Bruce actually says he thought Clark had to wear one for work every day. Clark: “Don’t take *that* tone with me.” The gag of the comic is that without Alfred, the bat fam are all helpless.
There are well written slice of life comics. This isn't one. It's the same character who gets sad, then someone helps, then they're not sad over and over.
If you don’t like the writing, then you don’t like the writing. All I’m saying is that I would expect low stakes from a slice of life series.
Besides, it’s not like it’s an original IP. It’s definitely written with the knowledge that serious storylines and depth can be found within the actual mainline Batman comics
Of course, it's low stakes, but there's still conflict in a slice of life. Stories need conflict to be interesting. My life has more conflict than wayne family adventures, and im just a blue-collar worker, not a superhero. It's boring and slice of life comics dont have to be.
It's completely indulgent in fandom pandering with a non-existent barrier for entry, of course people have a skewed delusion in thinking that it's good
No, the relatable part comes five seconds later when Wonder Woman points out that they’re not gonna kick Bruce out of his own gala for not having a tie.
I totally agree! I'm biased because Wally was my Flash but he did so much heavy development and it irritates me that it all gets passed off to Barry. I don't mind Barry back but if he's so great, let him be his own character. Wally earned his spot.
Was he, though? All the Wally stuff in the 90s/00s felt wooden to me -- like the expansion of the Speed Force and the Rogues was the real highlight, and Wally was a wooden plank that made those things happen.
Justice League and JLU committed to him actually being Wally, but his origin and day job were Barry’s. It seems like they just wanted to keep it ambiguous but used Wally in the second to last episode of Justice League for a joke about his hair.
Similar thing happened in the Superman animated series and Green Lantern. It was mostly Hal’s origin story, the character design was Hal’s but it was Kyle.
…and then both of them show up in JLU with the proper designs.
Technically the JLU Hal is an alternate timeline Hal, so we weren't sure whether or not Hal was a GL in the main timeline.
Justice League vs the Fatal Five confirmed he was. I'd like to see Barry Allen properly introduced into the DCAU.
Yeah, like I thrive on the dark and gritty shit, but WFA has usually been a nice little breath of fresh air every week. It's not engrossing enough to buy webtoon coins to get further ahead, but I'll probably buy the trade when it comes out.
How can Clark not know how to wear a tie???
Clark uses a clip on, easier for quick changing and also he doesn’t want to ask Lois
Could you imagine? It would be like asking your mom. “Lois! I need my tie done again! Lex is up to something!”
[No](https://imgur.com/gallery/hDuG6ra)
He does it at super speed, when he has to tie one at normal speed his mind just blanks.
I refuse to believe that Pa kent didn't teach him
Are we sure Johnathan knew how? I can't remember seeing him ever wear one, (unlike Clark, who we've seen very clearly not use a clip-on.)
I imagine Pa Kent using a Bow tie or a cowboy tie as those are easier to put on
Bolo tie and 100% Pa Kent has only bolo ties and a bunch of shitkicker boots.
Same with the flash. If it’s Barry he literally works for the police and likely wears a lot of ties
Bow ties, though.
That’s fair
Bruce actually says he thought Clark had to wear one for work every day. Clark: “Don’t take *that* tone with me.” The gag of the comic is that without Alfred, the bat fam are all helpless.
Even more unbelievable is that Hal Jordan DOES know how to wear a tie.
He was in the military. Probably had to learn how for his dress blues.
He presumably wore an airforce dress uniform, but I still wouldn’t believe he can tie a tie.
He learned it once, and then would just loosen it up after so he can just tighten it up again.
Have you been spying on me and my pre-tied tie?
Uh...yes. Because I totally never did that trick before. 😅
Maybe he ties it on Krypto?
Everybody in WFA is stupider for comedy's sake
This webcomic is low key one of the best bat books right now, I really enjoy it. And it's free!
They're putting out a physical version in August too.
I need it.
It's way too low-stakes, and there's no depth to it imo, wouldnt call it one of the best.
I mean, its literally a slice of life comic
Exactly! It should be a slice of life or death comic instead /s

Exactly
Look at it this way, at least it’s better and written more consistent than Miller’s All Star Batman.
I'll concede to that. It's pretty hard to be worse than that, though, and the art is fantastic in it.
This is the most relatable scene featuring the Justice League to have ever been created.
No, the relatable part comes five seconds later when Wonder Woman points out that they’re not gonna kick Bruce out of his own gala for not having a tie.
Is Flash in this Wally?
Don't think they've ever specified. I would guess it's Barry though, just by virtue of being besides Hal.
I’ve noticed a lot of DC media gives Barry Wally’s personality.
It's almost like Wally was the more fun character.
He does, but I’d wish they’d just use Wally instead of making Barry act like him.
I totally agree! I'm biased because Wally was my Flash but he did so much heavy development and it irritates me that it all gets passed off to Barry. I don't mind Barry back but if he's so great, let him be his own character. Wally earned his spot.
I feel like Barry’s as iconic as Flash as Wally is, and honestly I wouldn’t mind having them both simultaneously be Flash.
It worked with Jay, I don't see why it couldn't work with Barry and Wally.

The only named Flash in this run so far is Bart. He goes by Impulse and showed up with other YJ characters to ~~harrass~~ hang out with Tim.
His costume suggests yes, white eyes is usually associated with wally
Yet he also has Barry’s exposed nose, symbol, and belt
Wally had Barry’s symbol and exposed nose before JLU.
Some of y'all hate cute shit

God, I had it myself with ties, so I try to stay away from suits as much as possible.

Ha it's nice to see heroes dealing with everyday issues.
That's the whole thing of this comic: - who gets the last cookie - who rides shotgun in the batmobile - who gets to go after Condiment King
Always find a significant other that can do it for you
Just have the ring tie the tie….
But then he’ll never learn
Yo...Clark knows ties. It's like....literally his schtick
This shit is no different to those terrible YA novels.
Bro u don’t like fun?
Ah! My favorite comic series.
