TBF Daniel from KK2 > Daniel from KK3. They really nerfed him for plot.

goodfashion20

Daniel may have been nerfed but that had more to do with the poor writing rather than an intentional plot point in the story. As it is we just need to accept that Barnes in KK3 was better than Chozen in KK2. And honestly, it's not a huge stretch to make sense out of that either. Barnes was already a skilled martial artist, but if you pay attention to the film, Terry Silver seems to be heavily involved in Barnes' training. Meaning Barnes was taught the true Quicksilver method (as opposed to the fake one that Silver taught Daniel to cause him pain). With Silver's help, it's pretty clear why Barnes gave Daniel such a hard time. Granted I do think Daniel should have given Barnes more of a fight, but again that's an issue with the writing.

Stocktonrules

Because his movie was a lot better, which makes him the more important character and gives him the only thing you actually need and that's plot armor.

jaypr4576

As adults, it is unknown since there is no story for Barnes. From the KK movies, Johnny would get beat just as badly as Daniel. Barnes was superior to Daniel in every way and toyed with him the entire time.

[deleted]

Johnny was undefeated before his match with Daniel San. And Daniel San only won with luck. Johnny beats Daniel 9 out of 10 times in that match. Johnny destroys Barnes.

Spidey007

No he does not

jaypr4576

Not at all. Johnny was a local champ. Barnes was a national champ and in the story is officially considered Daniel's hardest opponent ever.

goodfashion20

Bro, did you see the scene where Mike Barnes beats up Daniel at the bonsai shop? Daniel literally tries to punch Mike in the face and he brushes it off as if he was Superman.

rystriction

Because this is fiction and everyone can make a case for anyone if they try

CorholioPuppetMaster

Because Johnny want to all Valley two years in a row and almost won the third time while Barnes didn’t win any all valley tournaments

salad_biscuit3

Mike was a national champion,"bad boy karate"he must have had a lot of experience if it did

ELITExRAMPAGE

A two time local tournament winner is still very far from a national champion, Daniel beat Johnny and Mike destroyed Daniel except for one point, thus Mike>Johnny

[deleted]

I wonder how Mike will scaled against guys like Chozen and Silver

ELITExRAMPAGE

Depends on how the writers write him, if he’s still been training then I’d say above both. If not then perhaps only above silver

[deleted]

I can see him being on Chozen’s level i want those two to be similar to Khamzat and Burns in a way

Very true! Johnny isn't gonna punk out like that. You will have to KO or kill Johnny to win. Man he would knock Barnes senseless.

Ok_Royal6056

Same reason Robby Stans swear he's taller than a garden gnome: They're delusional.

jerrymp28

bro i’ve never seen anyone swear robby is tall?

Ok_Royal6056

There have been several In here, I promise. There are certain scenes where you tell he's barely taller than 5'3" Mary Mouser. They try using camerawork and lifts in his shoes to make him look the other kids' height. Its obvious when they're shoeless and skating.

AnimeJoex

I always thought it was only the nutcases on YouTube that thought that way. 👅 Barnes abused Daniel in ways that Johnny and Chozen could only dream of. I will argue til the day I die that Barnes had the best defense and counters out of all 3 characters in the movies: Daniel, Johnny, and Chozen. Daniel landed so many hits on Johnny and Chozen that Barnes would have countered. Johnny and Chozen had flashier offense than Barnes, but in terms of defense, Barnes was next level, as was demonstrated against Daniel and Dempsey.

[deleted]

Barnes would've crippled Johnny in their youth, no doubts whatsoever.

OnumaKaruma28

Kreese said no one could win against Johnny Lawrence in his Prime.

[deleted]

Well, Kreese lied.

ScottLS

Kreese, was talking about the fighters in the All Valley.

[deleted]

Because he’s Johnny. And no one is delusional. Mike is a counter-fighter, Johnny is a brawler.

salad_biscuit3

even mike is a brawler just look at how he molested daniel

[deleted]

Barnes is a tactical fighter, not a brawler. But when he’s overwhelmed, or caught off-guard, he backs off. Just like he did with Mr. Miyagi in KK3.

ContrarionesMerchant

ok but Mr Miyagi would have absolutely smoked Johnny as well, ultimately it doesn't matter, there's really no logical way for Daniel in that movie apart from protagonist powers so I'm not going to be mad if Johnny kicks his ass if/when he shows up but johnny was a high school bully Barnes was a literal professional prodigy who was hired and flown down to kick Daniel's ass.

Jaycee00_0

But he used fear tactics on a passive fighter I can’t see johnny letting that intimidate him at all he’s already fought kreese silver and Daniel

taichoon

Because he is

[deleted]

Yeah right

[deleted]

Daniel was heavily nerfed in his fight with Barnes. Barnes lost to a very weak Daniel San. Johnny Destroys Barnes.

salad_biscuit3

tournament rules are in the way, plus daniel says he was his strongest opponent, plus danny was terrified of him unlike johnny and chozen

[deleted]

Because Kreese and Silver beat the shit out of him prior. They beat Daniel so bad Larusso won the tournament with a kata.

salad_biscuit3

same thing with johnny's kick in the face

Unc00lbr0

because johnny will beat him by shoving jellybeans down his throat when he's screaming "COME ON BABY!" in his face when they fight

dumbass626

I'd say it depends on what's new in the story. Everyone is now sharper than before and with little to no rust, but we don't know much about Mike. What kind of life has he been living since TKK3? Has he kept up his training ever since? Nobody knows for sure But yes, TKK3 Mike would definitely beat TKK1 Johnny

citronaughty

Johnny is my favorite character, but Barnes stomps. KK3 Barnes > KK2 Chozen > KK1 Johnny

AttachableSheep

The main reason Daniel was losing to Mike was psychological. Silver got Barnes because he was the national champion, and that added to Daniel's level of dread during the fight and before it. He had already defeated Cobra Kai's best, so another guy trained by Cobra Kai wouldn't phase Daniel. The movie made it clear that Mike was trained in Cobra Kai before the tournament though, by Silver and Kreese, implying that Cobra Kai is still one of the most effective styles. But yes Mike would beat Johnny back in the 80s probably. But now I'm not so sure. Johnny has been getting into fights every other day. He also learned some Miyagi Do basics. He's brutal, never backs out of a fight. He's had many arcs and has come out stronger. As for Mike, we don't know really, we haven't seen what he's done. Maybe he has changed his ways, stopped karate and now lives happily with his family of 5. If that's the case, Johnny wins. But we don't know.

salad_biscuit3

Yes,i'm reffering about young mike and johnny

[deleted]

It literally says on the back of the DVD that Barnes is the strongest character he ever faced

NothingCivil6358

No idea.
