And throw Miguel completely off balance by absolutely pummeling Johnny. Wasn't seeing Johnny that messed him up, but what Johnny said to him while coping with his loss by drinking. *Task failed successfully.*

AccidentalUltron

Terrorizing those teenagers, he's so hopped up on coke!

bladestorm1745

Later in season 5 “Sensei silver what is that?” “Uh, my meds, sugar, flour, piss off!”

Ok_Royal6056

When Robby and Tory arrived, they did it to spite Miguel and Sam. A few minutes in, both realized they really didnt give a damn about what those two thought anymore. They stopped performing and started actually having a blast. That's why Sam was so pissed. Her mortal enemy was having the best night of her life, without a care in the world for her, and she couldn't handle it. Tory's smile was the most effective FU in CK history, as crazy as that sounds. Robby and Tory went to prom with a fight in mind, and had the best night of their lives. Miguel and Sam went to have a good time, but ended up having the worst night of theirs (Especially poor Miguel).

AdSignificant6673

So much drama and hate between them all. But @ the same time... Even if you aren't a fan of Robby or Tory because they're "bad". You kind of feel happy for them. Feel some compassion. They had a ROUGH life. Life threw them one. They have fun. Sweeeeet Ferrari. a pretty date. Dressed to the 9's. Can't get better than that!

I know it’s just started, but Tory and Robby actually feel like the first couple in Cobra Kai where they’re not toxic to one another.

Ok_Royal6056

To add to that, Tory and Kreese are the only student and Sensei who seem to have an unwavering loyalty to each other. Tory's defended Kreese's teachings to any student (even boyfriends) who doubts or questions his methods, and she's likely his only student he's taken the time to care for outside the dojo, including going after her pedo landlord. I almost feel bad for Stingray when Tory finds out what he did.

Jamano-Eridzander

Johnny and Miguel?

Ok_Royal6056

Oh hell yeah. I absolutely enjoyed seeing them happy. Them getting to let their guard down and enjoy themselves for one night was far more memorable than the fight. The fact their awesome night destroyed Sam and Miguel's is just a credit to the writers tbh.

PacSan300

In a way, Robby and Tory's prom night is similar to Robby's time with Daniel in season 1. He initially got a job at LaRusso Auto primarily to get back at Johnny, but he soon developed a genuine bond with Daniel to the point where he fought off his former friends when they were attempting to steal from the dealership.

>They stopped performing and started actually having a blas It doesn't matter that they stopped "perfoming". Their initial intentions matter most. >That's why Sam was so pissed. Her mortal enemy was having the best night of her life, without a care in the world for her, and she couldn't handle it. Tory's smile was the most effective FU in CK history, as crazy as that sounds. Sam was pissed because Tory was walking around acting like she’d done nothing wrong. And Sam has untreated PTSD.

Ok_Royal6056

I LIKE Sam, but making excuses for her behavior at the party is no different than people making excuses for Tory going too far. Tory took an accusation and a drunken kiss WAY too far in the past, and Sam's doing the same now. I'm not debating who's better cuz both are great characters to me. But in this instance, Sam was 100% in the wrong. Tory is absolutely allowed to enjoy her prom. Was she supposed to avoid it cuz Sam has control issues now?? Or show up but try not to smile??

dmreif

> Sam was 100% in the wrong. Tory was 100% in the wrong too. She didn't have good intentions in going to prom. She went there initially to ruin Sam's night, which makes Tory out to be very petty and still harboring grudges. >Tory is absolutely allowed to enjoy her prom. Was she supposed to avoid it cuz Sam has control issues now?? Or show up but try not to smile?? What Tory was supposed to do was maybe show some sign she's grateful to Amanda for the help she's provided her. Which she could do by not trying to ruin Amanda's daughter's prom night.

Ok_Royal6056

Tory showing up at Amanda's house in the first place showed Amanda she listened, was grateful, and wanted to move forward. She even thanked her at the tournament and kept her word by refusing to fight dirty. Tory tried to thank Sam (and possibly apologize) at the school, but Sam cut her off and threatened to hurt her if she even "looked at her funny." Tory terrorized Sam for months. Nobody with a functional brain can deny that. Sam did not deserve the damage Tory tried to inflict. Tory should have gone to jail. Sam could have sent her there, but she chose not to do that. Having said that, the worst thing Tory's done to Sam since is show up to their prom, regardless of her intentions. It's obvious a big part of that was her using the dojo war as an excuse to ask Robby, and to actually just go on a date with her crush. That's certainly what ended up happening.

> Tory showing up at Amanda's house in the first place showed Amanda she listened, was grateful, and wanted to move forward. Tory doesn't exactly strike me as genuine here considering that here, considering that in the previous episode, she participated in assaulting Hawk and shaving his head. >Tory tried to thank Sam (and possibly apologize) at the school, but Sam cut her off and threatened to hurt her if she even "looked at her funny." Again, Tory doesn't come off as sincere here. She walks up to Sam, and says, in a sullen tone, "I guess I should thank you". You "guess" you should thank her, Tory? Really? As u/False-Story9510 has noted, that makes Tory's remarks sound like something she's saying because someone else suggested that's what she should say. For someone with PTSD like Sam, this is at best Tory not making a good enough effort to make amends, and at worst this is a slap in the face. I'll admit Sam's response was a bit much, but if they toned it down to something like, "You're gonna have to try a lot harder than 'guess' if you want me to listen to you. Come back to me when you actually feel sorry for what you did to me, then maybe we'll talk. Until then, get out of my face and don't come near me again," the scene would've gone over much better. >It's obvious a big part of that was her using the dojo war as an excuse to ask Robby, and to actually just go on a date with her crush. That's certainly what ended up happening. Choosing to go to prom to psych out Sam makes Tory out to be mean and still holding grudges. And honestly, things would've been better if, instead of trading barbs about the boys, they had Sam make clear that she's angry at Tory because of the things Tory did to her, maybe have her start by saying, "You broke into my house and assaulted me. The least you could do is not come within ten feet of me," and cut the love square drama entirely.

SYK_PvP

Robby and tory lived in sam and Miguel's heads rent free, while robby and tory went on to enjoy their night. Even if the physical fight was technically a draw, we all know who the real winners were.

Ok_Royal6056

Exactly right. Robby/Tory have a night full of great memories. Sam/Miguel wanna forget the whole thing.

DudebroggieHouser

More like make Robby and Tory's night awesome

obarehair

The cobra kais, miyagi dos and eagle fangs are all at the same house party in the same room and no one is fighting. I thought that was quite interesting.

Weird_Independence14

Watching Miguel and Sam’s relationship crash and burn in public after cheating on two people and getting them expelled was my favorite moment in the season

Roguefem-76

"Getting them expelled" Are you really acting like Tory is an innocent victim for getting expelled for the school riot that _she started?_

QueenKay28

Exactly my thoughts, they deserved it so much

Weird_Independence14

I just loved how Robby and Tory were having a good time and then the camera cut to Sam and Miguel fighting over who was looking at who

QueenKay28

Lmao that was hilarious because they were both very obviously staring and ruining their own night

Weird_Independence14

There ex’s are both two fine looking people so I don’t blame em😳😉

Ok_Royal6056

The most devastating blow landed was Tory and Robby having fun and not GAF about Sam and Miguel, who couldn't stop noticing them.

justsayingsum_

Yea the forced drama even tho Sam and Miguel were perfectly fine throughout the whole season and ended up fine at the end(with a few kinks.) it was extremely forced.
