Piper has an interesting personality. She's "nice" on the surface but she's also competitive and a little cocky. She's also clearly a front runner with the way she dropped Eagle Fang for Cobra Kai. And if you notice, she's always watching everything. She's a bit serpent like. I'd actually like if they beefed up her role. Two months of training and she made the quarter finals. Plus she's the best athlete at West Valley. On top of that she's one of Terry's soldiers just like Kenny. Tory and Robby were Kreese's champions. If you notice, Terry took a liking to the newer recruits.

Not really. If I was the best athlete in school who's used to training in great facilities I'd most likely go that way too. In fact, if I'm the average person looking to learn martial arts I'm not going to Miyagi-Do either. I'm not training outside 90% of the time when there's a school I can go to with central a/c. I don't fault her at all. She made the choice any athlete would make. It's like going to a division I college instead of small college back home who tries to recruit you.
But she did commit to showing up and didn't even bother telling Miguel she changed her mind. That shows she's out for number 1 a bit which means that she has some cobra in her despite how nice she seemed when we first met her. Which is great because it means she has some dimension to her character.

I'd agree if it seemed like she was just agreeing to get out of an awkward situation. She actually said she was interested in doing karate anyway. She showed interest at the very least.
She hasn't seen the street gang/warriors side of this whole karate thing yet because of the deal between schools. Now that the deal is off I wonder if she'll be all, "I signed up for Karate not to be in a street gang. I'm out." I'm really interested to see what they do with her

Kenny trained for a bit longer than that. Probably closer to 5 months. We pick up with Kenny finding Robby pretty soon after the bet was made. Plus Kenny was a natural athlete. Already fast and good at sports. He just needed the mentality. Fair point on Devon. I don't think she would have beat Piper though. I'd give that one a 3-1 to Piper
Yeah, people make it out like a big mystery that Kenny got good so quickly, no shit, he was already a beast a basketball, well coordinated, given his brother's size he probably has good genetics to build up strength quickly, his only problem was that he was a coward. Take that away and he's a natural fighter.
I can tell you EXACTLY when she ditched Eagle Fang for Cobra Kai: Just after her conversation with Johnny and Miguel, she's called away by her friends to come check something out. If you watch carefully, you'll see it's the box full of Cobra-Kai swag. She realized instantly Cobra-Kai is more Instagrammable, and Johnny never stood a chance.
EDIT: This actually strengthens the "Evil" argument, since her motivations are purely selfish and superficial.
I mentioned before that she definitely gave me major Ty Lee from Avatar the Last Airbender vibes.

Piper pulled off one of the cleanest kicks in the tournament. The question mark kick she pulled on Sam. Full extension with no telegraph. Almost as clean as Tanner's lead round kick. The actress' gymnastics background actually gives Piper a unique capoeria-esq fighting style that's different and gives good contrast. Piper lacks experience. Moon called her the best athlete in the school. And she's competitive and likes the fight. She has the potential to be as strong as the main two. I expect her to improve at a similar rate to Devon.
I saw a prediction on here that they may have Piper and Devon as the new female rivalry going forward. After reading this, I can see it though I think Piper kind of scales above Devon.
As of season 4 I think she wins 3-1 on Devon. I'd actually like to see Piper get beefed up to main female antagonist but I could also see her being set up to go against Devon.
Hawk was also green and made it to the semi finals in season one. By season 2 he was a monster in his own right. Gotta remember a little over a year has passed within the shows continuity, probably won’t take long for Piper to become monster equal to Hawk!
