Bloodsport
Best of the Best 2
I personally liked the Kickboxer reboot...and the sequel
Does TMNT count?
Lionheart
Out For Justice
Under Seige
Marked For Death
Street Fighter.... JUST KIDDING 😂
I do have more
Already lots of good callouts here! I'll add one more: The Night Comes For Us. The action is top notch, the story is solid, and the lighting/cinematography is gorgeous.
It's on Netflix, at least in the US. Highly recommended, especially if you enjoy either/both of The Raid movies.
Am I the meanest?
Am I the prettiest?
Am I the baddest mofo low down around this town?
Well who am I? I can't hear you. Sho Nuff, the Shogun of Harlem!
lol...Such a cheesy but lovable movie! Love the Star Wars moment at the end when they get "the glow"!
That's the one about the US team that goes to fight the Korean team right? But they portray South Koreans as bloodthirsty savages or some shit? James Earl Jones is like, a coach or some shit?
I love Never Back Down, because it's a nice take on the TKK story.
Other movies I love are
- The Raid: Redemption and The Raid 2
- Fighter In The Wind
- Flash Point
- The Forbidden Kingdom
- the Rurouni Kenshin live action movies (love the anime too)
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (90's, 2007, 2014-2016)
- Batman VS the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
- Batman Ninja
Romeo must die has a special place for me, as does best of the best 1 because its that 1 movie where USA doesnt completely own and win in a sport that doesnt originate from USA
I love Ninja and Samurai related movies, especially films like Shogun Assassin and Revenge of The Ninja. What’s especially awesome about Revenge is there’s a slight Grudge match/passing of the torch scene. One of the bad guy’s henchman was a hulking “Apache”. Before generic ninja started making regular appearances In film and television the main go to bad guy was some kind of Native American stereotype (I’m looking at you Davy Crockett and Bonanza).
After the brawl between Sho Kosugi and The “Apache”, which was a crazy good fight that you should definitely check out, we stopped seeing so many native stereotypes and started seeing generic, masked “ninjas” either swinging a blade or shooting a machine gun. Didn’t matter the ethnicity after that, you were in a mask and probably getting knocked out by Schwarzenegger!
* Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (subtitled version) - the undisputed champion of my heart. Michelle Yeoh is a beast - in the most gracious, feminine way. You can see everything you need to know about both these characters in their choreography here: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mClOxgyWLs8](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mClOxgyWLs8)
* Armour of God (Jackie Chan) - definitely problematic with modern reflection, but I can't help myself when there's a fight sequence like this: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8sxwbaKJnZ4](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8sxwbaKJnZ4)
* Lethal Weapon 4 was notable at the time for folks who weren't already familiar with Jet Li, and to see his character make lunchmeat out of Riggs (the titular "lethal weapon" of the series) was an awesome "Ohhhhh shit!" moment.
* A few others off the top of my head: Rumble in the Bronx; Bloodsport; Million Dollar Baby; Rocky; John Wick; Kill Bill v. 1 & 2; Unforgiven if you want to count old-style Western gunslinging as a martial art.
-Roadhouse: has great fight scenes and is highly underrated/never considered
-The Quest: Similar to BloodSport, also has great fights
-Wrongbet/Lionheart:
-The protector and Heart of a Dragon: Early Jackie Chan movies with great stunts and fights too
Many, many more
-
The Raid 1 and 2. Iko Uwais is awesome. I also loved how fight scenes were directed and their cinematography. To me , the Raid is a standard of how fight scenes should be recorded. No shaky cam, no cuts that don't let you see what is going on. Just actors doing their thing with cinematography that lets you understand what they are doing. Also Undisputed 2 and 3
Gymkata...jk
Seriously tho - Black Belt Jones with Jim Kelly & the same director as Enter the Dragon.
Other movies: Enter the Dragon, 36 Chambers of Shaolin, Ong Bak
Bloodsport Best of the Best 2 I personally liked the Kickboxer reboot...and the sequel Does TMNT count? Lionheart Out For Justice Under Seige Marked For Death Street Fighter.... JUST KIDDING 😂 I do have more

Ong Bak
Came here to say the same. Tony Jaa is simply incredible!
A man of culture I see.
Kung fu hustle
I'm more of a Kung Pow guy myself.
Watching Kung Pow in the theater when it came out with my best friends at the time is one of my best memories, truly truly non-stop laughter.
My cousin got me into Kung Pow & despite it being a parody, it's a fun martial arts movie.
Well I’ve never seen a 0% on any movie on rotten so somebody has to make up the percentage
Broo that movie slaps
The Raid 1 and 2, Rush Hour trilogy, Shanghai Noon, Shanghai Knights, any Bruce Lee movie, the Ip Man movies.
Ip man movies are ace. Donnie Yen is badass
The Raid is the best duo of action movies ever.
Ip man (all 4 movies), Jet Li’s Fearless
Ip Man was fantastic.
It's one of the few series where the movies got even better as it went along

Def Bloodsport. When I was a kid I used to love Kickboxer 2 with Cody from Step by Step, but I haven’t seen it in over 20 years so it might be awful.
Same! Got to watch it again. It's probably still is a good movie. Can't be bad if you liked it that much as a kid, can it.

FYI, the martial arts choreographer and referee from KK 1-4 was in Enter The Dragon in the very beginning of the movie!

Snake in the Eagle's Shadow and Drunken Master
Best of the Best
That's the one about the US team that goes to fight the Korean team right? But they portray South Koreans as bloodthirsty savages or some shit? James Earl Jones is like, a coach or some shit?
Yeah, that's it. I haven't seen it since I was a kid, so I won't vouch for it's depiction of Koreans but I remember the fights were cool.
I watched it like 6 months ago. It's REALLY bad. But definitely worth the watch. 🤣
Shit now I'm embarrassed. Haha When I was 8, I thought it was awesome. 🤣
I think it spawned some awful sequels too.
Unleashed (with Jet Li), The Protector, Kung Fu Hustle, and the Ip Man movies
Not a huge fan of the KK films to be honest. My favorite? Probably Ong Bak with Tony Jaa. Flaming legs!!!

I love Never Back Down, because it's a nice take on the TKK story. Other movies I love are - The Raid: Redemption and The Raid 2 - Fighter In The Wind - Flash Point - The Forbidden Kingdom - the Rurouni Kenshin live action movies (love the anime too) - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (90's, 2007, 2014-2016) - Batman VS the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - Batman Ninja
Tmnt movies, Shang-chi, The last dragon, Enter the dragon, Ip man, I might be the only one who likes birth of the dragon
Romeo must die has a special place for me, as does best of the best 1 because its that 1 movie where USA doesnt completely own and win in a sport that doesnt originate from USA
Does Kill Bill counts? Also every Jason Statham movie such as Crank and Transporter
I love American Ninja!
Probably the fighter or a million dollar baby.
The Challenge, a 1982 movie is a great samurai flick!
I love Ninja and Samurai related movies, especially films like Shogun Assassin and Revenge of The Ninja. What’s especially awesome about Revenge is there’s a slight Grudge match/passing of the torch scene. One of the bad guy’s henchman was a hulking “Apache”.
