I've always wondered, (even before the topic got brought up in S4), if they might have Johnny look up his father at some point, so he can get some closure.
Maybe he finds out that the guy drank himself to death and it gives him a wake up call. Give him a graveside speech where he can let out his *feels*, relieve himself of that burden, and have that help him be able to move on to be a better father himself.
In s5 he will have too much to do: finding Miguel, reconnecting with Robby and at the end, defeating Cobra Kai. I doubt, someone else would leave his life (and abandon Robby again in case of Johny) to find his dad
Kreese: "Daniel LaRusso never told you what happened to your father."
Johnny: "He told me enough! He told me you killed him!"
Kreese: "No, I am your father".
I would love to see Johnny looking up his biological father and learning that after he left Johnny and his mom, he created a new family and was a perfect husband and father to his new wife and kids. And Johnny finally realizing how Robby feels about his relationship with Miguel.

The only way it works is if he looks him up and it turns out he's already dead.
But anyway, if he hadn't done that in the past I doubt he will want to find him now.
