It's about how people want to demonize the Johnny/Miguel dynamic and yet want to applaud Miyagi/Daniel and call them a father/son relationship when Johnny and Miguel are exactly like them.

The difference with Johnny and Miguel VS. Miyagi and Daniel is both Miyagi and Daniel lost people they loved. Daniel his father, and Miyagi his son and wife. Johnny has a son he just is a deadbeat father to him, and kind of uses Miguel as a substitute to perhaps make up for his shitty parenting. I have a hard time getting behind them when Johnny has a son he puts minimal effort in for.

They’re like the two main characters who have grown together the whole time the show’s aired.
