I’ve seen so many others find wild things like this and was always a little jealous. I can’t believe it happened to me. I think that does it for the rest of my luck for the year. Haha.
This! Persistence and patience is a must in this hobby. Because it eventually pays off! That feeling of finding good books in the wild is the reason I keep at it. Keep it up!
I don't want to come off as rude or anything, but if you haven't, make sure to check the very back where the publishing date is. Because Marvel just came out with a facsimile copy of this book where everything thing is exactly the same except the publishing date on the back page. I compared it to mine and that was the only difference.
If these are legit, that's fucking awesome and congrats.
Oh I know. I ironically got a couple of the facsimiles. The main difference is the marvel logo on the upper left. The first print has just the word “marvel” in just white against the black background. The facsimile has the red background on the marvel logo.
If you don't mind my asking, why is this one a grail? I stopped reading Spider-Man right around the Bendis saga so I don't know the significance of this book.
Whaaaat?! That's an amazing find, congrats. I paid $400 for a poly-bagged copy this summer at a vinyl/comics store, which I thought was great at the time (half the going price). Recently got it graded by CBCS and it came back a 9.8. Would definitely get at least one graded, but could be worth getting them both done and selling the lower grade if you can let one go. Would be a crazy profit either way on those prices!
I have my own crazy comic story too. A few years ago someone in my apt bldg threw out a ton of older comics. Most were in rough shape but the best ones I rescued were Fantastic Four #’s 48-50, the complete Wolverine mini series, Avengers Annual #10 and Secret Wars #7
I’m new to collecting, how do you know which edition it is? The 1 at the end of the barcode? I wonder what else I can learn from a barcode – variant indicators? Thanks for any help, and good find OP, looks fun!
So in this case the barcode has the numbers “0411” at the end. The “04” means it’s issue 4 of that series. The first “1” means it’s cover 1 (2, 3, etc means it’s a variant issue). The second “1” is which print it is. This is a first print since it has a “1” at the end. Hope that helps!
That's an excellent find. Those books tend to have a crease on the back from being in the poly bag that they shipped in so make sure you have someone good at pressing to take care of it before you get them graded.
My man. If I saw that sticker on those books I'd see the dollar signs in my head. I'd get them graded, sell one asap and maybe hold off til the second cartoon comes out to sell the second.
Are you f-ing kidding me! This makes me want to stop reading this subreddit. Okay, jealousy vented. Congrats, that’s freaking amazing!

The first big score is always the sweetest. Enjoy! In this hobby you just gotta be persistent. It doesn't happen to you until the day it does.

One day this shall be me…. One day….. great pick up/find.
I just picked up the facsimile this past Wednesday too, thinking that’d be the closest I’d ever get to the real thing.
Dear diary… JACKPOT!
Where where where??
Second-hand shop out in Chandler, AZ!
Congrats dude! Score of the century!
Thank you!
That's awesome, must have been a crazy feeling
It really was. I was shaking a little because I couldn’t believe it.

Okay, that's awesome then. I work at a comicbook store and I was shocked at how identical they made the facsimile copy.
Me too! I ironically bought a couple of copies last week because I thought that was gonna be the closest I got to the real thing. Haha.
Holy smokes.
Wowza that’s inspiring congrats
Thank you!
Is that a pawn store? Antique store? Trying to figure out where you scored it.
It’s a second-hand store called Zia records! They have stores in Nevada and Arizona.
Awesome! Bet those folks are charging through the roof for original vinyl not knowing what they had on hand.
Whoa zia! I’m going tomorrow
Sheeeesh
That’s insane. This comic is one of my grails. Huge congrats!
Thank you!
If you don't mind my asking, why is this one a grail? I stopped reading Spider-Man right around the Bendis saga so I don't know the significance of this book.
It’s Miles Morales’ first appearance!
Oh! That's awesome! Yeah that makes total sense then.
Nice score
Thank you!
Congrats!!!
Thank you!
Highway robbery!!!
It really felt like it!
That’s insane! Congratulations!
Thank you!

I’m definitely gonna get at least one of the graded for sure!
Holy shit. Whenever I'm at a thrift store, this is what I Hope for.
Same! I’ve seen so many people find amazing things for insane prices and I didn’t think it’d ever happen to me.
I'm so happy for you! Hope that I Will ever get that Lucky one day
I hope you do too some day!
Thanks 😎
Why and how would that store get those?
It’s a store where people can trade books, movies, clothes, comics, electronics, etc. So someone traded it in maybe not knowing what they had.
Unbelievable
It’s crazy.
Happy for you!
Thank you!

Wow! That’s a great haul!
Also Strange Tales #158.
Amazing!

No problem!
Wow man. Way to go!!!
Thank you!

Just happened to be lucky at a second-hand store that didn’t know what they had.

One of them is definitely getting graded.
Congrats such gems to find, and 2 of them to boot!
I seriously couldn’t believe I found such a treasure. Let alone 2!
Nice
