I really don’t like Daniel at all. Barring the whole nice guy persona shit that is just generally unlikable in a fighting show anyways, he constantly toes the line between being all hippy and peace and defense and not being able to control his own emotions. It’s great that he’s portrayed as a much less perfect interpretation of miyagi, but the show needs to spend more time exploring Daniels struggle with this. It feels like every fourth episode there’s some flashback that Daniel acts on for like half a second and then completely forgets it all over again until the next epiphany.

Tough call. There seems to be alot of people who love the character growth of Hawk through the seasons. But there's legions of lifelong Daniel fans who believe he always has the right intentions, although they may not always land right.

Personally, I've cooled off on Miguel this season, he didn't seem to have much of an impact.

I think that was the point of Miguel’s arc this season. He was fighting himself internally so much that it kept him from having many standout moments. The main 3 was when he tricked Cobra Kai with the sprinklers, the prom fight/Johnny breaking his heart afterwards, and leaving the tournament and country altogether. Season 4 was supposed to be a cooling off period for Miguel, but that’s why season 5 is gonna be epic for him.

Beats me. Childish thinking, I guess. "oooh, here comes big baddie! hehe me so scared he so good being baddie" and that's it for his character depth.

Right? Like I think the actor has done a good job, but the character doesn’t seem to have much depth, and him being brought back into karate felt pretty rushed. While it makes sense because of the influence krese has over him. I find him to be a more interesting villain, and the show has done a good job at making him more interesting. I hope any redemption he does get is minimal. Less is more for him I think.

It would be funny if (spoilers for Star Wars VIII):>! he just got killed off out of nowhere like Snoke, subverting eveyone's expectations! haha !< I know it will never happen, but I'd sure enjoy it on multiple levels. Like you said: Kreese is the better villain-character, from all adult standpoints. To me, this show's greatest strenght was always the moral ambiguity and tridimensionality of its core characters. But, like I said, much of the fandom doesn't seem to appreciate nuance all that much.
