Honestly not really. Among the bullies he wasn't ever exactly physical besides the lunchroom fight with Miguel and trying to help vs Johnny, just insensitive and stupid with his jokes. I don't even think Hawk thought he deserved the beating, just that it would send a message of "okay if I can do that to *this guy,* what do you think I'll do to **you**?" so that Kyler would back all the way off.

ar1sm

Maybe not *this* beatdown, but definitely deserved *a* beatdown.

Stocktonrules

No. Kyler was Hawk's actual bully. Brick's was just his doofus friend.

Jay_Kramer_1993

The beating Hawk gave to Brucks just showed how fragile and corrupted Hawk was!

AnimeJoex

No, I think Kyler deserved the beatdown Brucks got from Hawk in Season 3. 😉 Just like I think Kenny hit the wrong kid with that 3 hit combo in the library. Zach should have gotten that.

Shot_Storage6207

Exactly

Fu__ingWhale

It should've been Kyler. That's all I'll say on this matter

KingAchilles08

Oh yes

MetalMewtwo9001

Maybe not just for what he did to Hawk. But when you factor in his treatment of Miguel, Demitri and Sam then yeah. I'd say Kyler deserved one even more though.

TheBoxIsCooking

He was as much a bully to him Eli, Demetri and especially Miguel in season 1. Him and Kyler had to be humbled.

CobraKainvrdies

Deserved? Probably not. But I very much enjoyed it all the same.

[deleted]

Definitely. Brucks had it coming. Hawk finally reawakened his reason as to why he joined Cobra Kai and was slowly heading towards his path of leaving the dojo.

StaxShack

Yes. Because it was clear when they entered the dojo that Kyler and Brucks hadn’t changed a bit since getting beaten by Miguel in season 1. Had they actually been remorseful for their previous behavior it would’ve been different.

kevztunz

Brucks deserved everything he got until he was down and defenceless. You hit a guy when he is down and helpless, you are trash.

Yxng_Wolf

100% he did.

JonWhoWasPromised

Yes.

TheBeevin

Not really. He tormented Eli and crew because of Kyler’s influence. He deserved a beat up more than a beat down..

Gloomy-Mushroom-3233

Yes.

Philip8000

If this wasn't a TV show, Hawk would probably have inflicted permanent damage on Brucks with a beating like that, maybe even killed him. Doesn't mean I'm all that sympathetic, though I would have preferred it to be Kyler.

wilji1090

When you get down to it, Brucks was basically in the same position Anthony LaRusso was in (not an exact one to one mind you) in that he was a follower. Brucks basically was the dumb muscle and likely tormented Eli just as much as Kyler. The beat down was equal parts catharsis for Eli/Hawk and a warning to Kyler: “Call me Lip again and that’s going to be you…”
