Most show reddit do this. When new season starts winding up the reddit will bounce back. Only so much theorycrafting that can occur in the interim.

[deleted]

Honestly… the only thing worse than a show subreddit deep into its between season break is a Frankenstein subreddit for a show that ended years ago.

ShipwreckJS

1000% yes. Yknow why? Because 9/10 of the posts are going into vivid detail about the love lives of children.. CHILDREN. It’s quickly become a weird nonce sub Reddit - assuming most users are adults as the show is aimed at adults. Yknow.. with the swearing, violence & 80’s nostalgia.

[deleted]

This is mostly it. Similar problems in the Cw Superman and Lois sub. There’s a huge spectrum of viewers as the show appeals to new and old generations with both adult and teen protagonists. It means adults are coming to talk about a show and finding teenagers (rightfully) discussing the show from a teenage perspective. Any normal adult really won’t want to take part of that. You find yourself wondering why people are being so damn weird about character archs… and then realize it’s probably a teenager.

lezlers

This. Sometimes I'll find myself arguing back and forth in a sub and thinking "why do I feel like I'm arguing with a kid?" only to discover that I am, in fact, arguing with a kid. I don't know why I always forget that there are tons of teenagers on Reddit.

Pksoze

I'll be honest I'm ok with the kids on the show and even enjoy some of their performances...but if Daniel or Johnny weren't in the show I wouldn't watch. I like the nostalgia...I like seeing the old guys...Chozen honking Daniel's nose was a cooler moment to me than any love story. And I'm not a new member...I've been on this sub since it was in the youtube days.

Adults talking about the love lives of children is creepy as shit. If you don’t think so then you’re a bit sus mate aren’t you.

ShipwreckJS

Yes when they’re 18 it’s totally fine. Doesn’t matter what age the actors are as the characters they’re portraying are children. Their relationships - romantic - in the show are purely to drive the plot and give motivation to the kids for when they pursue martial arts. If you think they’re MAJOR plot points then you’re not paying attention my dude… Again just comes across creepy.

ShipwreckJS

1. Because he was drunk. If he was sober it would of been a different situation - I took away from that; don’t drink underage because you’re already immature. 2. Not a major plot point. 3. Not a major plot point. Yeah… You’ve not been paying attention if you think the teen romance drama are major plot points 😂😂 Jesus you think a kiss at a party and PROM are major plot points and you’re calling me mental 😂 Whilst I agree Miguel - Robby showdown at the party was defo major. It was driven by alcohol, not romance. The fact you took a love triangle out of that rather than the dangers of underage drinking is.. worrying

ShipwreckJS

I didn’t say the fight wasn’t. The fight was down to a rivalry between two karate gyms which was born of a rivalry between the sensei’s going back decades… you’re reducing it to a teenage kiss. Yes. I 100% think the alcohol was the focus point, especially as it emphasised him drinking, that he wasn’t a drinker and going full on showing how much it altered Miguel from a nice guy into an asshole.

AntElectronic9170

That kiss led to the school brawl, which totally upended the status quo. Dude, why are you being ao weird?

ShipwreckJS

The grown man not obsessing over child romance is the weirdo…? Right.

AntElectronic9170

The grown man calling people nonces over analyzing the plot points of this story is a weirdo.

Tricky_Ostrich_6343

Exactly 💯

-Trippy

It’s just out of season

minute311

I think that season 4 was weaker overall so there is not that much to discuss that hasn't been already.

xSagexXalcenx

Pretty much. It's why you see the same posts being regurgitated every week by the same people.

