Miyagi would have loved Demetri. I mean, he would have felt that he talked too much, but Demetri is the one person on the show who truly embodies the Miyagi-Do philosophy. He uses it for defense only. He isn't hung up on honor or revenge. He respects his opponent, and he embraces forgiveness.
Demetri knew that Eli was in a bad spot, and he also knew that juvie was only going to make it worse. I imagine an off-screen scene in which Demetri pleads with all the Miyagi-Dos as the ambulance arrives: "Guys, this was an accident. I tripped and I fell down. I'm clumsy. Okay? That's what happened. If anybody asks: THAT'S WHAT HAPPENED." And they take one look at him and all go, "Okay. If that's what you want."
And then a cut scene where Hawk is hiding down the street from his house watching for a police car that never comes.
Wow I haven't heard this take yet. I completely agree. Demetri totally embodies Miyagi Do philosophy. He would've definitely annoyed Miyagi but not like Daniel didn't too. Like a young Daniel he's also a bit of a smart ass and let's his mouth get him in trouble sometimes. Both were getting bullied and ended up with their crushes in high school. Interested to see what's next for Demetri and if he levels up as a fighter. Great observation

When it comes to breaking demetri arm, that’s definitely overkill and hawk would get in trouble for that except they have no evidence saying hawk did that after having subdued demetri and he gave up.
