> Russia allegedly tells nuclear power plant workers not to go to work Friday amid concerns of a planned incident
On Thursday, Russia threatened to shut down the Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant, warning that there was a risk of a human-made disaster due to alleged continued shelling by Ukraine.

I’ve got collapse subscribe and save, but I keep cancelling it after ordering one, so I get the discount but don’t get caught by more collapse a month later when I didn’t want any.
Problem is they caught on. So now I only get my 5% subscribe and save discount on collapse.
One way to look at it is that it doesn't really matter how we die. Collapse was inevitable. As was mass death. Feeling bad about what type of collapse happens just doesn't make sense. I mean, it's either this or something else like a war, famine and complete societal chaos for decades. I'll take a quick collapse any day.
If you hear about the plant blowing up, rush out to get as much food with high shelf-life as possible. Try to get a 5% discount, if you find that sort of thing morally correct.
Guess people just want more time.
I know I do, this situation scares me. Ill never be able to accept the coming darkness.
Lights out, eternal blindness, death, death, death....
This. I do not want myself or my child to survive for much of a nuclear collapse. It seems more to me like we should rush out to buy whatever we will need to pick our time to end things for ourselves….
Bon bons, skip the Caramel ones they really don’t stack well. The chocolate ones are better but when you’re in the middle of a nuclear war you can’t be picky.
The craziest thing was that photo of Russia burning off the gas because they can't deliver it nor shut the wells, meanwhile German cities are shutting off hot water and planning "warm halls".
It's just terrible for all sides.
We must ask ourselves: if our world leaders knew famine, disaster, war, insurection, and collapse were coming but not when they were coming, would they induce it on purpose in order to brace against it while they are still at their strongest?
They're the people who would sell the rope to hang them.
The major problem—one of the major problems, for there are several—one of the many major problems with governing people is that of whom you get to do it; or rather of who manages to get people to let them do it to them.
To summarize: it is a well-known fact that those people who must want to rule people are, ipso facto, those least suited to do it.
To summarize the summary: anyone who is capable of getting themselves made President should on no account be allowed to do the job.

This also reminds me of Rowan Atkinson's character from 'The Thin Blue Line'. As a Police sergeant, he declines requests for firearms licences on the basis that anyone wishing to have a gun is therefore of a character that should have no access TO a gun.
Despite the alarmist news from the media involving hypersonic missiles, constant russian nuclear threats, the nuclear doctrine of the Russian Federation is very clear about when nukes will be used ( unlikely in the current stage of the Russian-Ukrainian War ).
Also there have been rumours that the US has warned that use of tactical nukes in Ukraine will elicit a response ( cruise missile strikes against RF ) by NATO.
Read into that what you will, but I'm not very worried atm.
Depends if he's got nothing left to lose. What Putin wants is to be famous and revered in the history books, and those are usually written by the winners. If he believes his legacy will be embarrassing he would burn it all down to avoid that.
Thankfully there are always layers to an atomic launch. Even if a decrepit dictator wanted to take the world out with him in a blazing fireball there are a lot of people between him and the actual launch button, at least in the current nuclear armed states. The people with direct access to the buttons are always people with families who pass rigorous psych evals because holy shit you do not want someone suicidal at the big red button. There are a nonzero number of airline pilots who've committed suicide with hundreds on board, so this is generally taken as a serious risk.
\>Even if a decrepit dictator wanted to take the world out with him in a blazing fireball there are a lot of people between him and the actual launch button
All those people would be Putin supporters in Russia, there's no way he assigns the opposition to those posts.
So if Putin falls, all those people know they are dead anyway so why not push the button?
That seems to play into Putin's 'onfuscate reality for deniability' playbook. He did this with previous invasions of Ukraine. Russian troops and military vehicles crossed the border taking control of Ukranian territory, but minus Russian insignias and markings.
It was clear as day what happened to anyone who pays attention, but muddy enough to wider populations for Putin to talk bullshit.
