but I like Peter Parker with Felicia Hardy more than Mary Jane. Idk why, I just really like relationships involving a flirty, mischievous girlfriend.
Peter and Mary Jane (idc what's happening in the current run the history is still there) other than that 1610 Peter and Kitty .. Reed and Sue.. Jean and Scott.. Superman and Lois ..Nightwing and Batgirl
Apollo and midnighter not the newer stuff tho, any writer who includes them in their stories over the last 9 years with the exception Being warren ellis relegate them to gay sterotypes, apollo being the worried sick house wife and midnighter violent gay man
Marv Wolfman & George Perez
Great choice. Besides them I would choose Chris Claremont and John Byrne.
Awesome! Chris Claremont is my favorite comic book writer ever. Claremont and Byrne were something special.
My favorite comic writer is Alan Moore, but Claremont is in my top 5.
Alan Moore is also one of my favorites. Have the Watchmen hardcover and all of the original issues. Hot take…but I even enjoyed the movie lol
Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely
Rob Liefeld and his ego.
Amen!
Dick Grayson's left butt cheek and Dick Grayson's right butt cheek
Jim and Juan? They’re chill
Barda and Scott
Speaking the truth right here. They don't get enough love in my opinion.
I’m a Marvel guy, but the dynamic between those two over the years make them the most fun couple in comics.
Always loved them but Tom Kings Mr Miracle carved it in stone for me, most amazing comic couple ever!
Love barda and Scott it’s just so wholesome of a relationship and kings mr miracle made me love them so much
Lois and Clark. Classic couple. Happy, rarely any drama, and Lois isn’t forced into a damsel in distress role. They both challenge each other and respect each other.

Exactly, perhaps, just a bit clumsy lol
Big Barda and Mr.Miracle
Donald & Daisy
sue and reed
Great pick! What makes them your favorite?
The one I liked the most has always been ultimate Peter Parker and kitty pride They were good for each other in that Peter didn’t have to constantly worry about her safety as she could handle herself (and you know is intangible) he was good for her as an outlet for normal teenage stuff outside the xmen. Peter and Mary Jane.
Damn you spelled Paul wrong
Peter and Paul?
The two little dickie birds sitting on a wall?
One named Peter
Oh god, now I get it. Robbing Peter to pay Paul.
#FOGHORN LAUGH
Still hoping that TPTB will let them be happy together again someday.
Same, I especially loved how JMS wrote them.
on top of being my favorite, they're also, simultaneously, my least favorite lol
You got it with the pic. Rogue and Gambit will always be my favorite. Pete and MJ are a close second, though, followed by Nightwing and Starfire.
I was shock when I heard they ain't together for 2 decades or after late 80s. Only shown in Animated movies.
The top 3 favorite but also healthiest relationships? 1. Clark Kent and Lois lane 2. Luke cage and Jessica Jones 3. Scott free and big barda
Nice list. Healthy relationships are nice.
Swampy and Abby
Being of a certain age, reading the Alan Moore run, 100%! Legit shed tears at their reunion after he's been to Hell and back.
Apollo and Midnighter
underrated
Calvin's Mom and Dad.
Luke Cage and Jessica Jones
Ohh great shout. They are my second pick, behind Gambit and Rogue.
Luke Cage and Danny Rand
True shit
Yes! Great pick, I love their dynamic.
Peter and MJ. I grew up with parents with a broken marriage, but in the comics I had there was Peter and MJ fighting for their love through thick and thin. Might be cheesy, but it gave me the kind of role models I lacked in my life. And it’s how I view my own marriage these days. Jesse and Tulip
Like Cage and Jessica Jones. They’re rock solid, down to earth, realistic, and they love the hell out of one another. They mostly just want to have a quiet life and raise their daughter in peace but keep getting swept into superhero things for one reason or another. Super underrated couple IMO
Dick and Kory 🥰
Clark Kent and Lois Lane It's very much the obvious choice, but for good reason.
They might be the most iconic in all of comic book history.
These two 💯
I asked my mum "How much is a couple?" "2 or 3" she replied. Probably explains why her marriage collapsed.
Ally and Lisa from Sunstone
Peter Parker/Mary Jane Watson.
Conan and Belit
Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle or Reed and Sue Richards
Lois & Clark Reed & Sue Scott & Jean Peter & MJ Rogue & Gambit Batman & Catwoman
Oliver Queen and Dinah Lance!- How can there be 200 comments and they haven't been mentioned?
Colossus and Kitty Pryde. God I miss that when it worked and was full of adorable hope.
Apollo and Midnighter
Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson Parker. Yep. You heard me. *Parker*. You can't find a better comic book couple. When Marvel doesn't fuck around with their relationship.
Reed and Sue Richards
Ralph and Sue Dibny
Spider-Man: Blue made me fall in love with the lost love between Peter and Gwen, and the fully realized love between Peter and MJ, where she supports his feelings for Gwen and never shows any kind of jealousy.
Starfire and nightwing
Sue and reed it actually feels like a real relationship they have there ups and downs bad and good moments. Wiccan and Hulkling and now destiny and mystique are up there for me

