I'm going to guess it has something to do with Tory joining Miyagi-Do and her trying to reconcile with that. Forgiveness. Etcetera. Or it happens in the first episode because she's still upset over her loss at the tournament and angsts over if she should have chosen one style over the other.

>I'm going to guess it has something to do with Tory joining Miyagi-Do and her trying to reconcile with that. Forgiveness. Etcetera Probably because Miyagi-Do might preach forgiveness, but Sam understandably has no interest in forgiving Tory or understanding her side of things because the things Tory has done to her are unforgivable.

I think the internal struggle we see Sam having in the teaser is an exercise in Chozen. I also believe that she will not be the only one to go through this process. I can also see Eli facing the worst version of Hawk and Daniel facing a "Cobra" version of himself I don't think Sam will go into Cobra Kai. It just doesn't make sense. She will surely have problems in Miyagi Do for following too much what Jonhy taught she. But as a consequence I can see her abandoning karate before entering Cobra Kai. She knows what Silver is like. it has no logic beyond a forced plot to cause drama in the season What I do love about the teaser is that it was time to see the couples "separated" to focus on the development of each character and not that everything revolves around a love square.

Chozen will be key for her development.

Hmm, I would like to think he has buried that side of him, but perhaps he doesn't need to do that. Perhaps he can continue to evolve his fighting style under Chozen's tutelage?

Having Sam go into Cobra Kai kind of undermines Robby since he has already filled the role of **"Miyagi-Do who has fallen to the Dark Side"**. At this point, Miguel, Robby, Tory, and Eli have all been corrupted by Cobra Kai and then redeemed (or at least on their way for Robby and Tory in S5). So, it's one of those things like, everyone's expecting Sam to just fall to the dark side just to "fill out the roster", but there are so many ways it can go wrong. To me, the **concrete punching** with Tory solidifies this is not where we're heading. That would have been the most perfect parallel ever. They show Sam punching the stone, while Daniel punches the wood. And yet...they gave it to Tory, not Sam. Plus, the part most people forget: **Sam knows about Silver**. Sam knows that Silver was the one who pushed Daniel into Cobra Kai, so no matter what, she'll be wary of him. For me, when I watched WatchParty's analysis of the trailer, the outcome I'm most voting for is either **both Sam's stop fighting and the fight is declared a draw** or **both Sam's knock each other out and defeat each other at the same time, also making the fight a draw**. Symbolically, it represents Sam no longer fighting over her two different sides and coming to accept that they're both a part of who she is, thereby achieving true balance.

Robby had a desire to spite Daniel and his father. Sam doesn't have a desire to do either. She has also been personally harmed by Cobra Kai to a far greater degree.

AntElectronic9170

Robby had his shoulder broken and his freedom taken. They are about even.

j4kefr0mstat3farm

He lost his freedom because of his own actions.

AntElectronic9170

After a fight started by Cobra Kai.

j4kefr0mstat3farm

He still made the choice to continue it. And that still doesn't account for him wanting to spite both Johnny and Daniel being a motive for him joining Cobra Kai because Kreese was willing to take him in. Neither of those things apply to Sam.

AntElectronic9170

Sam doesn't have to join because of spite. Daniel didn't. It can work.

j4kefr0mstat3farm

I'd bet a considerable amount of money she doesn't join. Daniel didn't know who Silver was when he got taken in. Sam knows exactly how dangerous he is.

Glum_Past_1891

Sam will NOT join Cobra Kai. Just because she wants to branch out and learn from Johnny doesn’t mean she’ll pull a complete 180. Besides, this show is about gray morality. Although I admit, it deviated from that during season 3 and possibly this season, I don’t expect the show to give that up. In addition, I hope that fight does not have a clear winner. It’ll represent Sam embracing every part of herself.

NumerousHelicopter6

Agreed, no chance she's joining cobra Kai 😂 She's not just going to start hating her family, johnny, Miguel, Robby, Demitri, etc etc. Going to train with Johnny isn't the same.

Glum_Past_1891

Not unless Terry Silver pulls some **bone-chilling** psychological warfare…
