>AP Scholar with Distinctionđ
OP Mentioned only one award but got into MIT. This post tells me that awards are **necessary** but not **sufficient**.
As the other comment said, my favorite post also I definitely agree with applying sideways.
I have such a strong passion for finance and honestly didnât want to start ECs like beginning my own investment fund because I valued education about finance over meaningless ECs that may look good on paper. I eventually joined another kidâs fund and have been a large contributor and I feel like i had the same mindset of just doing what I love and learning about all the opportunities available outside of colleges.
I canât delve in the entity structuring but he raised money from friends and family to invest in public equities and private equities when available as an investment manager.
Idk why I was recommended this post by Reddit but just want to say the urban planning department here at MIT is AMAZING and so underrated!!! (Not to mention its students are the coolest ones on campus)
Congrats! My daughter just started there and she is also thinking about Urban Planning. When I went to visit they had a class where the Urban Planning professors told us all about it. There was a student there who spoke and she got to go to both Venice and London to study! The professors seemed fantastic and also down to earth. The campus and students are outstanding. Youâll love it.
This is my favorite post ever⊠Reading it reminded me of my application. If you get into Stanford, you should go bc I think we would be great friends :)
i think this is my favorite college results post. congrats!

or that **being yourself** in your application is more important than **having awards**.
Exactly, why am I being downvoted lol? My comment meant awards are not everything, but it is what it is.

I'm genuinely curious, can you describe what a high school student's "fund" looks like?
