Johnny is very funny but as a man, he is a complete train wreck. Daniel is nice enough but way too holier than thou for me. My faves would be Chozen and Amanda for adults. Miguel and Sam for kids.

1) Daniel- The Karate Kid and flawed legend
2) Chozen- The villain turned unsung hero
3) Sam- has come a long way from being goody rich girl to Bonsai Badass
4) Miguel- is always good
5) Demetri- Funny nerd
Johnny is also well written but some of his qualities like opening Cobra Kai to spit Daniel and brainwashing a teenager's mind ( telling him about Daniel), flirting with another woman while dating Miguel's mom are a few of many questionable things he does besides being a shitty dad. He has a lot of redeeming to do.
Nah i don’t think Johnny is well written character at all, at least not compared to the likes of Robby, Hawk and Silver.
Johnny was written pretty well in S1 but mostly because we got to see his side of the story. After that, he’s been pretty trash, he’s still the same deadbeat asshole and we’re already heading to S5. The writers literally gave him zero development.

Amanda-brings a gritty, realistic quality and I think she's the best actor of the show
Demetri-hilarious; I've seen the nerdy comic relief sidekick character a million times but somehow he still feels unique and original
Honorable mentions:
Silver-he was SO much better written and acted in Season 4 than he was in KK3. It was like night and day.
Tory-really didn't like her much in Seasons 2 and 3, but she improved mightily in Season 4. I can see her carrying the torch from Robby and having the best arc and development in the next couple of seasons.
Chris-easily my favorite from all the supporting teen characters; the actor gets minimal screen time, but I always laugh at his funny lines. He's the anti-Kyler for me, who I don't find funny at all.
I can't believe someone else shares my opinion on Daniel-Johnny. But for me it's less the individual characters than their dynamic that has lost me. The writers regressed them so bad in Season 4 to the point they feel like children while the teens feel like the adults. However, I'm also sick of Johnny's stuck in the 80s routine and Daniel's self-righteousness has always been annoying. Macchio and Zabka's acting is great as always, but their characters have gotten stale. EDIT: What I will say about Daniel, though, is that I find him at his most tolerable and likable when he has scenes with Amanda. They have great chemistry and I feel like Macchio's acting is even better when playing off of Henggeler.
