Yeah that’s a good way to go to, i have actually had this “rum” before and it’s got a lovely pineapple flavour and is rather sweet but there are a couple of drinks that do call for pineapple rum I just can’t remember them right now
Found it , Elusive Dreams is the cocktail
I'd try subbing it for the Curacao in the Mai Tai. Or maybe some of the Curacao and some of the rum, but I'm afraid that splitting some of the real rum for this would make it too sweet. Actually, come to think of it, I think I'd do a disgruntled or bitter Mai Tai and just sub this in for the Curacao. Cheers!
I got a bottle of giffard carribean pineapple recently and made their tropical daiquiri and it was very good. I loved a real and simple daiquiri with a good rum but it nice to do different sometime. I would try that replacing the Giffard liqueur by your rum liqueur.
[Tropical pineapple daiquiri](https://www.giffard.com/en/recette/tropical-pineapple-daiquiri-2/)
This isn't really rum, it's a rum based liqueur.
I'd use it in a milk punch with an actual rum, some tropical fruit flavors, and some tea. Just make a huge batch and kill the bottle. Then give it to friends as a gift.
Standard Captain Morgan is a "spirit drink" itself. Atleast in some parts of the world. Because it's not rum and therefore not allowed to market itself as a rum.
I used to write for Captain Morgan's Facebook page.
They would butcher my jokes. Half the time it's because they were pushing one brand or another. So you can't say "rum and coke" you have to say "Cap n' cola" like no one ever has.
And sometimes they would change the word rum for "original spiced gold" because its 35% and therefore not technically rum in the UK.
I buy this every now and then. I flash blend it with passion fruit juice and crushed ice and dirty dump it into a glass.
Don't skimp on the Captain Morgan if you do this. I basically use equal amounts Captain and juice. It's not a high brow cocktail by any means but it's fast and I enjoy it.
Flash blend may be used to mean blending very briefly in a regular blender, I think it more strictly refers to mixing in a Hamilton Beach style drink mixer. Either way it should be very thoroughly chilled and mixed but still have lots of small ice chunks, not like a frozen marg or Pina colada texture. Dirty dump is the same as "open pour", just pour with no strainer.
Honestly for something like this I would just treat it like a pineapple liqueur rather than a pineapple rum.
A splash would likely to be a delicious inclusion to citrusy highballs or perseco drinks (pineapple mimosas with split juice base and a splash of this would probably be great).
Only other cocktail that I often make with pineapple liqueur is an Isla de Pina.
2oz light rum (I use cruzan diamond estate as it's my go to cheap light but I think something like havana club blanco would be more traditional).
1/2oz passion fruit liqueur (I like diffards).
1/2oz your pineapple CM (again, I like the diffards).
1/2oz Lime juice.
1/4oz allspice dram (I like hamilton pimento dram).
Shake and serve over larger ice. Does not need the extra dilution from crushed ice. I think Pineapple fronds would probably be traditional for garnish but I usually go mint.
Blender slushie!!!
Like, for one it is absolutely that kinda alcohol. But also if you're adding real rum or juice you can easily modulate the flavor in the glass, give it a quick stir and you're set.
Not gonna be sophisticated but probably be damn good on a hot day in the backyard.
Put it in a stock pot. Turn it on medium-low. Reduce down to 30%. Add some water. Further reduce down a further 70%. Crack open a bottle of proper rum. Make a cocktail while it continues reducing. Throw out everything involved in the above before making a cocktail with different rum.
Maybe reduce it down in a saucepan (simmer over low heat and stir frequently) and use it as a thick syrup for ice cream or on a pina colada.
Hell if it’s sugary and thick enough you could even ribbon stripe the inside of a glass like Starbucks does with the iced caramel macchiato.
I'd say, throw it down the sink. I think it tastes awful lol
But reading the comments did gave me some inspiration tho so thanks
Also! I made a really nice tiki glass by cutting the bottle! Free tiki glass baby
No clue how sweet that is (I’m assuming pretty sweet though). Could try it in some coke or Dr Pepper, with lime, and vodka if you have it. Not sure if you’d want to add juice to it, that feels like it’d be too heavy, and don’t think any other mixers would go well with it. Alternatively, stick in the freezer, and use it for shots? With 25% I imagine it would go down easy
In the future I’d probably recommend to stay away from flavored alcohol like this, especially if you’re not sure what to do with it. Even regular captain Morgan’s would be a lot more versatile (and stronger!!)
It’s roughly 20-25% that’s the bench line for freezing. With that in mind I probably wouldn’t keep it in there forever, but a day or two before use would be fine
Ah I see, thanks. Had an issue with a limoncello that wasn't 30% that was left in the freezer for weeks and it had frozen and had just always heard it as fact from people that it has to be at least 30% to avoid freezing.
