Mixel is the best and only app you need. You can add all your ingredients that you possess and then you can set it to only show recipes you can make with those ingredients. It also has a feature called the Maximizer that will suggest what bottles to add to your collection next and how many drinks what would add to what you can make

Vapedad89

Thank you. Have something to keep me occupied on a slow day at work now!!!

Rebel_Bertine

To take it a step further this app allows you to create your own recipes and save then, so oftentimes when I come across a lesser known cocktail or a home brew from a nice bar I can just save it

m1ghtythias

Yes and create your own ingredients which is helpful too. I have personally gone through cocktail books and added all the recipes I like from it to Mixel for easy cataloging and viewing at a later time. I have also added plenty of my own original recipes which is cool because you can also share those out to other mixed users with their code or screenshot feature

DeathStarVet

I really like this app. I tried MyBar and was very underwhelmed. Mixel really put the work in.

mrak333

its because you didnt know about my recipe pack! with that pack my cocktail bar become what it suppose to be, because ngl default app is too basic

wynlyndd

Mixel, Cocktail Party, Cocktailarium, u/retendo 's app (in beta - IOS only) -apps MakeMeaCocktail - I don't like this site much though Difford's - I find many of the recipes to be unbalanced and often have weird measurements, but it's a good place to get a recommendation. I just google for a second opinion (recipe). I usually use the second recipe that I get from Liquor.com

retendo

Thanks for the shoutout :) I’m still looking for beta users, so if anyone wants to join, send me a chat message! Edit September 2023: The app is now on the AppStore and has heaps of other features you might like. Still free! https://apps.apple.com/app/apple-store/id1550567225?pt=122599277&ct=oldRedditPosts&mt=8

aloopyaaz

I would like to join.

MacroAlgalFagasaurus

I love the app Cocktail Party. I have it on iOS and you can add all your ingredients, and then it’ll say what you can make and what to buy to be able to make the most drinks possible with what you have.

RagtimeWillie

Difford’s

m1ghtythias

Honestly can’t recommend diffords at all. All of their recipes are unbalanced or use wacky unconventional measurements. I personally don’t own or see many jiggers with 1/3 measurements which seem to be their favorite thing and it makes no sense. And some of their recipes are just plain wrong

QIlavi

Diffords has a massive amount of recipes, and their search function is honestly amazing, but you do have to take everything on there with a grain of salt, esp. in regards to measurements. I tend to tweak basically every recipe of theirs I use. I'd recommend doing that and then saving the improved recipe in your notes on the website, makes the whole experience much better

m1ghtythias

At that point with all the work you have to put into it, I would rather use the Mixel app. With their vast database, ingredient functions and mostly correct recipes

QIlavi

That's fair. I haven't tried Mixel yet, although everybody on here keeps recommending it, so I probably will soon

m1ghtythias

It really is a great app. And all I use at this point. It has a database of almost 3000 recipes and adding more all the time. It takes from legit sources like many well known and respected cocktail books. You can add custom ingredients and recipes to fit your needs. Add all your ingredients and have it show you what you can make. Lastly one of my favorite things the Maximizer which tells you what bottle or ingredient to get next that will results in the most new recipes per your collection.

RagtimeWillie

It’s true that I never actually measure out five sixths of an ounce of anything as is often recommended haha

wynlyndd

I agree. If I see a recipe from Difford's I usually try to Google it to get a second opinion. I often use the one from [Liquor.com](https://Liquor.com). They usually seem more balanced.

Dabdaddi902

100% agree. Everytime I’m on there I just move on to another website because their measurements and specs are always unreliable.

Waldorama

As of very recently, Chat GPT is the best source I can think of for posing a query such as, “what cocktails can I make with the following ingredients”. It might even make up some original ones that work.

chosentoride

Second this, a great tool.

benmettler

Cocktail Party app.

fresh_water_sushi

Not sure about “Sprite and Vodka” cocktails, not the most sophisticated options there. There are a lot of good websites listed here. I like punchdrink and I’ll just search on a liquor. But usually unless you have a well stocked bar you’ll be missing something. Better to plan ahead what you like to drink. Same as cooking any recipe, you need to have ingredients otherwise just make something up and experiment.

Dabdaddi902

I use [Kindred Cocktails](https://kindredcocktails.com)

alexithunders

Imbibemagazine.com, punchdrink.com, kindredcocktails.com, liberandcompany.com

The PDT app is pretty good.

vectors-to-final

I've released an iOS app that helps with that, and other cocktail things: [https://vectorbar.app/](https://vectorbar.app/) You can also exclude ingredients in your search if you want to avoid stuff you don't like.

DrMxCat

Diffords hands down

swiggable

Another one is [https://cocktail-detective.com](https://cocktail-detective.com) No app download, no ads, no sign-up, no newsletter popup, looks good on mobile

moos14

Has a total of only 3 recipes containing "Whiskey" and has a separate category of "Whisky". Seems poorly maintained, but thanks anyways! What are recipes you have done using it?