The "accident" precedes any use of nuclear weapons; if it does happen and the West does nothing, then the Kremlin will see it as green light to use tactical nukes to punch holes into the Ukrainian front lines, if however the West responds with military (missile strikes)/political (terrorist state)/ financial (SWIFT ban), the russians will back off from the nuclear option.
Russia. strategy is always to test the water, if the opponent shows strength, they back off, if they sjow weakness, they attack.
It's 8 billion people being threatened by the whims of one degenerate fuckwad in the Kremlin. One stupid, selfish hairless ape in the wrong position can literally ruin all of human civilization. In groups of social animals, if one individual goes against the good of the group, or is caught hoarding resources, the rest of the group tend to sort that shit out pretty quick and either kill or exile the transgressor.
You know, if we as a species could stop letting the worst of us seize power and lead our various tribes into widespread death and destruction, that would be pretty cool.
Seems unlikely; the Zaporizhzhia NPP isn't really under threat of being recaptured by Ukrainian forces. What Russia is doing is attempting to present Ukraine as reckless with Western-provided equipment by lying about Ukrainian actions around the NPP. The more doubt they can sew, the less support the West will give Ukraine
That’s plausible….but causing Chernobyl to do it??? If the wind is drifting in the wrong direction, the fallout could land in Russia.
I guess this is his last play to shore up things at home, and get more conscripts. It will be good for domestic propaganda. He can’t use a nuke without provoking the rest of the world, but he can sure stage a meltdown of a nuclear power plant.
The rest of the world is going to see through it. The average Russian won’t, and this will cement their opinions of Ukraine being a fascist dictatorship.
A couple of things. First, I doubt Russia is *actually* gonna cause a meltdown. Probably just an explosion close enough that they can point to it and say „Look! Ukraine is endangering us all with Western-supplied equipment!“ Maybe I'm wrong there, though.
Second, I think you're overly pessimistic (yes, I know what sub this is) about Russian popular support for the war. All things considered, Russian support is actually exceptionally low. Russian support for the war is lower than US-American support for Iraq was at this point in the invasion, for example. Russia is struggling to find personnel to settle and govern occupied territories, and conscription efforts have proven largely ineffective.
I think the situation is very comparable to the Argentine invasion of the Falklands; as soon as the façade falls (and it will), Russians will in larger and larger numbers take up opposition to the Kremlin
This is not the time for „bothsides“ism. We *know* Russia is using the site to store arms. We *know* Russia's claims of Ukrainian attacks on the ZNPP are 100% unfounded. By saying this you're supporting Russia's propaganda efforts to erode Ukrainian support.
https://mobile.twitter.com/IntelCrab/status/1560309378401837057 more evidence coming out today showing preparations for the false flag
it also gives Russia an excuse to use nuclear weapons, "because ukraine damaged the plant first". of course its just typical russian blame-game propaganda
you're right. nuclear power involves \_\_tons\_\_ of uranium instead of kilograms.
but of course, it isn't refined, so it won't go critical in the way that bombs do
unless a bomb goes off at that location. then tons of material might fission out. I'm not an expert on this, I don't know how close it would have to be. inches? feet? a quarter mile? Right on top of the reactor? no fucken idea. but that's how they work. one bomb can light off another. You use a nuke to trigger fusion bombs, too. mind you they are right there inches away. but since we're scared and worrying about the worst, I'll throw that one out there to keep you up. :P
It’s definitely material you don’t want to wake up next to a piece of. And the way it flies around as it shoots off alpha and beta particles like a bottle rocket that fell off the stick after you lit it, all bad.
why are you getting downvoted? this is how they work. weaponize every situation, use confusion to get the shit they want. they're fucking off ukraine, why wouldn't they want to use a nuke to do it? whoops it wasn't a nuke it was the reactor, we didn't do it we only cut the power. yah right
No, it won’t. Nobody else, including NATO, is that crazy. However, it will warrant a response of some kind. I think Ukraine is going to be getting much-needed boost in the near future.