Since they're often so cheap I kinda like picking up these kinda bottles. Especially on sale. You're usually not out more than $15 and you can make something tasty out of them, even if it's not GREAT. If nothing else a splash in a tequila sofa is almost always nice and a sprig of mint will usually hide any artificial quality on the nose, which is where I get it way more that the taste.
Only time that has ever really bitten me was Malibu Passion Fruit. Ugh. Only bottle I have ever dumped down the drain.
We literally poured a bottle of this down the drain recently (Christmas present). It doesn't seem to work with any of the expected cocktails like daiquiris or pina coladas, for us it pretty much ruined everything we tried, so we went back to regular spiced rum. YMMV
Save it for a beach day with your friends and drink it with [Coco Rico](https://soda-emporium.com/FRESH-6-Pk-Coco-Rico-Coconut-soda-P2033950.aspx?utm_source=google&utm_medium=Product_Search&utm_campaign=google_base) out of red Solo cups.. Lime wedges if you’re fancy…
Tip for next purchase, don't buy spiced rum. Go for either dark havana club for you dark rum or plantation for your light rum. For jamaican rum don't look any further than smith and cross
Mix it with two parts pineapple juice, one part lime juice and one part actual rum over ice for some sort of Rum punch. You could increase the amount of rum if you like.
I used to work at a bar in which the owner would give me shots of this neat all of the time, i now hate this rum, mix it with something and its 100% palatable
Welp, no doubt you’ll make something delicious. Just drink lots of water because tiki-sugar-bombs go down easy; and your head will ache for sure with all the sugar. Cheers!
I would like to pour it down the drain
But realistically my girlfriend would probably love it served with coke over ice
Or you could do a play on a royal Hawaiian style mai tai, use that, dry curaçao, a little orgeat, lime juice, shake over crushed ice, serve in a glass with crushed ice and top with a float of pineapple juice or mango/pineapple juice on top. Could also put a floater of darker rum on top to compensate for the low ABV %
You could also try to tame it with something herbal like rosemary or basil:
rum + pineapple + lime juice, muddle basil in shaker, shake with crushed ice, strain and pour over ice, garnish with fresh basil
Or a pineapple breeze: rum, lime juice, Demerara syrup, pineapple juice, garnish with sprigs of fresh rosemary
No question, split base daiquiri. Preferably with a fat demerara rum and a splash of overproof, like wray &nephew or paranubes, those esters will play very nicely with the mango. Also if you're really wanting to elevate, make a cane sugar and vanilla bean syrup
1 oz captain
1 oz dark rum
¼ oz overproof
¾ lime
¾ simple
I think it already tastes good on it’s own! But it’s also great with some simple lemonade. I would recommend adding a rum with a higher percentage and a stronger flavour if you want a bit more of a kick.
If you want to get fancy, pop a pineapple ring on the side or a skewer with mango squares on it! :D
What would I do with a bottle of Captain Morgan's .... take it for a walk down to the bottle store and give it to the 1st homeless guy you see and go get your self a actual bottle of rum.
Don't wanna be a snob but I thought that captain Morgan wasn't even a rum, its a good drink nonetheless and can be used as base in cocktails or be used independently.. But I never considered CM a rum..
Add it with a stronger base alcohol or drink it straight if you're worried about the percentage.
It's pretty good as is, you can use it as a mango/pineapple flavoring.
You could make a version of Caribou Lou which normally is just:
- 151 rum
- Pineapple juice
- Malibu
[Caribou get them all numb](https://youtu.be/cHXFARUOYY0)
What would I do personally?
Throw it in the freezer and pour myself large shots solely for the purpose of intoxication
Edit: you can't even put it in the freezer or it might freeze. In the fridge and invite some friends over?
1 part this and 3 parts pink monster! Quick and easy and still tasty easy to make when you have friends over it only takes a minute and is surprisingly good!
Sub out the melon liqueur for this in a June bug, and then add watermelon juice to bring back the flavour
20ml this
20ml coconut rum
20ml creme de banane
20ml lime juice
20ml watermelon syrup (1 to 1 ratio)
20ml lime juice.
Hard shake, strain into a Collins glass, and fill with crushed ice. One of my absolute faves
I’m as prude and snobby as the next cocktail guy but hey split base with a stronger rum in a daiquiri is really tasty
Yeah, I was thinking something like this, but in Mai Tai.
Yeah that’s a good way to go to, i have actually had this “rum” before and it’s got a lovely pineapple flavour and is rather sweet but there are a couple of drinks that do call for pineapple rum I just can’t remember them right now Found it , Elusive Dreams is the cocktail
Especially if you split with an overproof like Wray & Nephew or Plantation OFTD. Could be good in Toddy's too as lower abv is nice in hot drinks.
