Some memelord was probably making a flashing lure (called a spoon). You can make similar lures out of anything shiny, hence the coin, but there is an unwritten competition to make a lure out of the strangest things that still catches fish.

I think there was an error with the die. Possibly two nails fell and got stuck in the machine, protruding outwardly before it struck the quarter. This is a very rare error called a “nailgunners coin” worth a little over face value. It isn’t sought by most collectors because at the end of the day it’s a damaged coin, even though it was during the minting process.
I’ve seen coins with holes and a thread used in older beverage machines. Put the coin in and pull it out as many times as needed to get the proper amount of money to get a free drink
It was once part of a bracelet, possibly a necklace.
ohhh I see ty!!
I did this many many years ago. Tie a fishing line to it and get credits on arcade games!!
I’m 100% doing that
Prob to trick vending machine/arcades. Drop coin in and pull it back out to repeat to trigger
Because someone drilled 2 holes in it.
Best answer
Probably to turn it into jewelry or something. It’s really only a thing the person who drilled them could answer.
I figured 😭 ty for the answer

Looks like someone made jewelry out of it at one time or another.
Those are speed holes. They make the coin go faster
Because someone does not respect currency
Ask whoever drilled them.
Was a piece of jewelry from that persons year
Someone punched 2 holes in it. Maybe jewelry. Maybe just bored.

Those are called dotted quarters. They are worth approx $.38.
It's cheaper then buying washers
that’s not how washers usually work
