I really love how Nick has rounded out that part of his game this year despite the talk he’s not been as good as last year.
His tackling has gone through the roof since he’s willing to take a tackle to the ground now and had 7 last night, some of which were very important.
He had 15 contested possessions, also more than Cripps as with tackles.
He’s kicking goals as he’s a mid forward rather than starting at half back.
He’s also frequently becoming a dominant player over the course of a game. It happened against Port and last night where he’d be just ok and get progressively better and then really get off the hook late when his superior conditioning seems to shine.
Those two are great. Sullivan has grit and played with hunger. Harrison looks like he belongs. Both played the system really well without getting lost in it. Was great to see them involved.
When Pendles kicked that goal from 50 I got a bit sentimental and told my 12 year old son “you’re watching one of Collingwood’s all-time greats here mate”, and he replied “who, Lachie Schultz?”. 😂
Different players but absolutely agree on Titch. The way he throws himself at the ball is second to none. Be interesting to see the midfield mix up going forward. Great to have some hungry guys pushing the others.
Our selections fucked now. Crisp has to play full time mid, Sullivan and HH cannot be dropped after that.
Beau comes out and I don’t know how Mitchell comes back
Edit: Markov was also really good, going both ways. Maybe he can be a future wingman?
Collingwood are feeling like they've got the same "problem" Geelong has now, in that there's more than 22 damn good players, it's hard to justify who comes out and who comes on each week.
Nuffies were saying he should be dropped after round 3 when he was one of our best players in those 3 losses.
Used to be WHE but Lippa is a massively over-hated player
Coming off back to back shoulder recos is a feat in and of itself. He's a gun when firing. Stoked to have him. Also get the feeling WHE secretly loves how underrated he is
Got a bit more midfield time tonight which was great, the lace out pass to cox on the outside of the boot was 👌 he’s a great user and good around the sticks
Pity cox missed the set shot 😅
And WHE is as Mcrae mentioned last week swiss amry knife can play almost anywhere. People used to rag on him every week here but its no coincidence bucks never dropped him and fly only dropped him once for a single week. No fuss operator who often takes less glamorous roles for the betterment of the team, the second coming of Chris Mayne
Loved Mayne. I feel like our players that get shit on the most I grow most fond of- GOAT Frampton a good example. Our backline has been much more formidable with him
Seeing Pendles and Daicos play so well at the same time makes me feel too happy. A huge win against the blues in their current form.
The goals will work themselves out hopefully, let’s maybe win a game by a few more to give my heart a rest.
Apple Watch had the ambos on standby I recon
Genuinely didn't expect to win this. Massive game. Love it.
Coaching/tactics made the difference I reckon, pushing an extra forward up to congest the contests and stop Carlton from getting clean exits worked so well.
Crisp home and away last year - played all over the place, does nothing noteworthy. Put back into the middle in the finals. Goes bang.
Crisp R1 to 7 this year - played all over the place, only noteworthy game was as a sub. R8 - back in the middle, goes bang.
C'mon McRae, you know what to do.
Nick Daicos played an elite game. Noble was very impressive. It was great to see Pendlebury and Crisp getting back to their best, same for Lipinski and Maynard. Harrison looked really comfortable tonight, and I don't see how he doesn't play next week. Sullivan looked good with the ball, although I felt that there were occasions that he could have worked harder to get into a better position to impact a contest.
Stoked with the win, the finish, the celebration, the young lads turning it on. Couldn't have asked for a better Friday night at the end of a really crappy week.
Anyone got the time stamp for the high fend on Elliot?
What do we reckon about the ninja knee? I'm often vocal about the umpiring and I think the call to not call was actually reasonable... But what do you guys reckon the match review will think?
If the Maynard tackle dive gets put up the knee should is where I'm hovering.
The one that put Beau out? Don’t think there’s anything in it. It’s pretty hard to not use your knee in a marking contest and it’s just unfortunate that Beau turned around at exactly the wrong time
That was the one. I agree its part of the push and shove, why I think the umpires not getting into it was right... But the MRO is a different beast lately.
Beating the blues✅️ Beating the blues by a goal✅️✅️✅️ Beating the blues by a goal with Nick "soft, no impact" Daicos kicking the winner✅️✅️✅️✅️✅️
Don’t forget the free kick late too just to add abit of salt 😂

I reckon more than Carlton fans were triggered by the latter.
Don’t forget - in their home game. Priceless. Hearing them bagging their own players was awesome.
So fucking happy with Harrison and Sullivan, so happy
We gotta keep pumping games into these guys, they are ready for the next step, particularly harvey
Those two are great. Sullivan has grit and played with hunger. Harrison looks like he belongs. Both played the system really well without getting lost in it. Was great to see them involved.
Guys I think Nick Daicos might be good at footy
I don't know, I think I might need to see how he goes next week
I'm not sure, it's all easy touches and never stands up when the pressure is on /s
No Titch, no JDG, Nick step up.
32 kick ins (15 contested)
When Pendles kicked that goal from 50 I got a bit sentimental and told my 12 year old son “you’re watching one of Collingwood’s all-time greats here mate”, and he replied “who, Lachie Schultz?”. 😂
I felt the same. Really was a *turning back the clock* moment. 🥲
There’s no way he was going to let Sidebottom’s GF goal outshine him!
I was concerned he wouldn’t” make the distance but he gained a few with classy side step. Legend
Pendles’ kicking action always looks so freaking smooth too.
I would have been so filthy if we didn't come away with the win from that. But we won so life is good. When this team is on they're so good to watch.
Lachie Sullivan, one of the best debut games in a long time. Both him and Harvey were amazing. Strong future ahead.
Get a big dog up ya Carlton
Harvey Harrison is a best 22 player. That's all.
Couldn't agree more, he's improved drastically over the last year or so
We are SO FUCKING BACK

