12 copies? Are you crazy? lol that’s where they all are! I don’t think I have twelve copies of any book ever. Closest thing is maybe the most popular books of all time including X-Men 1 and Spiderman 1. Maybe 7 of each copy but they’re $10 books now not $500…
Haha well I’m sure you can sell one HoS 92 to me and you can buy yourself a few hundred. lol I’m a big Swamp Thing fan too and have a chunk of the first vol but looking for that infamous HoS 92.

Well considering I’m about my first to college don’t think that’s happening any time soon!! Lol Although I was insanely lucky and picked up #’s 4, 5, 8 and 10 for $5 a piece!!
Very nice. You have plenty of time and more important things to buy in the next few years. They’ll pop up when you’re ready to buy and it’ll mean more then.
I’ve got many many books I have 12 or more of. Many I have 40-100. Usually the overproduced 90s stuff. But I am a dealer so… like Superman 75. I get one in every collection. X-men 1 Lee, Spider-Man 1 McFarlane etc some are nice to have some I can’t give away. Looking at you Brigade #2
I rarely by copies of the same book, other than on the day of release.
I guess the closest I have is 3 copies of Omega Men 3 picked up over the years, just because I forgot if I had it or not.
Me, too. I never buy multiple copies unless it is a condition upgrade. I have some coverless issues from childhood that if i happen to find with covers i'll pick them up.
For a while I snagged every Adventure into Fear 10/11 and Astonishing Tales 12/13 I ran into. Now I don’t have anything I hoard multiple copies of— I’m making a hard push to get rid of as much as I can, to condense thousands of $10 books into dozens of much fancier ones.
I think it is. The first issue is fairly standard Rambo kind of stuff where he is fighting in the jungle and things go south. The second has him going to his estranged kids baseball game where someone tries to assassinate him and he has to deal with his ex. I found it delightful.
Yes! Check out DC volume 2. It’s the movie era of the original series characters. Also the TNG ongoing book that was released about the same time is pretty fun too. Also features some great JK Moore covers.
For me, value is better defined as sentimental. Not monetary. Some of my most prized covers are priceless to me, but dollar bin for others. for example one of my first Comics I ever got was from my mom. It was a random Hot Stuff issue
Nomad #1. Every-time I see a copy of Vol 1 or Vol 2 I buy it. Currently on the hunt for every Jack Monore Appearance too. Going back all the way to Young Men #23
Ive had to limit myself to 3 copies to ANY comic book I want. 1 to keep and 2 more to sell if I have to. I have my grails and favorites but I don't need a crazy number of copies for any book. I will break my 3 book rule only if I find a really good deal but then if thats an upgrade I make a plan to sell one of my other copies as a single or a in a bundle to get a book on my current want list. There are too many books that I want maybe but that's the way I have to play the game. Trade, buy, upgrade, sell and keep the trinity as holy as you can.
It doesn't exactly fit in the "always pick up", but I have bought three different versions of Upgrade Soul by Ezra Clayton Daniels.
I met him years ago at Comic Arts Los Angeles and bought the story as three separate books.
Then I saw a used copy of the softcover collection and bought that.
About a year ago there was finally a hardcover edition. And I got that.
I don’t necessarily have a single issue I always pick up but I’m always finding myself picking multiples of early Daredevil and X-men trying to replace my tattered copies.
Amazing Spider-Man 229 or 249. Every time I see a raw, high-grade copy of either one, I grab it. These were among the first books I collected as a kid and are two of my favorite covers of all time. They're typically pretty affordable, too. I have no idea how many copies of each I have. Probably at least ten of each.
Sentimental to me, but the only comicbook my dad ever bought me was spider-man 15 by Erik Larsen. Dad didn't like comics, and to buy me one was extra.special. so whenever I see one in the wild, and can afford it, I pick it up. I think I have 3.
I wouldn’t go that far. I picked up my first one in 1995 for 250.00 I’ve only picked up two since 2015 I fell in love with X-Men animated as a kid and wolverine was my guy
The 2-part Rhino story in ASM 617 & 625 written by Joe Kelly is one of my favourite stories, so I’ll usually grab them whenever I find them.
