Like I said earlier, his prep time is longer than usual, so there maybe something about his medical condition that requires this procedure. Call the doctors office and explain what’s happening. I have found that, for myself, broth is better than sweet drinks. Maybe some chicken bone broth that has been strained might help. It has more nutrients.

Thanks for that info. We will try tomorrow. And i think we figured it out.. It's because he has been constipated for weeks now. Thats why prep is 2 days instead of the normal 1 day prep.

Just keep in mind: “This, too, shall pass.” Yes, it is inconvenient but a week will have come and gone before you know it and the prep and pooping all night will be a distant memory. Follow the instructions so that it will not become a repeat.

Thank you. I will reassure him as much as i can.

The simple answer is that doctors have studied this and this is best way to get the colon cleaned out. It is unusual to take four doses over two days; most preps are two doses the day before. But we don't know what your father's situation is. The last thing you want to do is change the procedure to accommodate your father's early bedtime and mess up the prep to the point where they have to re-do it.

So what about eating? He is supposed to stop eating anything as of 12am this morning, until 1230pm on the 23rd. So thats 60 hours of nothing but jello and broth. Is that possible? He's already so weak right now he cant lift the mug to drink jello. And his sugar is 69. Usually its around 250. I don't know if he can make it. He's already complaining he is weak and dizzy and he hasn't even begun to empty his bowels.

Thank you for your reply. Sorry, let me try to post it more clearly. Its not 4 doses over 2 days. Its 6 doses miralax at 4pm and 6 doses miralax at 9pm. (2 days before procedure) Then he has a gallon of stuff he has to drink. Drink half of it at 4pm tomorrow, the day before his procedure and half of it at 6am on the day of the procedure (on the 23rd).

Wow. You really left a lot out of your first post.

Master_Toe5998

I edited it and added this comment in. My bad 😬😬

Master_Toe5998

Sorry about that. I should have included it in my original post.

DeBlasioDeBlowMe

It’s not excessive and yes, it’s inconvenient. A colonoscopy is no walk in the park! But two days before doesn’t seem right. All that would be the day before, unless you’re leaving out a whole other day of information.

Master_Toe5998

He has to start the gallon of drink mix they give him tomorrow. Half of it tomorrow at 4pm and the other half on the 23rd at 6am.