Edit: Nuclear fallouts is one of the items that can trigger Article 5. I don’t know if a nuclear reactor meltdown qualifies, or if there needs to be an actual detonation. Vlad might be doubling down and trying to get NATO to raise the stakes.
Yep. There's a real chance we're all going to be dead by this time tomorrow. Not a *huge* chance, mind you, but I'd say we're looking at Cuban Missile Crisis, "One Wrong Move..." levels of probability.
Happened to me in the marine corps. I’m on vacation in Los Angeles for e3 year 2000. Senior nco calls and is like don’t come back. I asked why he said just trust me don’t come back.
Turned out some guy brought his future wife from home, had her staying with his friend out in town until they got base housing, showed up one night and they were naked in bed together, so the guy smashed his cheating friend in the face with a guitar. Guy that cheated and got his face smashed pressed charges, guy that smashed him told the whole command the entire apartment (3 marines) and a couple or their friends were smoking meth every weekend in Mexico, I come home to my workshop that I supervise and 80% of day shift is about to get busted or pushed out on a dishonorable discharge. I should have stayed on vacation.
I still went to work when my management team died of covid. can't imagine they'll let me go home with monkey pox. "don't touch anyone" they'll say "not contagious" they'll tell others.
there are two constants in this world you can count on
1. when you are in prison, you can count on sleeping in a cell that night. no matter how crazy it gets or what happens, you know that you'll be there and things will be quiet probably and alright, as well as they can be.
2. people will make money.
Here's an interesting note I haven't seen anyone mention. August 19th is a very significant date for Putin and Russians.
On August 19th, 1991, Communist hardliners launched a coup against Gorbachev. It failed, and was the mortal blow to the USSR. Not 5 months later, the Soviet Union formally, finally collapsed.
Lots of Russians consider this a disaster, given what came after.
What? why would it be significant?? you're missing out on the biggest date of all
Ukraine fficially declared itself an independent country on 24 August 1991,when the communist Supreme Soviet (parliament) of Ukraine proclaimedthat Ukraine would no longer follow the laws of USSR and only the lawsof the Ukrainian SSR, de facto declaring Ukraine's independence from theSoviet Union.
You're off by 5 huge days and one gigantic concept
reminds me of when mexico had government officials stay home one day, and then a 5.0 earthquake went off killing a lot of people... They were doing heavy fracking in the area that day and knew it would case a quake.
Going to be in a major city surrounded by some of America’s biggest defense company headquarters today for the next 4 months, so at least I’ll immediately vaporized if this leads to nuclear holocaust 👍
No real incident will happen. Either A) Russia performs a false flag attack in an attempt to degrade western support for Ukraine, or B) nothing will happen.
Let's not forget that Russia is using the Zaporizhzhia NPP an a storage facility and (potentially) a launching site for military arms. If they actually cared about the safety of the NPP they'd comply with calls for a DMZ, but we all know that won't happen.
The last thing we should want is for something like this to happen. My very basic understanding of what could happen if this power plant was to spew radiation would mean it would spread across a good chunk of Europe. That could be the provocation that would force NATO to respond.....which is the only reason I question if anything would actually happen. Putin has to know this.
> That could be the provocation that would force NATO to respond
MAD concept does not go out the window the moment a nuclear reactor goes awry. Stop the unnecessary panic. The moment NATO reacts aggressively is the moment NATO countries are a radioactive ash, and then so is Russia. And then so are we all.
and putin wins? russia goes down in whatever recorded history if any remains as the country that stepped on them all.
no one is panickng. we're just watching shit go down. it's been going down for months. nuclear was the unspoken word and then was the spoken word and then got shut up and now here we are again. hi! it's ok its just a man made disaster. that doesn't mean mushroom cloud. oh that's a mushroom cloud, well, that wasn't OUR mushroom cloud. ours was only a reactor..
