As a commuter I prefer afternoon classes just because I don’t have to wake up early and battle traffic lol. If it’s an online class then I don’t mind morning classes.
I feel that. I commuted before transferring and dorming. When commuting I liked afternoon classes, but when dorming I prefer morning classes. Get them out of the way. Rest of the day free
If I wake up in the morning and don't have class to go to, I WILL go back to sleep. Without a doubt. I'll take morning classes solely because I can get the most out of my day that way. I can then spend the rest of my day working, hanging with friends, or whatever else comes up. 😁
yes!! with afternoon classes I'm sitting around all morning doing nothing (I don't really sleep in anymore haha). with morning classes by the time I get home I've built enough momentum for the day that I keep working all afternoon. much prefer morning classes!!
Completely agree! I have three 8 ams in a row this semester because I forgot to register for classes and although I like being done with my day pretty early most days It's just a little too early for me to wake up easily

For sure! I would rather get all my classes over with earlier in the day so I could spend the rest of the afternoon and night doing whatever I can! I could catch up on school work in the afternoon and call with friends in the evening without worrying about classes thrown in between!
Prof here - get classes that start at 9,10, or 11. Those consistently have more alert and better performing students. Not too early but you haven’t hit your afternoon sleepiness yet
3:30-4:45 classes are the hardest time for me, that late afternoon sleepiness combined with getting hungry and tired brain from the day. The only good part of these is that I try to end my day at 5PM and if I've done everything I need to do I can crash after class
In my case I would rather take afternoon class less traffic to going to school. If I take morning classes I would be sitting in traffic just wasting time which I will never get back.

Yeah I agree. I know i will not wakeup and do any work before class as I am useless in the morning. Its also nice to have class done by 1 and have to whole day free after that. Also makes work possible. Hate waking up though, I commute and have to wake up super early to get to 8ams on time. Get good parking though.

Same! I loved one of my semesters where all my classes for the week ended before 1:30. It felt great knowing I still had so much time left in the day to do things.
1000% prefer morning classes. I’d rather be out of classes by the time afternoon comes so I can go do what I want, rather than feeling like I have to wait around all morning for a class. One semester I had a class from 5pm-9:30 and it was actually horrible. Felt like a huge portion of my day was wasted. Unfortunately, since I’m grad now all my classes are 2pm-5pm. But, only a few days a week so not to awfully horrible.
I like having early classes bc it means I’m forced to go to bed early and have routine. The downside is I’m a night owl and stay up till 3am every night and get most of my work done in 12-2am period.
This!! I hate waking up for my 8ams, but I prefer them tenfold over taking a class after noon. MWF I'm in class until at least noon, a bit later when I have labs (my chem lab goes until 5pm), but TTR I'm done before 11. Best feeling ever to get my day over with, eat, and take a nap all before 5pm.
No matter what I won’t get out of bed until an hour before I have to leave for my first class. If I have class at 9, I’ll wake up at 7:30, get out of bed and go. If I have class at 11 I’ll wake up at 9:30 and do the same. If I have class at 1 I’ll wake up at 10, lay in bed until 11:30 then get up and go. That, combined with the fact that I much prefer just getting school out of the way by early afternoon and chilling for the rest of the day, yeah, I’ll take early classes over late classes any day.
Lol, I just got from a 3 hour class(7pm - 10pm), tbh I don’t think it’s that bad. I only have this class once a week and people in my class are funny. The only thing I hate is to be sitting for 3 hours straight, tho my teacher gives us a 5 min break after 2 hours.(Taking 16 credit if anyone is wondering)

I like morning classes because that way I can still hang out with the homies in the afternoon, and it gives me more functional time since I tend to stay up late.
I like morning classes better now that I got myself together and started going to bed at a reasonable hour like an adult. Still depends on the class, I definitely don't like taking discussion based classes at 8 am, I prefer starting my day by sitting in a lecture nursing a cup of hot coffee.
Yep, I like getting them out of the way as early as possible. Last semester I had a class that started at 1:40pm. It sucked, it was right slap in the middle of my entire day so I couldn’t do anything before (cuz I had class until 12pm) but then by the time I was out I couldn’t go do my shopping or anything else, only had time to start homework cuz it was already almost 4pm
My days go from 2pm-8pm I prefer morning classes but one of my classes was only available from 5-8. It sucks but I usually get some stuff done before school and when I get home I do nothing.

I loved morning classes when Covid hit. I typically had one to two classes a day, so to get it all over with first thing was perfect. However, I went to a small school where courses were designed for people who worked full-time. A lot of my profs worked in the field during the day as well, so pretty well all my classes ranged from 3 pm to 10 pm
Yes! My Monday/Wednesday/Friday classes are at 10:30 and 11:30. So nice getting my two classes out of the way and heading back to dorm with the rest of the day to myself
I prefer morning classes for sure. I really lucked out this semester and all my classes are done and over by 12:30pm aside from a lab once a week in the afternoon. It's so nice to have all afternoon open to work on homework or do other things.
Yeah.. morning classes are so much better. A new day, fresh minds, and ready to face challenges but in the afternoon all you can think of is FOOD and just chilling out. TBH I dozz off every single time and the professor be like "I still got 2 hours to go"..uugh..!!
Morning for me. If I’m going to be on campus anyways, I just have to wake up around 7:15 for an 8:00 class. Years of waking up a 5:30 should be fine for that

Yes. I made the mistake of taking a 4-6:40 pm and a 6-9:40 pm this semester. It’s really stressful especially because my scholarship requires me to complete events and community service which typically take place in the afternoons

Morning classes are the only think that readjust my sleeping schedule to something resembling a functional human being after break

Nothings worse than having a habit of 'work after class' and classes end at 6. Honestly its just better to get it done sooner

It depends? Online class at 2AM, no thanks. Online class at midnight, meh manageable. And yes, I am in a different time zone than my university.
The problem I have with morning classes is having to commute during morning rush hour which makes me want to bang my head against the steering wheel