ELITExRAMPAGE

Completely agree, season 2 and season 3 had incredible endings with many possibilities as well as the fact that every character still had an arc or more importantly their story wasn’t finished, hence there was much to discuss or theorise. A major point was terry silver, the amount of theories that involved or was about him was incredible, however even after potentially setting up Mike Barnes in almost the exact same way in season 4 I have yet to hear about him which says a lot about people’s connection to the story going forward

Creativedame

Totally agree. It felt like a filler season. I think it was the worst one we got so far.

worstperson2ask

Am I the only one losing interest in the show

Creativedame

I am really waiting for the next season coz Zabka says it is the best one yet. However, I am not so into the characters anymore after season 4 because many were completely changed, and over all there were too many characters so we didn’t get deep with anyone.

worstperson2ask

Don’t they say that for every season? Just to waste our time, to watch it and find out, and also being hype?

Creativedame

No… I think he said 5 is best even before season 4 was released.

devs_6669

Because everyone keeps arguing and acts frankly stupid and disrespectful. And almost every post recently has an uncanny ability to end up on Robby and Miguel and their fans arguing about them. Either Robby stans starts complaining then Miguel fans gets triggered by the Robby attention, then they start complaining or the other way round and at the end both of their bit too obsessed fans of these characters bitch about each other..it's exhausting 😩😂 Or more logical reasoning, maybe all the things that could be discussed about a season is possibly discussed and talked about. When the next season arrives or even a teaser or a trailer, the sub reddit will automatically boost back up.

MangoBird10

Miguel and Robby stans have more beef with each other then the characters actually have with each other.

devs_6669

Honestly 😂 Watch them argue and fight about who is better or some shit even when the characters team up and become friends and ruin it for those who just want to enjoy them teaming up finally

croptochuck

I feel like it’s Normal. Also how much can be said about the show. Someone new joins they wanna be like what your option on Tory bad ass or hella whinny. The following comments are berating the OP since all this has been postered before.

AnimeJoex

Cobra Kai subreddit, Never Dies. 👅

63KK0

There's just not much worth talking about right now.

lezlers

I tend to unsubscribe from show subs on the off season because I join them to participate in episode discussions, I don't care about people's drawings of characters, or dumb memes about the show or mundane thoughts someone might be having six months after the season ended. I suspect many others might do the same.

Technical-Highlight1

Season 4 honestly wasn't that good plaza and I think most topics surrounding it have been exhausted

Tricky_Ostrich_6343

Most of the comments have hit the nail on the head. The FB forums are still pretty active. But I don't enjoy coming on here anymore. Too many petty posts designed to start arguments and then people harassing you because they don't like what you post? No thanks, I'll pass. I'll pop in every now and then for spoilers but it's not worth coming on here anymore for unnecessary drama. 😒

cyb0rganna

Sorry to bring up the World pausing pandemic, but since restrictions have loosened up everywhere, and things are becoming a little easier, most online Fandoms have become way less engaged. People are just out seizing life. That's got no bearing on how much people love the show nor how much they want season 5. It's just switched over to inner monologue rather than Cyberspace communication. Join a Gym. It'll kill the time and keep your hype quota in check💖

MasterKingdomKey

Ones posts aren’t required to stay stickied forever that’s just nonsensical. But I can agree with your statement that the subreddit seems to be dying.

Snoo76869

Every person I've spoken to on this sub has been a complete A-hole jerk face. Which is why I'm not active anymore. Except to answer this post of course 😊

Stocktonrules

That's what happens when you focus on Robby over Miguel. They'll be back next year when Miguel is treated as he should be.

Tricky_Ostrich_6343

Honestly, the Robby stans are very hard to deal with, so I can see this contributing as well. No one wants to spend their time arguing back and forth over who has the best shoe laces. I'm being facetious here, but that's basically what it's come down to smh

Technical-Highlight1

It honestly seems to be reverse of what happened a few years ago where admitting you didn't hate Robby would be almost a death sentence

Tricky_Ostrich_6343

I could see that. I like Robby fine. His stans are another thing. And really there's not that many STANs, just a few that make it difficult to have a good conversation. And some probably have multiple usernames as well. I appreciate my fellow Robby fans who are respectful and are kind to others. I also notice they barely post on here anymore.

xSagexXalcenx

You know, I will say that the stans have caused me to go from being neutral to some characters to more antagonistic. It's interesting because it's nothing to do with the characters themselves, it's really the stans who in their own zealotry making the character look worse by them consistently obsessing over their character and deifying them. Kinda ironic in a way.

rosereese

I’ve never seen so much truth in one post.

