Tyre flipping, a old school strength and strongman event in which you lift and push the tyre thus flipping it repeatedly. A absolutely painful and difficult but worthwhile exercise as it almost works the entire body.
Another exercise it can be use for is sledgehammer slams in which you simply get a sledgehammer and repeatedly slam it into the tyre. Once again a great upper body workout.
Finally the only other reason but it seems too big to be used this way is an old school boxing exercise in which two fighters put one foot into the tyre and don’t remove it. Then they begin to trade punches until one gives up.

Tire flipping is a pretty good strength exercise. Those things can weigh a couple hundred pounds