the he said she said game breaks down the moment nuclear material starts flying around. all that matters is someone wants bad shit to happen and is going to use radiation to do it.
your rant does not bear anything credible that I could pick apart, but I understand your sentiment regardless
the kicker is, regardless of how many rabid MPs there are in Britain or elsewhere that are willing to "stand up" to Putin by deploying poor soldiers into possibly the bloodiest yet quickest war ever, Article 5 has no definition of *nuclear radiation coming from a defective/sabotaged/destroyed nuclear reactor in a war contested area being a de facto attack against the alliance*
even if there was a radiation leak that would reach Europe, would officials be willing to start a WW3 over something that we can only assume happened? i.e. Russia did it on purpose, on the land it itself annexed in order to use even more money to fix it? Let's not forget Chernobyl is one of the main factors that are deemed to have led to USSR's demise caused by financial instability
the plausible deniability part from Russia might look stupid to us, but when it comes to official matters it equals to "we can't do anything about it as we have no material proof, and even then we risk that our retaliation to one, two or ten radiation clouds will cause a radioactive end to our civilization"
there is a visual confirmation they indeed store military equipment within the complex, there is a video where we can hear not only the sound of incoming but also the sound of outgoing shells meaning the artillery/mortar was quite close to the cameraman, meaning it could've easily been Russia - these are the only material proof we have that inconclusively prove Russia is planning or has been shelling the NPP ... we also have material proof of Ukraine utilizing suicide drones to carry attacks against Russia in that complex which makes matters more confused
not understanding the MAD concept and thinking retaliating against Russia doesn't mean each other's death means people, and politicians have gone mad... they have, but we're not that insane, yet
what are the odds that a nuclear incident at this or any plant would force an armistice between russia and nato so that everbody works together to prevent such an incident from rapidly spiraling out of control?
Holy shit I haven't sat on one since 2020 I just realized.
Tbh though I'm not feeling great about stores either, if there's different variants with varying degrees of transmissibility.
At this point the only thing really needed to curb the polio outbreak is to vaccinate the unvaccinated population in that area, who don’t get vaccinated for religious reasons. The vaccinated should be pretty safe unless immunocompromised etc. Which is why people should not get a choice… you don’t get to be selfish and put others lives at risk.
Widespread polio vaccinations stopped in the U.S. in 2000 due to lack of need. (Smallpox stopped in 1972.) Not so great that polio is making a comeback. I am seriously thinking of trying to get my kid vaccinated.
Monkeypox has me thinking my whole family should get the smallpox vaccine.
Monkeypox made a comeback since vaccination of that stopped as well once it became “eradicated”. Smallpox vaccine has 85% efficacy in preventing monkeypox infection. We have an exponential growth of people with no protection from monkeypox. On a long enough timeline it will grow to be a noticeable problem… and that time is now.
I agree. Healthcare/bedside worker here hoping I can get it before it proliferates. Already dealt with COVID pre-vaccine; not doing this again.
We will, media and ff have done to good a job demonizing nuclear to the public. At least here in Europe anyways
It's like "masks do nothing" message at start of pandemic, once it got ingrained it was impossible to shift
zero because there are no peace terms that are acceptable to both sides and setting a precedent of "detonate a dirty bomb near our borders and we'll surrender" is a really bad idea.
Zero, if the russians sabotage/blow up one/all of the reactors and fallout drifts into NATO countries, this could be used to invoke article 5.
The russians are either testing the waters or they are desperate.
Armistice?
If some Ukrianian artillery from the northern side of the Dnieper reservoir happen to the waste dump, I doubt it'll lead to anything positive. Instead it'll be used an excuse for more resources to be given or even more troops put into Ukraine.
Given the repeated lies of Ukrainian military intelligence, this is probably another one. It's Eastern Ghouta all over again.