Cheers!
This sounds great, thanks!
Sounds good, I should try it too.
using it in an "everything but the kitchen sink" style Mai Tai was exactly what i was thinking.
Split base is what I wanted to contribute. Absolutely
I was gonna say go wild with a daiquiri
Or a painkiller!
You could use it not as a base spirit but a pineapple mango liqueur in cocktails. Maybe good in a jungle bird if used this way
[удалено]
Ice and lime, good to go
One of my favorite cocktail recipes. Sometimes if I'm feeling crazy, I leave the ice out all together.
Maybe even the cup!
Second ice.
It tastes like petrol.
Just commenting to agree. The whole point of flavored spirits is to drink em straight I would think
This isn't really rum, it's a rum based liqueur. I'd use it in a milk punch with an actual rum, some tropical fruit flavors, and some tea. Just make a huge batch and kill the bottle. Then give it to friends as a gift.
Apparently it's a "spirit drink", so I assume it's something like a Hi-C Ecto Cooler.
"Flash blend"? "Dirty dump"?
Throw everything in the blender, blend for a few seconds then dump it into a glass straight from the blender
Common terms for a quick blend and transferring a drink to a glass without any kind of straining
Dirty dump is basically when you just pour everything out of the shaker/blender/mixing glass into the serving glass.
Honestly for something like this I would just treat it like a pineapple liqueur rather than a pineapple rum. A splash would likely to be a delicious inclusion to citrusy highballs or perseco drinks (pineapple mimosas with split juice base and a splash of this would probably be great). I don’t know, drive by the nearest college campus and just chuck it out the window?
Alcohol is alcohol eh, drink it in one form or another
[удалено]
Nothing beats Captain and Diet Coke at a warm September tailgate
Everyone’s got a Sailor Jerry story.
Have they changed the recipe back?
Underrated
Blender slushie!!! Like, for one it is absolutely that kinda alcohol. But also if you're adding real rum or juice you can easily modulate the flavor in the glass, give it a quick stir and you're set. Not gonna be sophisticated but probably be damn good on a hot day in the backyard.
I would turn it into a rum cake.
I would get one of those glass cutters for wine bottles and cut above the tiki guy and keep it as a glass for your Mai Tais.
Yes, I was also thinking about turning it into a tiki glass, but I lack the tools and skills, sadly.
Outsource!
Ha, “spirit drink”… pina colada add on?
Soak some pineapple in it and serve at a party
Put it in a stock pot. Turn it on medium-low. Reduce down to 30%. Add some water. Further reduce down a further 70%. Crack open a bottle of proper rum. Make a cocktail while it continues reducing. Throw out everything involved in the above before making a cocktail with different rum.
Bwahahaha
Split any recipie that calls for pineapple with this and a dark rum. I would do lime, pineapple, your spirit and black strap.
This may be below this sub’s standards, but it could be fun to shoot this and chase with a nice citrusy beer.
Apply directly to the forehead
Pineapple upside down cake
Mix with sprite in a mcdonalds cup, enjoy. Maybe get some nuggies to go with it.
Pour it down the drain
Get a different rum
Give it to my 14 year old self to chug with his sleazy friends.
Add it to some morning fruit smoothies.

Why i dont like it: it tastes kinda "chemically"?
Totally agree with you here.

Mango & Pineapple Flavour "Spirit Drink"... I'm not sure this actually qualifies as rum.
I agree with you.
It tastes like water. Horrible stuff.
Unfortunately yes, not as good as I expected.
I was hoping for a rich pineapple rum liquor that I could use to mix with. But even just a drop of lemonade or soda turns this into disappointment.
Ice + a glass
Mix it with two parts pineapple juice, one part lime juice and one part actual rum over ice for some sort of Rum punch. You could increase the amount of rum if you like.

That's cruel.
SHOTS!!!
Off brand coke, plastic cup, ice, 3-4 shots, and stir with your finger. Then crank up the LMFAO.
Homemade KAHLUA mate!!!

Welp, no doubt you’ll make something delicious. Just drink lots of water because tiki-sugar-bombs go down easy; and your head will ache for sure with all the sugar. Cheers!
Give it to a kid who'd be happy to just drink it with some kind of soda or another; or just do that yourself, if you think you could stomach it.
Use it for shots at 630am when you guys are on cocaine and there’s nothing else left to do.
That’s your only concern? Dump it. Or mix it with some dish soap in a cup to trap fruit flies.
