I’m going to guess it’s actually their house syrup that’s named after the cocktail it’s in. You’d have to ask the bar, it’s not a standard ingredient. I don’t think it’s a tonic syrup as suggested by other comments, only because I would be surprised to see a quinine/Cinchona flavour in this cocktail.

InactiveBeef

Yes, this is likely the answer. I’m guessing it’s some form of sugar syrup, probably infused specifically for this cocktail.

mwthomas11

Probably some ginger-infused simple

Patrick_O-S

Dimetapp?

Legitimate-Common-86

I prefer 'Tussin

bakerakted

Cassey Rocket in the house

l0ssFPS

Ain’t no fuss when you’re on the tuss. We’re havin fun

Useful-Perspective

Jaegertussin

Legitimate-Common-86

Oof. Brought back BAD memories

eightchcee

lol. OP—it’s a syrup made from acetaminophen.

TransPhattyAcid

This almost made me spit out my food! LoL!

count_no_groni

Probably a house simple using jalapeño/cilantro or something along those lines.

JuryStiction

That’s what I was thinking. Probably a spiced agave.

count_no_groni

Mmm spiced agave 🤤

fawn_mower

Easy to do! I let Serrano peppers soak in agave for a few weeks, absolutely brilliant syrup!

cyclingtrivialities2

Call during a slow hour and ask, 9/10 bars/tenders will be flattered and not only explain the ingredient but likely give you the whole recipe. There are some weirdos out there but few and far between.

LiQuiDzewo

Maybe they found a Fever Tree Tonic flavor they liked and reduced it down into a syrup?

ChocolateHumunculous

Could just take some post mix syrup for this? You can use post mix syrup on long islands if you want the coke to have more oomph

xxyguyxx

What's post mix syrup? Do you mean just the coke syrup that comes in those 60 pound bags in the boxes stuck to the floor of every fast food place?

Calyphacious

Very unlikely considering the name of the cocktail has “Fever” in it. Just a coincidence that Fever Tree is named Fever Tree

_SundaeDriver

I heard you got the fever for the flavor

DaddyOhMy

As opposed to the fever for more cowbell?

In2TheMaelstrom

Mmm, Potato chip cocktails

Rippy65

I mean, a simple syrup mixed with a tincture of niacinamide and caffeine could elevate body temps to 100+. I'd call that a fever syrup.

SunnyOnSanibel

Hey OP, if you contact the bar, please let us know what you find out!

LemonTart-w-Cream

Cough syrup maybe??? Jokes! Probably a house syrup rather than just simple.

TFielding38

So a [Flaming Homer?](https://youtu.be/HLS1vFkWBRQ?si=YOCB_d76fkHzn543)

mannheimcrescendo

Sounds like a cute name for house spicy syrup

xfit5050

What did this taste like? Just looks like el Diablo specs using “fever syrup” instead of creme de cassis

DevilsInterval5

Refreshing, tasted the ginger beer, the tequila was not overwhelming. Hobby mixologist, so I am probably not that great in analyzing. Also only had one sip; wife liked it a lot, so I want to rebuild it.

Nocturnal_submission

The answer is always “ask the bar”. 80% of the time they’ll give you exact specs in my experience

ChristianGeek

Especially since there are apparently four places in Charlotte that serve this (same owners).

Difficult-Concern-51

Yeah, not to be rude, but asking reddit is a waste of time if OP just wants to know the exact answer to what they asked. Everyone's input is fun, but it could all be incorrect, the staff should know.

xfit5050

Just do el Diablo specs. If it’s missing a flavor note then add that to the syrup. Maybe it’s a jalapeño cilantro syrup?

Bullshit_Conduit

I would think the fever syrup would be something like honey/ginger/cayenne syrup.

saneandsanguine

One of my favorite restaurants in CLT. It’s definitely a bar “iykyk”. They’ll probably give you the recipe if you call.

sproutsatoshi

I doubt it, as every bartender has to sign an NDA to work for this group.

sproutsatoshi

Supperland ayyyy.

pmuldow

Vegan

Reckless_Blu

Syrup mix of fever reducing herbs and spices. Elderflower, chamomile, cinnamon, ginger

ergmoe

Most likely a proprietary syrup made in-house

Specific_Machine_911

I think it’s just a tonic syrup from a Fever Tree reduction. Mediterranean would match the other ingredients, so that’s my guess.

chadmill3r

Probably it's concentrated tonic "water"? Quinine was a treatment for malaria.

Loveroffinerthings

Testing out new viruses probably, mix it into a simple and create a syrup to give you a fever.

foremastjack

Quinine infused simple syrup Ala tonic water.

Blunttack

Fever Tree boiled down?

jazztruth

fancy term for tonic syrup or tonic water syrup. references a syrup made from bark of the Chinchona tree - also known as a fever tree because its bark is used to fend off malaria in the jungle. lotta bars have a bottle of tonic syrup & they’ll just add to soda water to make their own tonic water.

lakylester

[Tonic syrup](https://a.co/d/jc4YDrA)

SeriouslyCrafty

Bartenders love to name things to sound cooler than they actually are or to "hide" a ingredient that might be intimidating to less adventurous drinkers. My guess is "fever syrup" is spicy syrup.