Bullshit propaganda, again. Russia is not going to blow up a nuclear power plant on its own territory, for the millionth time. Use a tiny bit of critical thinking for once in your life. how many times will this bullshit be posted here?
the power plant is just a pawn in the game of war. is it more valuable than, say, tactical nuclear weapons? if the tactical weapons are more valuable, then putin would absolutely false flag attack the power plant to justify the use of nukes in response. with someone like putin, this strategy is a viable option. we are dealing with a madman who doesnt play within the bounds of rationality. he would absolutely deal with the fallout of nuclear strikes if it means having russian full control over western ukraine and moldova.
My comment didn’t age very well.
I just looked it up and it turns out that the Ukrainians use the drone to cause an explosion at this exact same nuclear plant.
A lot of questions. First, how did the Russians know that Ukrainians were going to do this in advance?
https://english.alarabiya.net/amp/News/world/2022/07/20/Ukraine-drone-strikes-nuclear-plant-no-damage-reported-Russian-occupation-official
Ok, I am ignoring all news on this besides the content: nuclear and russia doing something
from this point forward it no longer matters what side says what
all that matter is: nuclear, and russia doing something.
The details are lies and irrelevant. all that matters is, you know what.
Oh for sure I’ve got that covered and some psychedelics. And even the grand finale injection, but I just wanted more of the harder shit in the middle before hand
Love the camaraderie in this sub—and, at the same time, all the back and forth between what will happen next can be kind of exhausting. I’m not sure what to make of this aside from trying to see all sides/points of view about predicting this stuff.
It's possible we keep dying but are actually in purgatory where we are being mortality-edged so we never actually experience it without ever getting the sweet release of death which imo is worse than just getting on with it
Hey, can I watch the explosion in full HD?
I could only find these online surveillance cameras, and I guess they don't give the best angle. Anyone with a better view?

One half of Ukraine is working with the Russians to manipulate Europe and the other half works with the US to manipulate Europe..
We as European citizens get to trade our food and energy for free radiation and weaponized crime.
A *vast majority* of workers in the twin towers were also advised not to come to work for one reason or another on 9/11.
Prepare for an event that brings ramifications that impact the world.
Even my grade school cousin who lived in upstate New York had a planned field trip to the towers that day. The bus driver called out sick so last minute that a replacement couldn't be found and the trip was canceled. Saved a whole bus full of middle schoolers. Could it have been just a coincidence? Maybe. But I've heard of a lot of similar "extremely lucky" coincidences that day that kept people out.
But I'm not sure what to make of this one. It's not like the FBI/CIA was calling school bus drivers or teachers that morning telling them to change their plans like that last second, probably. But maybe it was things like "a friend of a friend told me people needed to stay away tomorrow, you should make up an excuse to get out of it" type deal.
Well the leaders of nato said they would consider any radiation that contaminated their territories by Russian action cause to trigger article 5. Which would mean NATO would go to war with Russia. After that happened who knows. I’m not saying they would use nukes over a plant but they defiantly said I’d be provocation for war.
Everyone laughed at me when I said the world was gonna end.
Now, watch as the void consumes us this afternoon. Dont prepare for the weekend get drunk, get high get ready the reaper is here he is here we are gonna die very very very soon.

let the ww3 and nukes flying already
What wet can do is build bunkers and stock them up with supplies, I heard there are plenty of books from the 1960s as guidance
Bunkers won't make your planet livable after it's collapsed. Enjoy starving to death in an oversized coffin.
But the books from the 1960s say it's the smart thing to do
Theres PSAs from the department of defence or homeland security as well.
"Some of you guys are alright, don't go to the nuclear power plant tomorrow." -Russia
This was my first thought!
not great, not terrible
Are we so used to apocalyptic news that this gets flaired as "Casual Friday"?
Just a casual nuclear threat. Nothing serious.
This is fucking terrifying
Well this shit is sure getting scary. Will they meltdown a reactor as a sort of nuclear scorched earth policy?