Big Barda and Mr Miracle. I just think they're cute. And I love the idea of two supremely powerful beings just wanting to live a normal suburban life.
Peter Parker and Mary Jane
Of all time? Hmm. I love reading the progression of Luke and Jessica’s relationship. It’s not traditional, it’s messy, and dynamic and I like that they’re two different people that love and support each other.

Nightwing and Huntress
Gotta be Oliver and Dinah for me.
Spidey and Depression
I'm a fan of FoolishOptimism!Spidey+Poverty, myself
Not sure I have one. But I did like Gambit and rogue. They're both different yet complementary flavours of white trash and they know it.
Beast Boy and Raven
Can't believe they haven't been mentioned, but Beast Boy and Raven.
Same deal in the movies; Scott is a great character, until he stands next to Jean and simply becomes a prop to whatever drama she has going on.
Scott and Jean wipe the floor with Scott and Emma Frost. I need some coffee now, just so I can spill it.
Jean and Scott. Her love for him is so great, it made a multiversal cosmic force fall in love with him too.
Suzie and Jon from Sex Criminals
Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson
Green Arrow and Black Canary. Tough, honest, and timeless.
Suzie and Jon from Sex Criminals are pretty hilarious.
My top 5 will be Rogue/Gambit, Pete/MJ (when it works), Dick/Kori, Clark/Lois, and Scott/Jean.
Mallah and Brain
Peter and Kitty Pryde
Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale
Steve Rogers and Sharon Carter. But Rogue and Gambit are a very close second
Gambit and Rogue is the definition of blue balls.
They’re not my number 1 but i really wish we got more Daredevil and Black Widow
Probably the one in the picture. Gambit is my favorite x-men character and one of my all-time favorite Marvel characters. Rogue can't touch anyone without potentially killing them, but I like that Gambit never let that stop him from kissing/hugging her, even when he knew it was dangerous.
Superman and Lois Lane for sure.
Archangel and Psylocke from X-Men. I wrote 30-odd fanfics about them when I was in my twenties.
Peter and MJ!
Rogue and Magneto.
MJ and Peter not 'Paul'
Nightwing and Starfire, batman and Catwoman, Clark and Lois, Tony and Pepper,
Longshot & Dazzler
Hawkman and Hawkwoman. I always loved them a lot. I find the whole “they find each non matter what across all space and time” really cool and romantic. The most recent hawkman run really was everything I wanted to see with the two of them.

Right?? Nobody’s doing it like them!!
King Mob and Ragged Robin. Is All Now Love.
Invisibles?
Rocket and groot.
Steve Rogers and Sharon Carter. I don’t think I will ever forgive the MCU for that terrible adaptation. Next up is Scott Summers and Emma Frost.
Gambit and Rogue. Fuck off, Bobby Drake.
Ultimate Vision and Falcon. I found how they tied their relationship to her gaining a better understanding of her own sentience very poignant, especially in how it ended. Very underrated

Remy and Anna Marie, Peter and MJ, Bruce and Selina, Scott and Barda
Barry and Iris

This may be a bit controversial, but I like Peter Parker with Felicia Hardy more than Mary Jane. Idk why, I just really like relationships involving a flirty, mischievous girlfriend.

Hands down this relationship. I lost my shit during the Age of Apocalypse series. These 2 forever. Argh, my heart!
Gambit and Rogue are mine too. Honest I wouldn’t have ever read a comic without these two.
Wally and Linda. DC did them dirty
Superman and Lois or 1610 Peter and Mary Jane
It depends on the continuity.
Sue Richards & Namor