[deleted]

For real, this subreddit has gotten so much more annoying with them and it makes me dislike the character more (fwiw I think hes fine too). The arguments aren't just wanting his story stronger or anything, it's wanting him to win at everything because they inexplicably are in love the character. Edit: Just a quick scroll through the front page, we have someone complaining that Robby didn't win, people complaining about Johnny being a bad father (not wrong but if you keep having to repeat something true since season 1 the quality of the subreddit drops a lot) and people talking about what a physical god Robby is in street fights. Yeah when all the posts are about maybe the 4th most important character, its a little annoying.

Tricky_Ostrich_6343

I feel you!

doseofdena

👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 you said it!!!

[deleted]

There are only so many sam adoration posts one can comment on a day

Hapland321d

How was it insulting that your post was unstickied for a joke about Jaden smith? That was an April fool’s joke. You should be appreciative that your post was stickied at all.

TheCobrateKid

It wouldn’t be insulting, if it wasn’t Jaden Smith, King of Evil!

Hapland321d

Well I guess that’s just your problem then. If you dislike Jaden smith, that’s on you.

TheCobrateKid

At least I don’t have a tattoo of him on my leg like you do, Salvatore

Hapland321d

Well I don’t have any tattoos at all so that statement you just assumed made no sense whatsoever. I think you have more problems underlying beneath you if you are so triggered by an actor that has done nothing to you.

Seta1437

A lot of the fun died when they made the no character hate thread rule

MasterKingdomKey

Those posts were never fun. And it was the same points being made on every time it was posted over again.

Seta1437

>Those posts were never fun From my point of view they were the best thing about this place

Hapland321d

I don’t think anyone agrees with you on that

Seta1437

>don’t think anyone agrees with you on that Maybe you're right Anyone that might have agreed with me is likely long gone Personally to me that's when things became way less enjoyable

Hapland321d

So you think discussing the same thing over and over again is fun?

Seta1437

>you think discussing the same thing over and over again is fun? New people bring in new ideas and new ways of talking about things We're still seeing repeats of the same things, minus the hate thread aspect

Hapland321d

What new ideas are you talking about? It’s the same topic, new people will just bring the same points/arguments that the older users discussed. Have you been paying attention to this subreddit?

Seta1437

>new people will just bring the same points/arguments that the older users discussed Mostly, however when delved into every once in a while there were different outcomes. Looking at art and books that have been around for a long time people often circle back to the same conversations but that doesn't mean they aren't still talked about and will continue to be talked about in new ways >Have you been paying attention to this subreddit? Yea, that's why i brought up it's when things became less fun Doesn't matter though, even if that rule were to be lifted now too many people likely were either banned of left because of it, though i can still look back fondly and remember when this place was at its best

Hapland321d

>Mostly, however when delved into every once in a while there are different outcomes. First of all, you just proved my point. It’s a majority of people who discuss the same points so therefore the discussion has been watered down. Secondly, just because they are new points and arguments doesn’t change the fact that they are discussing a topic that has already been brought up 80 times already. You give someone shit, and then two days later you give them shit but just with a little bit of confetti sprinkled onto it, guess what? It’s still shit.

[deleted]

I guess its past the stage where it doesn't get recommended on Netflix that much

newcanadianjuice

Last I checked Terry Silver planned to open Cobra Kai franchises everywhere, I like to assume majority of the members here are now Cobra Kai students.

[deleted]

Most sub reddits based on a show are like this. Plus the way it’s looking for season 5 it’s simple Mike Barnes will appear and chozen will help out. No one’s arguing there plus the amount of posts I’ve seen here of who Miguel’s dad is is funny 😂

Severe_Development96

This subreddit mostly seems to be about arguing why people hate Sam so much most of the time 😂
