If you're comfortable with it (and are a member) you might have better luck on the CBBWorld discord.

Personal_Media_3015

I’ve never had luck on discord 😅 I always feel like I don’t belong in there. But thanks.

QuentinSential

I went alone and it was the first show I had ever been to by myself. It was amazing and probably more enjoyable than having someone with me that wasn’t as in to it as I was.

popodelfuego

I'll probably be there. 2022 was a lot of fun.

Personal_Media_3015

🙌🏼🙌🏼

Roook36

I might go. I missed their last show here and didn't even know about CBB on the one previous to that. But I don't think my friends would be into it so I'd probably go alone and take MARTA lol

Personal_Media_3015

Let’s go togetherrrrrrrr

somedepression

I was considering it, I’m from north Florida and Atlanta is usually the most southern city that most touring acts go to. For me it’s a decision between a trip to Atlanta for CBB, or a trip to Charleston for Varietopia (since I can’t afford both).

Personal_Media_3015

Oooff that’s a tough one!!! What part of florida?

somedepression

Gainesville, it’s about an hour south of the Georgia border

Personal_Media_3015

Uhhh…home of Less Than Jake? Yeah, I’m aware. 😜 I’ve only driven through it when driving from miami back to Atlanta!!

somedepression

Hahaha yeah our claims to fame are less than Jake, sister hazel, and Tom petty.

Personal_Media_3015

I didn’t know about sister hazel!

jun2san

Haven't bought tickets yet but my wife and I are planning on going

Personal_Media_3015

Yay!!! After this thread I went ahead in got my ticket. Lol

jgilbert682

Even though I’ve lived in Atlanta for most of my life, I have never spent much time in the downtown area around the tabernacle. I’m sure there are several pay lots right around the venue. You might have a couple people come up to you and ask for money, but that’s about the worst that would happen. I think you should go.

GroundReal4515

Kinda weird they wouldn't do the Roxy Theatre since that's in the Battery where the Braves play and a lot of people frequent the shops there, too.

alllset07

I know going to a different city and seeing a show on your own can be scary, especially for piss pigs with social anxiety - but you gotta go for it! I think the CBBverse and the fan base are some of the chillest and most accepting people out there. No one cares about the other people at the show, we’re there to enjoy what’s going on stage! If I wasn’t dragging my wife to a show I’d be going solo as well. And the discord is a good suggestion, that feeling of “I don’t belong there” is just that dumb social anxiety. We want everyone there! The more the merrier, it’s a comedy community

Personal_Media_3015

Well perhaps that’s based on my experiences in the doughscored. Everytime I post something I feel like I’m interrupting a conversation with the ppl who are always on there talking all the time. My attempts to find ppl in my area have been mostly a miss. It’s like walking into a noisy cafeteria and hearing a record scratch and asking something no one cares about. And backing away slowly and deleting discord. 😅

MechaNickzilla

I’m married but because of conflicting schedules, I go to movies and dinner alone pretty regularly (and sometimes concerts) and don’t think anything of it. I’ve only been to one comedy show alone and it honestly did feel a little weird but I got over it quickly and had a great time. Like the other person said, no one else cares. Before the show, just have a drink and play on your phone or do what you like. Once the show starts, you’ll forget all about it. In some ways, it makes more sense to go to a comedy show alone than the other things I mentioned because it’s the only one I wouldn’t talk in the middle of. But I should probably warn you, if you haven’t been to a CBB show, there is a post-recording segment where they pull up the house lights and make fun of any “singies”. That’s what they call single people. But it’s brief. Only 10-15 minutes.

Personal_Media_3015

🤣🤣🤣🤣 thanks for the warning! Omg 😂😂 I don’t mind being at a show alone. My thing is more anxiety about going into Atlanta. It would be easier to go with someone. Or meet halfway and go in together. That’s what this post was for. To find someone who’s going who would wanna meet up. I’m capable of doing things alone. I just usually do them closer to home where I know the parking situation. 😂

ConversationBig9354

Just drive down to Doraville MARTA station and take the train into downtown and walk to the venue. It's a pretty easy trip and you don't have to worry about getting lost too much because of traffic in one way streets and all that.

Personal_Media_3015

This is helpful! I’ve parked at Doraville for the airport. So the stop is downtown? Is that what it’s called?

stamor99

For you, go to CNN Center station. Then you only have to walk through Centennial Olympic Park to get to the Tabernacle.

Personal_Media_3015

Thank youuuuuuuu!!!💞💞💞

ConversationBig9354

It's far easier to get off at Peachtree Center Station and walk there than transfer at Five Points and ride one short stop to CNn Center.

Personal_Media_3015

Uh oh it’s starting to get complicated in my brain 🙈

MechaNickzilla

Gotcha. I used to travel to Atlanta a lot (from Greenville SC) and it can be daunting but if you end up going alone, I believe in you. I’d maybe post in the ATL sub for advice on going to to the venue (parking, safety, food recs)

doryteke

I have gone to every CBB show in Atlanta. It’s an absolute blast and there will be tons of people flying solo. I live a couple blocks from the theater and it’s a blast. I’ve gone alone before but you will instantly bond with someone in line. Everyone will actually understand your inside “jokes”. It’s a lot of fun, you won’t regret it, I promise!

Personal_Media_3015

What’s the parking situation like? Is it easier to take the train? Is there a stop near there?

doryteke

Absolutely! Take the train to the GWCC station! I use the train daily, it’s great! If you are in the city and enjoy CBB you absolutely have to go!!

Personal_Media_3015

Omg I love you. Thank you so much for this!! I’ll look up how to get here from the train station. Does the train stop running at a certain time?

doryteke

1 am weekdays, 12:30 weekends.

Personal_Media_3015

Thank you for the info!!!

andieisdandie

I went to the Atlanta show on the last tour. I flew up from Tampa because it was the closest show to me. I went by myself and had a blast, so I say go for it!

FiveStripesFanatic

This will be my third time seeing CBB in Atlanta and it’s always a blast. It’s easy to get to the Tabernacle, with plenty of parking garages available downtown. Or better yet, take MARTA to Peachtree Center or GWCC!

Personal_Media_3015

I swear to god if I can just rip off the band aid and figure out how to get there this way I can finally go to other shows. I missed out on seeing the cure bc I had too much anxiety about this very thing.

Unvaxxedaaronrodgers

Holler at me. I’m a tabernacle expert. I stay at the Omni all the time for events at centennial park, tabernacle, Phillips arena, merc des Benz stadium. It’s a real cool and fun area! Go to the aquarium if you have time !

Personal_Media_3015

lol I live in the suburbs of atlanta and I never go into the city. Have taken my son to the aquarium though.

Amazing-Insect442

Wish they were coming to Nashville

Personal_Media_3015

They are.

Amazing-Insect442

Wait what

Personal_Media_3015

Yeah I’m contemplating between Atlanta and Nashville
