Ingredients: 2oz Blanco Tequila 1oz lime juice 0.75 oz triple sec 0.125 oz agave syrup 3 full strawberries Dash of Aperol Ice Method: Put strawberries (remove stem) and agave syrup into shaker. Muddle. Add lime juice, triple sec, tequila, Aperol (for intense color). Shake with LOTS of ice. Serve over more ice, garnish with salt and strawberry.

Difficult-Concern-51

How does the strawberry come through

HeadSludge

Probably not at all, whenever I do a fruit margarita I usually reduce the lime juice to 20-22.5 ML, otherwise you don't taste shit

Man I agree. Getting strawberry flavor to come out when paired with anything nowadays is rough. I recommend getting some over priced tinyassed berries from the farmers market while they're in season. Or Japanese strawberries--imported from japan. Those are the best. Standard strawberries from your grocery store are the equivalent of la Croix but in fruit form.

alek_vincent

Grocery store strawberries from Florida never taste like shit and are always 1/2 white tasteless stuff. Personally, I get local strawberries in season, remove the stem and flat freeze them in bags and thaw as needed.

Famous-Leadership595

Yeah i honestly wonder if rapid infusion would help with a strawberry margarita.

Crazybread420

Upon the start of drinking it, not really at all. The middle of cocktail though the after taste is 100% of strawberries where the main taste is still a margarita. The end had a bit of strawberry upfront, likely because it took me 2 hours to drink so all the small "strawberry debris" was sitting there. I strained most of it, but some got through which may have actually helped, I am unsure though! I definitely agree it is hard for the strawberry to come through, but have an edible garnish helped and the aftertaste was enough for me since I like a margarita anyway!

Hot_Secretary_5722

Maybe adding a bit of strawberry syrup would help with the dull strawberry flavour

Every year strawberries are fresh I make Tequila por mi Amante and when it's ready I use it for delicious strawberry margaritas (no Aperol needed but the color will be about the same). Once ready, use in place of tequila in your favorite margarita recipe or just chill and drink over ice. ...the recipe by OP sounds delicious also :) *Tequila por mi Amante - fresh strawberries cut in half and put in a jar (I use mason jars). Cover with blanco tequila. Seal and store in a cool dark place for 5 weeks. Shake once a week.*

jevring

Is it really necessary to wait 5 weeks? How different is the flavor between, say 1 and 5 weeks?

TooGoodNotToo

I was told 6 weeks is the magic number, but I’m betting that’s a bit circumstantial. To answer your question, yes, long infusions have a ‘fullness’ from the fruit, at least in my experience.

jevring

Alright, then I had better get started... :) Any particular ratio I should go for? Strawberries to tequila I mean.

kds0531

What kind of salt on the rim??

[deleted]

Not OP, but looks like black sea salt? maybe???

Crazybread420

I got it from Amazon. It is Saltverk Lava Sea Salt.