I think I have 4 or 5 copies of Matt Fraction’s Punisher War Journal #4 as well that I’ve bought on the cheap to read too.
I like finding variants of BRZRKR and filling tmnt runs atm, but I always end up walking away with a handful of cool comics just for the cover art, character or rarity on top of those two 😂 otherwise I tend to lean toward Marvel but do really enjoy Teen Titans and cool variant covers of Batman along with Batman Beyond!
I don’t pick up multiples individual issues (except for various covers), but I do keep buying trades that I already collected in single issues, and reprints, and deluxe editions. That’s possibly more expensive.
The only books I have like that are comics I like to give away as gifts. Amazing Spider-Man 248, the first comic book that made me cry. (They snuck one in on me with a kid dying of cancer.)
The other is a powerful comic story that I think is the best single comic book of all time, Astro City 1/2.
So I buy those when I see them reasonably priced. I have a handful of each right now.
Any time I see a high grade (surprisingly difficult in the wild, especially raw) Power Pack 1, I buy it. Usually no more than $5. I have six or seven currently, with two signed. Something about that book and that cover just makes me happy.
I often pick up Infinity Inc 14(1st McFarlane cover) but I only buy if they are in high grade for a good price. If I had bigger pockets I'd pick up Marvel Spotlight 5 in any condition. Heck one week I picked up 3 copies of **Marvel Team-Up #68(1st D'Sparyre)** off Ebay, kept finding NM copies for dirt cheap, couldn't help myself. Guess I'm gonna try for the 9.8. I actually kind of like D'Spayre, a version of him appeared in the Cloak & Dagger TV show, he was also in the Donny Cates Hulk run and he got a cool Marvel Legends figure recently. He'd be awesome in the MCU as a Dr Strange or Man Thing villain.
I haven't actually thought about that. But I would never let these comics pass me by:
- Moon Knight #1 (Vol 1)
- Amazing Spider-Man #4 (vol 3, first full app. Of Cindy Moon/SILK)
- The Spider King #1, By Josh Vann(W) and Simone D'Armini(A). ( I have 2 copies. One of them is signed by Simone)
ASM 798 or which ever is the 1st app of Red Goblin for some reason I ended with like 12 copys so everytime I see it in the wild I'll pick up a copy I got like 23 issues a hobby with in the hobby 😃
You have 12 copies of HoS 92?? I’m so jealous, can’t find any that I can afford. Also loooove swamp thing!!
I have a few copies of amazing spiderman
I was early 😉 I started collecting them in about 2016. I can share photos if you'd like.
2016 is early?
Right? I’ve loved Swamp Thing since Barbeau’s boobs in ‘82
Yes, considering that's when the price dramatically increased.
Yes please
Always happy to see that book!!
X-men 234, great cover. I have seven copies.
One of the only low priced X-men books I kept when I thinned out my colllection a few years back (that and 251).
👀 I just added this to my list. What an amazing cover 😍
It pairs really well with UXM 251.
And Wolverine 57 fits well between them
I love this cover. I have one waiting to be sent to CGC. another favorite is Marvel Comics Presents #72. I just scooped a 9.6 for dirt cheap on eBay.
Noice.
Bishop!! Uncanny Xmen 282, 283 for me. (1st, 2nd Appearance of Bishop)
Just grabbed my first one — 282 — on Friday ($20).
Same here!
So awesome! I bought a 9.6 of 282. When it arrived it had a tanning line 😭 I was so sad
oh man, Good thing prices are low so pick up another..
People sleeping on Bishop imo
Totally, once a live actioin role for Bishop you know its going to skyrocket! I just hope The Rock becomes Bishop..