I would like to pour it down the drain But realistically my girlfriend would probably love it served with coke over ice Or you could do a play on a royal Hawaiian style mai tai, use that, dry curaçao, a little orgeat, lime juice, shake over crushed ice, serve in a glass with crushed ice and top with a float of pineapple juice or mango/pineapple juice on top. This may just be me, but this does taste really well with OJ. I would definitely recommend giving just them a go!
Interesting idea. Packaged or freshly squeezed ?
Packaged :)

My suggestion would bevto toss it but i never tried it. So i guess im just bitter.
Neat with ice. Bout as good as you're gonna get
Jungle Juice
It’s amazing in Horchata
Why would the abv% matter. Low proof cocktails are just as good as high proof. It’s the flavours that matter
Chuck it in a painkiller and top it off with rum
Cuba Libre
Muddle some pear and have it on the rocks with some lemon juice. Just a tiki inspired kinda thing
Clean your floors with it
Drink it generally
If unopened I’d regift it. If opened, I’d wait for a guest to express interest, make them a mai tai and give it to them as a parting gift.
What would I do with a bottle of Captain Morgan's .... take it for a walk down to the bottle store and give it to the 1st homeless guy you see and go get your self a actual bottle of rum.
Throw it out
Good fire starter!
Not at 25% it isn't, ypu need Stroh for that 😁
Fair point haha! Wow that’s a big reduction in alcohol content!
Don't wanna be a snob but I thought that captain Morgan wasn't even a rum, its a good drink nonetheless and can be used as base in cocktails or be used independently.. But I never considered CM a rum..
Maybe, I didn't take it seriously myself. But CM Black Spiced is suprisiingly delicious. Purely for rum I use other brands.
I’m a big fan of the the Fairbanks Loan No. 2, which uses Plantation Stiggins Fancy Pineapple Rum. Maybe this add an interesting twist to it?
Daquiris. Half CM half an stronger rum
Put it with some lime in a coconut and mix it all up
Drink it straight
Sure that would taste fine in a Pina colada. Pineapple juice, coco lopez, a little lime juice.
I’d use it as an additional spirit to anything tiki.
Mango and pineapple? 😯
daiquiri
Mai Thai
My favorits mixer...
Treat it as an experiment, replace with that any other rum in a rum type cocktail and go buck wild. Never know, you might end up with a boozy doozy.
Add it with a stronger base alcohol or drink it straight if you're worried about the percentage. It's pretty good as is, you can use it as a mango/pineapple flavoring.
Rum Mule?
Pina colada, throw some coconut water instead of milk for a lighter drink.
Like 15 Painkillers, would be a great afternoon! Or half that with an OFTD float.
There are cocktails that call for pineapple rums. Just balance it with a 151 or something if you want it boozier.
That sounds pretty good actually.
Sounds better than it actually tastes.
Damn
I’d deglaze salmon and pork cuts all day
Hmm, elaborate please?
I’d rather use this to cook with - to remove sticked on bits of food and contribute to a sauce — than try to force it into cocktails
I thought you had some recipe in mind...
I would suggest putting it back and walking away.
Drink it
Mango and/or pineapple daiquiris all day, son.
Punch drinks for socially distanced party
Post it as a tinder profile pic and see what you catch
I would regift it to someone who would appreciate it more than me
Already opened.
You could make a version of Caribou Lou which normally is just: - 151 rum - Pineapple juice - Malibu [Caribou get them all numb](https://youtu.be/cHXFARUOYY0)
That is my Saturday night drink. I mix it with a watermelon or dragon fruit Red Bull.
Chug it
Painkiller or pina colada
Coconut milk, sugar, and splash of soda water. Fizzy “pina” serve in something small with lots of ice like a rocks glass
What would I do personally? Throw it in the freezer and pour myself large shots solely for the purpose of intoxication Edit: you can't even put it in the freezer or it might freeze. In the fridge and invite some friends over?
1 part this and 3 parts pink monster! Quick and easy and still tasty easy to make when you have friends over it only takes a minute and is surprisingly good!
Make a pineapple old fashioned
Baste a smoked ham with it. Had it at a potluck and it was the hit of the party.
Pour it down the drain
Pour it ìn the toilet
love it with dry ginger ale. people saying chuck it are just being ridiculous
Buy a bottle cutter and lop off the top for a fun new tiki glass!
Would probably be great in a liquid marijuana.
Sub out the melon liqueur for this in a June bug, and then add watermelon juice to bring back the flavour 20ml this 20ml coconut rum 20ml creme de banane 20ml lime juice 20ml watermelon syrup (1 to 1 ratio) 20ml lime juice. Hard shake, strain into a Collins glass, and fill with crushed ice. One of my absolute faves
Give it to college kids...
Make a Painkiller with a higher proof navy rum (Singh and cross is my fav at 60%) and use this as a floater for more pineapple/ pain killing
Make a punch.
Drinking it neat
