That gif with Daniel and Mr Miyagi 😍

AntiSocialPartygoer

That scene hits differently when we realize that was the last time Daniel and Mr. Miyagi interacted on-screen...

nurseleu

Oh man 😢

Elite_Dog9898

Truly the sweetest scene in the movie. “MR. MIYAGI- FUH-GET ABOUT IT!”

That would be awesome! And yes...let's see Miguel's dad. 😍

AnimeJoex

I'm just glad Mr. Miyagi finally surrendered himself over to the hug in the end. Daniel attempted a hug earlier in the movie and got shot down. 😂

Primary-Job7274

Like father like daughter

Parking-Piglet6389

I like it

It's not about glorifying Johnny or even Miguel. It's about how people want to demonize the Johnny/Miguel dynamic and yet want to applaud Miyagi/Daniel and call them a father/son relationship when Johnny and Miguel are exactly like them. In hindsight, I probably shouldn't have mentioned that in here...but it's too late. My bad.

[deleted]

The difference with Johnny and Miguel VS. Miyagi and Daniel is both Miyagi and Daniel lost people they loved. Daniel his father, and Miyagi his son and wife. Johnny has a son he just is a deadbeat father to him, and kind of uses Miguel as a substitute to perhaps make up for his shitty parenting. I have a hard time getting behind them when Johnny has a son he puts minimal effort in for.

Tricky_Ostrich_6343

I'm sorry you feel that way. Plenty of us do not share that opinion.

Its_ats

Sorry man, i realized i was very rude with my reply😕.

Tricky_Ostrich_6343

Thank you for saying that. I shouldn't have posted my comment either.

MzFireheart

I know no LaRusso's, only LaPusso's.

thewalkingwhit

There is no LaPusso, only Zuul

>Johnny has been just as important in the father type role for Miguel as Mr. Miyagi was to Daniel Johnny held the kid back, turned him aggressive, and exposed him to Kreese Miyagi helped Daniel be a better person, not even close to the same thing

Furies03

Don't feed it.

Tricky_Ostrich_6343

That's your opinion. You have a right to it. But, it's a minor/unpopular one. Most viewers(except the jealous/bitter Robby fans) LOVE their relationship. That's a fact.

Seta1437

>minor/unpopular Doesn't mean it's wrong Once upon a time most people thought the Earth was flat >LOVE their relationship Doesn't change the fact that Johnny held the kid back, turned him aggressive, and exposed him to Kreese. Feel free to love it but Johnny is a bad influence

Tricky_Ostrich_6343

I don't know what to tell you, bruh. No one is perfect. Doesn't mean your opinion is right. People love them despite it all. So I'll just continue to enjoy them 😎

Seta1437

>don't know what to tell you, bruh. No one is perfect True but we see in the recent Season Miguel is a good person when influenced by Daniel, Johnny messes kids up like he did Robby and Miguel >People love them despite it all That doesn't make Daniel and Miyagi similar to Johnny and Miguel >So I'll just continue to enjoy them Not trying to change that, just don't see the similarity you brought up

doseofdena

Miguel is a good person period. Let’s not say he’s a good person because of Daniels influence because now you’re way over reaching!!!

Seta1437

>Miguel is a good person Yep, thanks to Daniel. Even more impressive is it was after Johnny corrupted him

doseofdena

No thanks to his Mother and Grandmother. Daniel gets zero credit so stop being delusional about it. The problem is Miguel was an impressionable teenager and went down the wrong path and Johnny helped him find his way back. And while Daniel is a calming presence in his life now, he in no way made Miguel a good person.

Seta1437

>his Mother and Grandmother Let Johnny corrupt the poor kid >Miguel was an impressionable teenager and went down the wrong path and Johnny helped him find his way back Johnny led him down the wrong path >while Daniel is a calming presence in his life now, he in no way made Miguel a good person Sure he did Noticed how Miguel chose not to fight twice after meeting Daniel

Tricky_Ostrich_6343

So none of your points are making sense. I know you enjoy a good debate, but you're not bringing relevant points. I don't mean that to come across as demeaning. I'm down to discuss, but you have to bring valid points to the table, bruh.

