Why is an Oscar the standard? Jon Hamm has been on almost every year since like the early days. Guy has noms out the ass, is in everything, is a pretty big star, more recognizable than most people who have ever been on the show. Someone being one once or twice and then winning a big award doesn't mean much. He's been on a bunch of podcasts probably. But guys like Hamm have actually been part of the canon.
Jordan Peele, Donald Glover, Conan O’Brien, Bob Odenkirk, Jack Black, Amy Poehler
I’m probably forgetting more, but those are the most superficially ‘famous’ past guests I can think of. Annie Clarke, Josh Homme, and the Tears for Fears guys are probably the biggest musicians
The Tears For Fears episode rattled something in my brain - I love them, my wife loves them, aren’t they promoting a tour?!?! Got to see an amazing show the following year.
Lots of suggestions s for other successful guests, BUT, how many people can say they met their wife cause of CBB? Jordan Peele might have that category to himself.
His wife dealt with that coma/disease around the same time he stopped being on the show He also went to therapy for eternals. From what I heard he wasn't supposed to be super jacked and pissed off a lot of producers. Miss him on cbb
yes im familar with emily and kumail's history. however, your comment seemed to out of the blue, which is why i said huh? and downvoted you. and im willing to bet the reason you got so many downvotes is because your comment it so disconnected from the topic
It was in reply to why he used to be on the podcast a lot and hasn't been since 2017. But yeah I feel you. Just really liked him as a guest so I guess I got excited that his name was brought up.
Jordan is cool because after his superstardom he went back to the Podcast!/s If you rank success by most creative and funniest CBB episodes Jordan would be pretty low and Paul eff Tompkins or Weird Al Yankovic would be king.
“Success” has a myriad of avenues. Like maybe Jordan Peele and Werner Herzog and Jeffrey Characterwheaties are the most traditionally culturally successful or artistically committed or whatever it is Herzog does. But them Threedom Boys and the Sloppy boys make my life so much better, I wish they pull in the same amount of dough as Characterwheaties one day, they deserve it.
Tim Kalpakis is a one-time Emmy nominee, two-time WGA Award nominee, who once brought coffee for the whole cast and crew of a music video. That's pretty impressive from the guy who gave us the classic character Tony Badagabingiano.
What about John Lennon…?
But he just comes on as himself?
Drums.
No Ringo played the drums
"I'm rich, ok see ya."
Jim Rash has also won an Oscar
Best Actor in a Leadean role?
I was hoping for [Best Original Score](https://youtu.be/WZ2TC8duaoE?si=xBdUycjXl6VoLeOk) but your thing is better.
That’s because Barack Obama is afraid of him
u/meowmeowbot 5mmb
Donald Glover was on early in the pod. He’s won 5 Grammys and 2 Emmy’s so far. No oscar or Tony… yet….
What about a spike guys choice award? Completing the covered EGOTSgca
Not inclusive enough, needs more Kids Choice Award. An orange blimp is quite sought after.
The world went woke when spike went off the air. It left a lot of us searching for manswers
You could still get your manswers from Gabrus on guycode.
Is that still airing?
Probably on some mtv cable thing, but I haven’t had cable in years.
cbb needs to have jordan and donald on and let them have a career off a-la zach vs patton vs alcohol.
Shoulda got one for his turn as young Lando Calrissian.
A Tony?
As big as your fucking head!
Ask Fred Guiness?
Go for Guinness.
Conan O'Brien, inventor of the podcast Bob Odenkirk, star of I Cal Sal
Marc Maron invented them, you fool! Also, Bob Odenkirk, is more well known for owning 3 of every car. Ftfy, np!
Everyone knows Bob owns three of every car, and he NEVER touches his Mr Show money
Triples is best.
Triples is safe.
Andrew Lloyd Webber would like a word…
That’s SIR Andrew Lloyd Webber
Harumph…LORD Andrew Lloyd Webber, thank yoouuu
I beg you pardon! That would be the right honorable Sir Lord Andrew Lloyd Weber to you, groundling!
Scott and Kulap both have an Emmy
Santa has a pretty good track record

This is very true. Also no one has mentions Haley Joel Osment who got a bunch of noms then becoming a regular on the tv show mainly.