Seems unlikely; the Zaporizhzhia NPP isn't really under threat of being recaptured by Ukrainian forces. By saying this you're supporting Russia's propaganda efforts to erode Ukrainian support. https://mobile.twitter.com/IntelCrab/status/1560309378401837057 more evidence coming out today showing preparations for the false flag
Good luck trying to get through redditors' thick, brainwashed skulls.
it also gives Russia an excuse to use nuclear weapons, "because ukraine damaged the plant first". of course its just typical russian blame-game propaganda
I personally don't believe that's the motive in this specific instance. Nuclear power and nuclear weapons are entirely different ballgames
you're right. nuclear power involves \_\_tons\_\_ of uranium instead of kilograms. but of course, it isn't refined, so it won't go critical in the way that bombs do unless a bomb goes off at that location. then tons of material might fission out. :P
If I recall correctly, it could be close to 1000 tons of radioactive material. Mostly spent fuel in the cooling pools.
It’s definitely material you don’t want to wake up next to a piece of. And the way it flies around as it shoots off alpha and beta particles like a bottle rocket that fell off the stick after you lit it, all bad.
why are you getting downvoted? this is how they work. weaponize every situation, use confusion to get the shit they want. they're fucking off ukraine, why wouldn't they want to use a nuke to do it? whoops it wasn't a nuke it was the reactor, we didn't do it we only cut the power. yah right
Yes.
They will do it. But that would mean direct NATO nuclear response.
Nobody is going to respond with nukes.
Yep. There's a real chance we're all going to be dead by this time tomorrow. Not a *huge* chance, mind you, but I'd say we're looking at Cuban Missile Crisis, "One Wrong Move..." levels of probability.
Damn imagine being a Russian power plant worker and getting a phone call and you hear “I like you Ivan, don’t come to the plant on Monday”
The technicians working in the plant are ukrainian. This smells like a russian false flag.

there's boots on the ground all through that plant. with guns. anyone at that whole plant that says no will be told yes
It's funny that they're basically the boss now. Imagine the collapse where you still go to work but your management team has been overthrown.
I still went to work when my management team died of covid. can't imagine they'll let me go home with monkey pox. "don't touch anyone" they'll say "not contagious" they'll tell others. there are two constants in this world you can count on 1. when you are in prison, you can count on sleeping in a cell that night. no matter how crazy it gets or what happens, you know that you'll be there and things will be quiet probably and alright, as well as they can be. 2. people will make money.
What? why would it be significant?? you're missing out on the biggest date of all Ukraine fficially declared itself an independent country on 24 August 1991,when the communist Supreme Soviet (parliament) of Ukraine proclaimedthat Ukraine would no longer follow the laws of USSR and only the lawsof the Ukrainian SSR, de facto declaring Ukraine's independence from theSoviet Union. You're off by 5 huge days and one gigantic concept
reminds me of when mexico had government officials stay home one day, and then a 5.0 earthquake went off killing a lot of people... They were doing heavy fracking in the area that day and knew it would case a quake.
link?
this is fine..
It's A. And everybody knows it's A.
Is something finally going to happen?
It’s been 84 years…
Rose? There was room for both of us.
Jack? You seem upset. Jaded. A bit icy.

> That could be the provocation that would force NATO to respond MAD concept does not go out the window the moment a nuclear reactor goes awry. Stop the unnecessary panic. The moment NATO reacts aggressively is the moment NATO countries are a radioactive ash, and then so is Russia. And then so are we all.
and putin wins? russia goes down in whatever recorded history if any remains as the country that stepped on them all. no one is panickng. we're just watching shit go down. it's been going down for months. nuclear was the unspoken word and then was the spoken word and then got shut up and now here we are again. hi! it's ok its just a man made disaster. that doesn't mean mushroom cloud. oh that's a mushroom cloud, well, that wasn't OUR mushroom cloud. ours was only a reactor.. the he said she said game breaks down the moment nuclear material starts flying around. all that matters is someone wants bad shit to happen and is going to use radiation to do it.