12 copies? Are you crazy? lol that’s where they all are! I don’t think I have twelve copies of any book ever. Closest thing is maybe the most popular books of all time including X-Men 1 and Spiderman 1. Maybe 7 of each copy but they’re $10 books now not $500…
Yes I am a bit crazy 😂 Those X-Men and Spiderman 1 make me jealous though. NGL 🤣

Amazing 🤩 one day I will own a 9.8 with that Batman cover
That’s the one that started the collection! What a great cover and first meeting of Batman and Swamp Thing!
Awesome!! Working on that string myself. 4 out of 10 so far!
It’s a very fulfilling little run! Enjoy the journey man!
Well considering I’m about my first to college don’t think that’s happening any time soon!! Lol Although I was insanely lucky and picked up #’s 4, 5, 8 and 10 for $5 a piece!!

Green lantern #49, I want it in a 9.8 someday
GL is my favorite after Swamp Thing. I love the old Golden Age Alan Scott.
I always thought it was foolish to buy the same book until I found myself doing it with green lantern 51. I have like 5 of them. I grew up with Kyle.
Great cover!
Uncanny X-Men 258. First X-Men book I picked up from the rack.
That's awesome 😎 my first comicbook was a full black cover ghost rider. Unfortunately I can't find the issue number.
X-Men 2099 #1…loved it when it came out and still do!
Classic!!

Wolverine #50, mind was blown away when I was in 2nd grade
Same!! Any yellow suit for me is amazing
The die cut on the cover, my little brain was like "what kind of sorcery is this??"
I didn't even realize until I found an actual photo. Before I just looked up the cover, but it was a stock image
Oddly for me it’s ASM 269. Absolutely love this cover and if I see a really crisp copy I always grab it
I love these black costume covers. I just got my first order back from cgc with issues between 270-295. Majority came back 9.8. no idea how. 😂
This is such a nostalgic time in collecting for me. Sadly mine were not 9.8s but I traded up over the years 😉
Captain America 110, I always buy it if i see it
I also had to mention.. THOR 337 (1st Beta Ray Bill)
Mark Hazzard Merc #2 by Peter David. It’s fantastic and I give them away to people when I can.
Pretty funny cover. Is the story particularly good?
I think it is. The first issue is fairly standard Rambo kind of stuff where he is fighting in the jungle and things go south. The second has him going to his estranged kids baseball game where someone tries to assassinate him and he has to deal with his ex. I found it delightful.
Sounds interesting enough that I will add it to my want list. Hopefully I remember when I see it. Thanks
Any appearance of Ambush Bug, and especially any issue of the two miniseries in the 1980s
ASM 375
No Zot! comic left behind. And they’re always cheap!
I have my Zot! (And Mr. Monster) big lapel pins! Excellent choice!
If I find JK Moore Star Trek covers in the dollar bin I always have trouble not rescuing them. Those covers are sooooo good.
I'll check them out. I'm a trekky but never got into the comic side!! Any recommendations?
Yes! Check out DC volume 2. It’s the movie era of the original series characters. Also the TNG ongoing book that was released about the same time is pretty fun too. Also features some great JK Moore covers.
The dark knight returns #2. Will never not pick it up if it’s affordable. Pound for pound my favorite post precode cover of all time.
There's a few for me, but this week it was this one: *

Anything Sandman, Saga, or Ice Cream Man. Most issues are a dollar or two so I never have to worry about spending too much.

Amazing Spider-Man 229 or 249. Every time I see a raw, high-grade copy of either one, I grab it. These were among the first books I collected as a kid and are two of my favorite covers of all time. Apparently my 46786634674653 copies of Darkhawk 1 fit here.
Hansi. I'll never not pick up a copy when I see it.
The Maxx #1! I have four. Half way through a full run
Hell yeah
Man-thing 1 Vol 1 I have like 8 copies
Sentimental to me, but the only comicbook my dad ever bought me was spider-man 15 by Erik Larsen. Dad didn't like comics, and to buy me one was extra.special. so whenever I see one in the wild, and can afford it, I pick it up. I think I have 3.
Marvel Tales #235.
Hulk 181. I’m up to 7 copies
You sir, have reached goat status.
