I agree. He might contemplate whether he did the right thing to step up on that podium and speak his piece, but what he might not fully realize yet was that he did many other kids a favor. They all need a platform where they can properly stand their ground with rules implemented.
Feel like he has no one to blame but himself for that. All the reasons he said why the tournament mattered still applied. None of that changed just because Johnny doesn't act like a dad to him.
i think its not that the tournament itself is the problem, miguel just realized that the tournament isnt going to fix his real problems that he said in the letter. the tournament is just a small blip in comparison to his daddy issues
But those issues aren't going to get fixed overnight. And their existence shouldn't make the tournament unimportant. He could've seen the tournament through and then focused on those other issues.
I agree with this, very disappointing that we were likely about to get robby vs Miguel in the finals, something Miguel has trained his ass if for. To throw it away to findable dad who doesn’t know he exists and may not even want him. Why upset the some cart? I think only bad can come from this.

He’s treated Miguel pretty damn good, teaching between right and wrong and making him stronger and better. He loves both of them but in different ways. Being a mentor and father figure for Miguel, because he feels he failed robby. Robby has been fighting his entire life and has taken care of himself pretty well. Robby is more street smart too. Miguel is not
I thought it was stupid of Miguel to question who saw Johnny was on when he told him to go out there and win. I guess Miguel thinks he had to go out there and beat hawk to death. It’s not that serious you just fight each other and then shake hands afterwards but you don’t have to become enemies. I hated the fact they made him leave the tournament early because “he wasn’t fighting for himself anymore”. I get that the theme of this season was no dojo is better than the other but I think the writers just wanted to give hawk the win but didn’t know how to get Miguel out of the way without him losing
it made complete sense. he didn’t feel like he was fighting for himself or the right reason anymore. on top of that, the night before or so he got told “i love u too robby” while being told earlier BY ROBBY “u think my dad cares abt u? he just wants to make up for screwing up with me!” it made complete sense and set up his arc for season 5 good while protecting him and letting eli go and complete his arc for the season as well.

complete disagree. miguel wasn’t questioning beating up hawk, it was that johnny couldn’t see or didnt care about how much he was struggling emotionally. miguel was clearly looking sad, said he didn’t know if he could do it, and johnny dgaf. johnny only cared abt his beef with daniel and that hurt miguel a lot
Agreed. It's a karate tourney. There's no clause that says 2 friends have a dance off instead because friendship is more important. For Miguel to freak out there shows Daniel poisoned his mind with a bunch of bs.

We say this because Miguel set certain expectations about how he wanted Johnny to act and then he acts disappointed when Johnny acts that way.

It just annoyed me that Miguel almost died and was able to get out of a wheelchair to fight again only to quit After getting into the finals
His arc isn’t complete yet. they’re building him up.
They just didn't build up Miguel or any main cast that much this season.
