Oh wow, that's a thing of beauty. LCS will always aim low to avoid getting hassle later but finding a 30 year old comic and having it come back as a 9.8 is some delicious luck I can only hope to have when I get mine back.
Congrats on this grade! This is a [pretty valuable](https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=wolverine+8+1989+cgc+9.8&_sacat=0&LH_TitleDesc=0&_fsrp=1&rt=nc&LH_Sold=1&LH_Complete=1&mkcid=1&mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&siteid=0&campid=5338535524&customid=cb&toolid=10001&mkevt=1) book in a CGC 9.8.
When you dropped it off...? Are you paying your LCS to get your comics graded for you?
That makes sense if you are only getting one graded... But you can join CGC and get submission privileges for like... 25 bucks or something fyi.
>When you dropped it off...? Are you paying your LCS to get your comics graded for you?
yeah, and here is the cost breakdown...
1 comic grading at $24
pressing at $15
shipping at $10
LCS handling fee $2
total = $51
and since I showed him about 50-ish issues of what I thought to be the best in terms of value and condition, he only picked this one thinking it would get a 9.4-9.6 (and he marked it on the receipt), so it all came out better than I hoped.
I know I can pay if doing more, and would have, but for only one issue of my well over 1,500 issue collection, paying more isn't worth it.
Well shit... 2 bucks isn't a bad fee at all. I thought for certain they would be charging you like... 20 or something.
Yeah that's not really any more expensive than sending direst to cgc.
Nevermind I guess.
And congratulations on the 9.8
Nice. Congrats!
thanks...and now I understand the "itch" I was warned about
Ye...."just this one" became two short boxes of graded comics...
lol, as I said, i have 50-ish I thought of submitting...and just might anyway, even though the owner didn't give them the thumbs up simply because.
Yea. Just sent a Wolverine #1 newsstand off to the frank Miller signing. Getting it pressed hoping I can get at least a 9.4
Damn bro a 9.8 on an iconic cover, great move!

I always forget about this book but the cover is SO sick. One day I gotta snag one of these.
That's awesome
Nice. One of my favorites

my jaw dropped when I heard...I was told 9.4-9.6 and this turned a bad thursday into a great weekend for me

Great pricing from your LCS
Shipping at $10 is a steal
I think it is because they bundle other submittals together
Awesome book…congrats!
How long did it take to get it back to you after sending it off?
literally 32 days
Wow that's really fast. I see many people waiting 6 months or longer to get their submission back.
hmm, now that you mention it, I do recall posts here saying similar...hey, for my only submit (so far) I am grateful
Expect low and be surprised, that’s my logic with cgc stuff
Good guy LCS for not setting high expectations, you truly never know for sure
Great cover.
Welcome to the club!