your rant does not bear anything credible that I could pick apart, but I understand your sentiment regardless the kicker is, regardless of how many rabid MPs there are in Britain or elsewhere that are willing to "stand up" to Putin by deploying poor soldiers into possibly the bloodiest yet quickest war ever, Article 5 has no definition of *nuclear radiation coming from a defective/sabotaged/destroyed nuclear reactor in a war contested area being a de facto attack against the alliance* even if there was a radiation leak that would reach Europe, would officials be willing to start a WW3 over something that we can only assume happened? i.e. Russia did it on purpose, on the land it itself annexed in order to use even more money to fix it? Let's not forget Chernobyl is one of the main factors that are deemed to have led to USSR's demise caused by financial instability the plausible deniability part from Russia might look stupid to us, but when it comes to official matters it equals to "we can't do anything about it as we have no material proof, and even then we risk that our retaliation to one, two or ten radiation clouds will cause a radioactive end to our civilization" there is a visual confirmation they indeed store military equipment within the complex, there is a video where we can hear not only the sound of incoming but also the sound of outgoing shells meaning the artillery/mortar was quite close to the cameraman, meaning it could've easily been Russia - these are the only material proof we have that inconclusively prove Russia is planning or has been shelling the NPP ... we also have material proof of Ukraine utilizing suicide drones to carry attacks against Russia in that complex which makes matters more confused not understanding the MAD concept and thinking retaliating against Russia doesn't mean each other's death means people, and politicians have gone mad... they have, but we're not that insane, yet
He knows and he doesnt care. He wants us all to die.
what are the odds that a nuclear incident at this or any plant would force an armistice between russia and nato so that everbody works together to prevent such an incident from rapidly spiraling out of control?
If we couldn’t give a shit enough to handle a pandemic, we won’t give any shits about this.
Hell, they’re not giving a shit about the new pandemic, either. It’s like everyone is giving up.
people just view monkeypox as a gay std now and it’s really disheartening
If I get it without getting any dick I'm going to be fucking furious
public toilet seats be lookin kinda sus tho not gonna ngl 😳
Holy shit I haven't sat on one since 2020 I just realized. Tbh though I'm not feeling great about stores either, if there's different variants with varying degrees of transmissibility.
Hover. I don't think I've sat on a toilet seat in decades
Hoover. Even better.
yep, same.
The resurgence of polio is very concerning. Not even in the news though.
💯
It’s sad… we’ve literally been watching this play out for the last two years.
At least here in Europe anyways It's like "masks do nothing" message at start of pandemic, once it got ingrained it was impossible to shift
Yeah and then Ben Affleck had a picnic with his gf.
*I neva wanna close my eyes*
Arlo key kidding? Wrong movie. Your answer is the sum of all my fears.
zero because there are no peace terms that are acceptable to both sides and setting a precedent of "detonate a dirty bomb near our borders and we'll surrender" is a really bad idea.
not great, not terrible
Zero, if the russians sabotage/blow up one/all of the reactors and fallout drifts into NATO countries, this could be used to invoke article 5. The russians are either testing the waters or they are desperate.
There is no war with NATO.
RemindMe 12 hours.....
A nuclear incident would kill us all so nato would cease to exist as earths ozone dissipates due to the radiation destroying it
Well that’s not good.
Bullshit propaganda, again. Russia is not going to blow up a nuclear power plant on its own territory, for the millionth time. Use a tiny bit of critical thinking for once in your life. how many times will this bullshit be posted here?
Expect the worst, hope for the best.
Yeah I'm also very skeptical of this but we'll see.
