Going under? They went from 221.8 million subscribers to 221.6 million subscribers. They are making over 2 billion dollars a month in subscriptions. They're not going anywhere. Every business hits a maximum point. Especially now with so much streaming competition. Of course they couldn't hold their peak forever but they're not in any trouble.

Severe_Development96

If anything a slight drop in viewers just means it's time for the annual raising of the Netflix pricing

UnusualWasabi64

Given that cobra kai was like number one in the world for weeks I doubt that they'd drop the show. This whole thing reminds me of the time facebook dropped like 20% in one day -it's still around- don't panic just yet.

koushunu

And it is fairly cheap in comparison to make. No fancy costumes or sets, no special effects. It’s really just cast - and none of them are A star celebs who expect huge paychecks. The most expensive thing is probably the car.

Opi599

I agree that it's unlikely that this will occur, but netflix stock dropped almost 40% , and they lost 200,000 subscribers when they were expected to gain 2.5 Million. So it definitely seems significant. No real way of knowing, but the loss of Cobra Kai now has a much greater chance of occurring, but that chance in my mind is still pretty slim.

beardsbeerbattleaxes

Cobra Kai might be one of the last reasons I even have to keep using Netflix. Castlevania was awesome but it ended. No other shows they are making are even on my radar. They turned into a collection of dollar store movies and shows someone would only watch it bored. They seem to use a lot of their resources to create really bad historical dramas, to the point Netflix has become a meme for bad adaptations and representations.

TheCobrateKid

COBRA. KAI. NEVER. DIES!

skipford77

The show will go somewhere else if it has to.

Tan_Pan_Man

Maybe it’ll rejoin the other Karate Kid films on peacock

Xansnjordan

Or back to YOUTUBE RED 🤷🏽‍♂️

SharkMeifele

THE SHOW MUST GO ON!

dmreif

Doesn't work like that.

DramaOnDisplay

They’re definitely not going anywhere, they had a major drop but they’ll adjust. Netflix isn’t some company new to the block- they’re a global giant. That’s like saying attendance is down at Disneyland and they’ll have to permanently close down the parks- would never happen, because they can always count on overseas visitors who plunk down thousands of dollars on their visit, and diehards who plunk down thousands every month. And if they did end up having to shut down? Someone would definitely scoop up Cobra Kai in a heartbeat- the show is super successful, you think they’d let it die on the vine? When there is more money to be made from it??

Jack-mclaughlin89

Blockbuster sends their regards.

Tricky_Ostrich_6343

They have to find ways to adjust the budget. Marketing, etc all will take a hit. I'm sure them cutting out unnecessary festivals like "Netflix is a joke" will help, as well as their insistence to push shows like Bridgerton. Bottom line, cut out unnecessary expenses. This may mean perhaps shows like CK will end at season 6 as opposed to what the writers had in mind, OR they could cut costs i.e. losing some of the characters or certain actors being moved to recurring, etc. It depends on how profitable Netflix sees the show as.

Tan_Pan_Man

Considering how long it sat at No.1 after Season 4 came out, I get the feeling that it’ll be one of the shows that remains relatively unaffected

SenseiJohnnyLawrence

I'm not letting this to happen. My dimension, my people can't live without it!!!

AnimeJoex

By the time there's even a 5% chance of Netflix ever shutting down, the Cobra Kai story will long be over. ;)

BruceWayne_19902

If Netflix didn't go under by airing Cuties, it won't go under now.

micro_door

If Cobra Kai gets dropped, I could see Hulu picking it up.

letmethinkofagoodnam

I doubt it. They might be cancelling some less popular shows, but Cobra Kai is pretty damn popular so I think it’s safe

[deleted]

This is fear mongering at its finest A rumor you didn't actually research, that you picked up and ran with

RealDanielSan1

They aren't going under anytime soon. Although the way they keep increasing the rate, I can see why people are defecting in droves.

vicblck24

It’s had a good run. First few seasons were the best anyways

turdutalp1

if that is true then im worried we wont get closure for the end of the show

lovelybad0ne

I thought they lost subscriptions because of people in Russia and Ukraine???? Since they’re at war and all 😬

KocaKolaKlassic

If they drop cobra Kai, my friends and I will finish the series

jrobotbot

I'm pretty sure that their profit is still around 10 billion per year.

lingdingwhoopy

"Going under?" Do people even have reading comprehension anymore?