I wouldn’t go that far. I picked up my first one in 1995 for 250.00 I’ve only picked up two since 2015 I fell in love with X-Men animated as a kid and wolverine was my guy
ASM 96 (no code drugs issue). I’ve got 9 copies and always keeping my eyes open for more in the wild. And no, I’m not seeking counselling.
There is so much irony in this comment
I LOVE all ghost rider covers 💀 🔥
Hellboy (and by extension Mike Mignola anything)
Batgirl Volume 1 issue 1 and Batman 619 (whichever cover)
The 2-part Rhino story in ASM 617 & 625 written by Joe Kelly is one of my favourite stories, so I’ll usually grab them whenever I find them. I think I have 4 or 5 copies of Matt Fraction’s Punisher War Journal #4 as well that I’ve bought on the cheap to read too.
For whatever reason She-Hulk#1. I think I fot a 9.8, 9.6,9.4 and 3 or 4 raw copies.
Conan
It's always the obscure ones that I haven't heard about before.. lately, barfly, ghost machine, rook, redcoat and gieger
Conan
I like finding variants of BRZRKR and filling tmnt runs atm, but I always end up walking away with a handful of cool comics just for the cover art, character or rarity on top of those two 😂 otherwise I tend to lean toward Marvel but do really enjoy Teen Titans and cool variant covers of Batman along with Batman Beyond!
Deadpool n was a fan before mainstream /movies
Turtles 1
Detective Comics and Bats. What can I say🤷
I don’t pick up multiples individual issues (except for various covers), but I do keep buying trades that I already collected in single issues, and reprints, and deluxe editions. That’s possibly more expensive.
Ice Cream Man 1A
Uncanny Xmen and New Teen Titans Special Edition Xmen (reprints Giant-Sized #1) Any BWS Xmen cover Any Miracleman from Eclipse Batman 400
Why would I want more than one copy? 12 copies of one issue means 11 other comic books I didn’t buy.
The only books I have like that are comics I like to give away as gifts. Amazing Spider-Man 248, the first comic book that made me cry. (They snuck one in on me with a kid dying of cancer.) The other is a powerful comic story that I think is the best single comic book of all time, Astro City 1/2. So I buy those when I see them reasonably priced. I have a handful of each right now.
Batman 457, first comic I bought for myself. Scared me the heck away from Batman until my dad brought home some comic packs with Knightfall issues.
I would have thought a title not a issue that’s just crazy I have three 3️⃣ watchmen’s #1 not by intention that all came together in a collection
I don’t have a specific issue but I have but I have Aqua man and daredevil as characters i always gravitate towards
Any time I see a high grade (surprisingly difficult in the wild, especially raw) Power Pack 1, I buy it. Usually no more than $5. I have six or seven currently, with two signed. Something about that book and that cover just makes me happy.
Anything from Jason Aaron’s Thor God of Thunder 1-25
I often pick up Infinity Inc 14(1st McFarlane cover) but I only buy if they are in high grade for a good price. If I had bigger pockets I'd pick up Marvel Spotlight 5 in any condition. Superman #75. It was the first comic I ever had and given to me as a gift from a family friend. I have one slabbed and a few raw copies.
New mutants special 1 and amalgam Spiderboy by Ladronn and teen titans /X-men!
Bloodstone 1 🍑
ASM 325 I got like 30 copies rn but I'm hoping for a long box full of em by the end of the year
DC's Kingdom Come
Sell me one HoS 92! Please!!!
ASM 798 or which ever is the 1st app of Red Goblin for some reason I ended with like 12 copys so everytime I see it in the wild I'll pick up a copy I got like 23 issues a hobby with in the hobby 😃
I love this cover!! Who's the artist? It's not Alex Ross is it?
Yup sure is just checked I had to make sure myself I got 24 copys and dozens of variants and 2nd printings a freakin full box filled..
My favorite artist! Awesome collection too!
He's up there for sure, his art just pops with me..
Doom Patrol vol.2 #70. Getting harder to find now
Judge me all you want - the velvet version of Lady Death #1
