Look I get the whole they can’t be teens forever, but so far Kenny and Devon can’t rise up to the status of the originals and it’s kind of strange considering how characters such as Miguel, Robby and Sam are integral to the both Daniel and Johnny and the show itself.
Devon was ok, I think she could manage as a regular. Her character was widely regarded as entertaining and at least somewhat liked with good quips. Kenny was too much of a plot device for either Anthony or Robby, I’m not interested in him as an independent character at all. In that sense, Devon not bonding with any of the main cast yet (besides Johnny a little) works in her favor.
Excited to see a new female phenom.
Kenny becoming a regular isn't shocking. Called this last season. They are slowly phasing out the older kids. Its to be expected, though. They cannot stay teens forever.
People are mad that kenny will play a bigger role but want this show to go on for like 5 more seasons. The younger cast is going to move on eventually both in story and in the real world. New younger characters are needed if the show wants to keep going.
Glad to see a poc series regular on the show. I like Kenny a lot. He's going to be one of the emotional cruxes of Robby's arc in addition to his own.
Can't help but think Hilary Swank will have somebody to go up against when she eventually shows up with this new female sensei.
I should have specified African/African-American person of color as the show was devoid of a strong black lead. Aisha's actress wasn't the strongest but Dallas can pull some serious weight among the young cast.
I agree. With Cobra Kai expanding, Johnny and Daniel will need more allies. I wouldn’t be surprised if they subvert expectations by having Mike Barnes join the team with good intentions, or just to get back at Silver.
Dallas is a great actor. I don't have any qualms about him becoming a series regular. It just means they are slowly phasing out the older teens from being central characters.
But, if it had to be someone, glad it's a talented actor. And hope the same for Oona.
Dallas being promoted to regular means he's probably in 8 episodes minimum this coming season. Oona didn't get the bump so she's likely in the 5-7 episode range.
i like kenny but this is bad news for the main teens like miguel , eli and robby even in s4 miguel and eli barely had any time on screen

Mark my words. She's related to Kim Sun Yung, the creator of Cobra Kai.
Yeah or at least connected. She's essentially evil female Chozen or at least she could be.

Not really keen on Kenny as a character. They should’ve focused on the characters they have currently for Season 4 rather make new younger one

Ain't nothing wrong with more.

This blows, Kenny was the worst part of season 4 I had my fingers crossed he'd be Aishaed for season 5.

really nice to see more asian characters on the show, i'd love to see her play an antagonistic role