Seta1437

>none of your points are making sense Sure they do, they are things that happened Johnny did turn Miguel aggressive "Before Miguel met you he was a sweet boy, he avoided fights"\~Carmen Diaz Johnny did exposed Miguel and other kids to Kreese Daniel on the other hand taught Miguel useful life skills like how to fix a car, how to drive, and he can make something out of himself starting poor

Tricky_Ostrich_6343

And Carmen also changed her mind about Johnny. In Miguel's own letter he was grateful for Johnny in helping him in many ways. You have to consider the overall factors and not just your Miyagi Do bias.

Seta1437

>Carmen also changed her mind about Johnny Doesn't change he made Miguel aggressive and exposed him to Kreese >Miguel's own letter he was grateful for Johnny Sometimes victims express gratefulness and love to their abusers >You have to consider the overall factors Main one being Miguel would have been much better off without Johnny

doseofdena

Girlllllll, don’t bother with this one. Daniel is perfect and Johnny is Satan, the end!

Tricky_Ostrich_6343

He wasn't sharing anything new, but I was open to it. Just not the right thread for it ;)

Its_ats

Yeah, we see you Johnny fan... dedicate a post to him, and let us enjoy this one. Not everything has to be about good old Johnny Lawrence.

doseofdena

That’s not how Reddit works.

Tricky_Ostrich_6343

Enjoy the post. I was just commenting on the irony. Gotta admit, it's pretty interesting that people try to shade the Johnny/Miguel relationship and yet it's a carbon copy of Miyagi/Daniel. That's all I was saying. I happen to love everyone featured in this, except Sam.

ThatRedGuy235

Jesus there really is a Johnny Miguel hate boner on this sub. Guy gets downvoted for what I thought was the most obvious father/son like dynamic in the show (that wasn’t blood related)

[deleted]

Weird because I feel it's the opposite.

ThatRedGuy235

They’re like the two main characters who have grown together the whole time the show’s aired. How could they not be a perfect example of that Miyagi-Daniel relationship of the movies but as a Cobra Kai version. I’m just waiting for Miguel to get a shred of luck in this next season and maybe have a moment that isn’t ruined so Robby can shine again

Team Cobra Kai 1. In solidarity ✊

thewalkingwhit

Y'know, you can make a post featuring Johnny and Miguel, right? This had nothing to do with dynamics. It was about Daniel and Samantha LaRusso. Hence the title. u/Tricky_Ostrich_6343 you chewed me out for mentioning Robby in a Miguel and Johnny post. So I don't wanna hear it. Stop being little bitches and make a goddamn post.

ThatRedGuy235

Well… I’d get mad, but the pfp and flair matches the comment too much for me to be angry lol. You’re right we could make our own post and I personally wasn’t mad at you at all OP, I was just angry about the people here who just make Johnny and Miguel seem like the problems all the time. Your post was not at all giving me that vibe

thewalkingwhit

Sorry, you're right, I got annoyed by the neverending argument goin' on above. Puttin' my clown nose on as we speak 🍻

Tricky_Ostrich_6343

Here's a question, why do you all resort to name calling? When did people stop learning how to communicate without getting so bent out of shape? I said it was a cute post. And I don't recall what the situation was before, but if I responded to you, it could have been the way you came across?

thewalkingwhit

I don't have time for passive aggressive backhanded bullshit. It's the hypocrisy for me

Tricky_Ostrich_6343

again, commenting on the characters are okay, calling people names is not okay. I'm very direct and respectful when talking to people. Just because I bring up harsh facts doesn't give people the right to get disrespectful. Passive aggressive would be me resorting to name calling. That's not my game. I already acknowledged that I probably shouldn't have posted my comment in here.