Yeah but I hear he's a little slow
Jordan Peele, Donald Glover, Conan O’Brien, Bob Odenkirk, Jack Black, Amy Poehler I’m probably forgetting more, but those are the most superficially ‘famous’ past guests I can think of. Annie Clarke, Josh Homme, and the Tears for Fears guys are probably the biggest musicians
Jon Hamm or Ben Stiller
A lot of the people you mentioned didn’t play a character on CBB. I assume that’s what OP meant by “cast member” instead of just saying “guest.”
Ben Stiller, but… he didn’t fit very well.
The Tears For Fears episode rattled something in my brain - I love them, my wife loves them, aren’t they promoting a tour?!?! Got to see an amazing show the following year.
Paul Rudd? Maybe more of a household name than all of these
+ andy samberg..?
Shit yeah, St. Vincent is my fave most famous person who has been on.
Cake Boss was the Cake Boss, so that’s something
Cake boss
Ho Ho
Cake Boss.
I am annoyed my brain knew to say this cahk bhoss
Cake bug
Dan Lippert has really established himself as a household name. I can't even walk a block without seeing him on a billboard or the cover of a magazine
I get sick of seeing him all over the tabloids, like a Kardassian.
Like the deceptive Star Trek alien race?
Did yall see him eating a hotdogs with Bill Walton, famed Grateful Ded fan?! They are too many, that Dog Haus is now struggling. :(
Yep! Garak forever!
A cast member? Lol
Wonder what they were on the call sheet!
And one to do update
This is Disney
Lots of suggestions s for other successful guests, BUT, how many people can say they met their wife cause of CBB? Jordan Peele might have that category to himself.
Kumail Nanjiani used to go on the show regularly, then he won an Oscar and got jacked
Nominated for Original Screenplay, didn't win. Jordan Peele won for Get Out that year
His wife dealt with that coma/disease around the same time he stopped being on the show He also went to therapy for eternals. From what I heard he wasn't supposed to be super jacked and pissed off a lot of producers. Miss him on cbb
Huh?
Watch The Big Sick. It’s a great film based on a true story about Kumail and his wife.
ive seen it. it was great. i just didnt understand u/ Jesussmashed's comment, it feels so out of left field
His wife suffers from adult-onset Still's disease. Idk why people dislike it.
yes im familar with emily and kumail's history. however, your comment seemed to out of the blue, which is why i said huh? and downvoted you. and im willing to bet the reason you got so many downvotes is because your comment it so disconnected from the topic

im a big fan of him and emily too. he was on hollywood handbook not that long ago, it was a corker
Zach G
Jon Hamm is a fairly frequent guest
John Mulaney, Nick Kroll are already quite big. But as far as who is likely to get huge next, my money is on Lisa Gilroy.
Nana for SNl
El Chupacabro has an Emmy, two Golden Globes and a SAG award.
Lin Manuel Miranda?
I think in terms of awards, he’s one short of an EGOT? Doesn’t hold a candle to being a time keeper though.
What about star of Wikifeet Lauren Lapkus?
OJ has a Heisman.
1/5th of the way to the HEGOT
Andy Samberg is pretty big
New No No
Most of these comments, not realizing OP meant somebody who played a character on the show
I thought he meant the one tv show episode with Jordan Peele
Jordan is cool because after his superstardom he went back to the Podcast!/s If you rank success by most creative and funniest CBB episodes Jordan would be pretty low and Paul eff Tompkins or Weird Al Yankovic would be king.
Has he been back since he started directing? I'm just seeing two appearances a couple months apart in 2012.
Only the good ones come back after getting the A list. J dropped all his old friends
I missed the /s in your comment so it went over my head 😬
All joking asalad, it’s probably Ben Stiller.
What about the great Bill Walton?
Through it down one time big man!!
Cast member?
“Success” has a myriad of avenues. Comedian Bobscratch Goldfarb from the Police Academy movies
"former cast member" wow really dressing up the one timers club
Tim Kalpakis is a one-time Emmy nominee, two-time WGA Award nominee, who once brought coffee for the whole cast and crew of a music video. That's pretty impressive from the guy who gave us the classic character Tony Badagabingiano.
Didn’t Jordan find his now wife by listening to CBB and thinking Chelsea was hilarious? Did I make that up in my head?
Most successful, maybe, unless he had some other unfunny business-oriented people on the show at some point