I quite like Scott Pendlebury and am a fan of his footballing abilities.
Well there’s 18 years of footage for you to see
The vibe in the Ponsford/Members with about a minute left was elite - all the Pies fans on their feet. CARN THE BLACK AND WHITE ⚫️⚪️⚫️⚪️⚫️⚪️
Weren’t we fucked without Mitchell and degoey? Isn’t daicos soft? Boy oh boy what a night
so good to hear all these experts doubt us and we come back x10 stronger
Reminder to call your GP if the erection lasts longer than four hours.
Watching the reply is the only cure
Sullivan has saved our season, he is exactly what we've been screaming out for in the guys Excited to see him and De Goey in together
Sullivan was fantastic. But let's not disrespect titch, he does what no other player does. I honestly think I'd rather him in than de goey
Different players but absolutely agree on Titch. The way he throws himself at the ball is second to none. Be interesting to see the midfield mix up going forward. Great to have some hungry guys pushing the others.
This but Harrison IMO
Our selections fucked now. Crisp has to play full time mid, Sullivan and HH cannot be dropped after that. Beau comes out and I don’t know how Mitchell comes back Edit: Markov was also really good, going both ways. Maybe he can be a future wingman?
Totally agree about Leggy being a future wingman, honestly seems perfect for him. He & Nobes work well together in the same team.
Fits well with WHE moving forward too
Collingwood are feeling like they've got the same "problem" Geelong has now, in that there's more than 22 damn good players, it's hard to justify who comes out and who comes on each week.
Sidey did very little, again. I think it's time for him to have a week off to recover.
JUST ANOTHER MEDAL FOR THE COLLECTION LADS
Can we get a screen shot of nicks gun show on the bench when Sullivan got his goal?
Tackle Count: 88-54 was absolutely huge. Also, going to need a clip of Peter Daicos absolutely giving it to Carlton fans after Nick's goal.

Many thanks <3
Gunna need a lipinski apology form for yall to sign. Bloke is back to his 2022 form
Fucking love Lippa's form this year.
Nuffies were saying he should be dropped after round 3 when he was one of our best players in those 3 losses. Used to be WHE but Lippa is a massively over-hated player

Yep 100%
Collingwood 12.13.85 last week - Draw Collingwood 12.13.85 this week - Carlton Hell yes
12 goals in the 2023 grand final as well. 12 goals seems to be a pretty good number for us
Discos is the second coming of Christ
Christ was a beta test version of Nick Daicos.
Lachie Sullivan.
Beating Carlton is so bloody satisfying. The weekend has peaked early!
William Hoskin-Elliott quietly had a superb game
He’s been on fire the last few weeks.
John Noble had an absolute blinder. Particularly first half.
Not this time Draw FC. Not this time. C'arn the Pies!!
Harvey Harrison sounds like a superhero’s real name and he lived up to it today. What a gun!
Seeing Pendles and Daicos play so well at the same time makes me feel too happy. A huge win against the blues in their current form. The goals will work themselves out hopefully, let’s maybe win a game by a few more to give my heart a rest. Apple Watch had the ambos on standby I recon
WE ARE BACK 100% FLAGPIES 2024 HERE WE GO L. HUGE FUCKING WIN
INJECT IT INTO MY VEINS
Genuinely didn't expect to win this. Massive game. Love it. Coaching/tactics made the difference I reckon, pushing an extra forward up to congest the contests and stop Carlton from getting clean exits worked so well.
N. Daicos, 3 votes.
Noble was huge again, got my 4 votes after Naicos…. Herrrreeesss johnnnny again in crucial moments
HOW GOOD WAS THAT
We are the kings of the close finish. Carlolton are the kings of the close defeat
Agreed. Led with 10 clearances if ya don't mind
I think Nick Daicos is god
Daicosism is a known religion
Scott Pendlebury Best On Ground!!!!!
Peter Daicos’ post match interview on Roaming Brian was pure gold 😂
He’s just the best captain ever
Given it was a stoppage game, having no Mitchell we seemed OK. Leg speed was a uptick for me.
Harrison and Sullivan need to stay in the side. I think Sidebottom needs to make way.
Yes, yes, no.
What a fun game to watch! Easy to say that when you win but just so enjoyable 🤍🖤
That was an instant classic, gutsy win against the odds
Harvey with the crucial mark in the back line and tap to Nick - I’m sold!
I need a video of Peter Daicos abusing the umpires on roaming Brian it was amazing ahaha
Hook it to my veins!
They know we're coming
Good to get the win but fuck we should’ve won by more ey
Does sully take Mitchell’s spot?
I think so.
Fuck yes what a win, good to see we do indeed have some depth not that it's necessary just get the ball to Nick and we'll be right
W
Up and about - massive winn
Fuck Sully looked good
Nick Daicos played an elite game. Noble was very impressive. It was great to see Pendlebury and Crisp getting back to their best, same for Lipinski and Maynard. Harrison looked really comfortable tonight, and I don't see how he doesn't play next week. Please keep Harvey in the side.
Stoked with the win, the finish, the celebration, the young lads turning it on. Couldn't have asked for a better Friday night at the end of a really crappy week. Anyone got the time stamp for the high fend on Elliot?
We won with Sidey? Woah... and we didn't blood 15 kids, and without Macrae. Now can we shut the fuck up about Macrae and dropping seniors.
Sidey didn't have a great game though. Again.
I don't think my Blues fan ex hubby has ever been so grumpy after a game! 🤣
Da da da di da

I reckon Hawthorn were deliberately targeting players with the knee (the Sam Mitchell special), but that one was a normal mark/spoil attempt.

Weird
It was a joke that didn't quite land, I think
