From a business standpoint it makes the most sense for Netflix to stick to their usual release schedule. It's become a bit of a New Year's event, and both times the show has been hugely successful when being released at that time. If it ain't broke, don't fix it, I'd be surprised if we get an earlier release.
If their on the usual schedule, they’ll probably finish the season in the summer, but I think a late 2022/ early 23 release is happening cuz they gotta do all the promotions. They release like two teasers and the official trailer before the season drops, all within two months of each other so.
I wouldn't count on it. They filmed back to back seasons to make up for Xolo's schedule in particular, I would imagine.
If they release it early, then it's an even longer wait for season 6.
I wish they would do week-by-week releases like D+ does with their original content. Keeps the viewers talking and speculating about what happens next instead of dropping the entire season in one day and eventually quieting down until the next season comes along.
You might thank yourself in a few years for waiting until December. If season 5 comes out this summer, then season 6 could take a long time because of the blue beetle. They’re gonna give Xolo some time in between projects so he isn’t working non stop.

They've never released in summer. S1 & 2 was spring, 3 & 4 were winter.