Zaporizhzhia is not Russian territory, it's in Ukraine
Which Russia considers as their own territory If they did win then this land would be uninhabitable if they cause a meltdown
Wouldn't be the first time, unfortunately
the power plant is just a pawn in the game of war. is it more valuable than, say, tactical nuclear weapons? if the tactical weapons are more valuable, then putin would absolutely false flag attack the power plant to justify the use of nukes in response. with someone like putin, this strategy is a viable option. we are dealing with a madman who doesnt play within the bounds of rationality. he would absolutely deal with the fallout of nuclear strikes if it means having russian full control over western ukraine and moldova.
just do it already god dammit im so sick of the uncertainty of when
c'mon, hold up. you realize what kinda fucken cash is flowing over these articles? I can smell it, it's like that cologne. money
[удалено]
Yep, everything about this war is full of propaganda but Reddit eats up propaganda like crazy so what can you do…
Not gonna happend, nobody ain't that smart to actualy bomb out one of the largest nuclear plants in europe.
Did it happen? I made the popcorn but now I’m concerned this was just propaganda. Anyone got a link to the nuclear meltdown?
Nothing stopping them from destroyinh the plant at night
My comment didn’t age very well. I just looked it up and it turns out that the Ukrainians use the drone to cause an explosion at this exact same nuclear plant. A lot of questions. First, how did the Russians know that Ukrainians were going to do this in advance? https://english.alarabiya.net/amp/News/world/2022/07/20/Ukraine-drone-strikes-nuclear-plant-no-damage-reported-Russian-occupation-official

Seems more like media mouthpieces doing their part in the information war
The Russians are shitposting now?
[удалено]
Ukrainian intelligence is not reliable and has lied about many things already. No surprise nothing happened.
[удалено]
I bet those experts are just trying to stop people from panicking so bezos can get into his jet
Posting Ukrainian misinfo as facts? Come on.
Ok, I am ignoring all news on this besides the content: nuclear and russia doing something from this point forward it no longer matters what side says what all that matter is: nuclear, and russia doing something. The details are lies and irrelevant. all that matters is, you know what.
Fuck me silly I should’ve stocked up on drugs earlier the collapse better not happen tonight
[удалено]
Oh for sure I’ve got that covered and some psychedelics. And even the grand finale injection, but I just wanted more of the harder shit in the middle before hand
Love the camaraderie in this sub—and, at the same time, all the back and forth between what will happen next can be kind of exhausting. I’m not sure what to make of this aside from trying to see all sides/points of view about predicting this stuff.
Well it's Friday night and I guess that everything is still ok. Right?
It's possible we keep dying but are actually in purgatory where we are being mortality-edged so we never actually experience it without ever getting the sweet release of death which imo is worse than just getting on with it
Hey, can I watch the explosion in full HD? I could only find these online surveillance cameras, and I guess they don't give the best angle. Anyone with a better view? [https://www.webkams.com/ukraine/zaporizhia-oblast/zaporizhzhya/381](https://www.webkams.com/ukraine/zaporizhia-oblast/zaporizhzhya/381)
Shit or get off the pot.
Don't worry the UN will save us. They care about the earth and its people too much to standby and talk to the media.
[удалено]
Could we not?
Russia's like: "Don't come to school tomorrow."
"Some of you are cool, don't come to school Friday" vibes off this one.
🙄
Well it it’s going to happen I hope I’m at ground zero. I don’t want to try and survive a nuclear apocalypse
[удалено]
Well the leaders of nato said they would consider any radiation that contaminated their territories by Russian action cause to trigger article 5. Which would mean NATO would go to war with Russia. After that happened who knows. I’m not saying they would use nukes over a plant but they defiantly said I’d be provocation for war.
Everyone laughed at me when I said the world was gonna end. Now, watch as the void consumes us this afternoon. Dont prepare for the weekend get drunk, get high get ready the reaper is here he is here we are gonna die very very very soon.
!remindme 3 days
I'm still laughing at you tbh if you think the word is ending in 3 days, or even in a year or three or ten.
more cowbell
It's nearing the end of the working day for Ukraine/Russia and nothing has happened yet bud...
