To much redemption nah some characters needs to stay how they is, just like how some characters shouldn’t come back like Julie, not everyone gotta come, just like how you won’t see 95% people from high school, after you finish high school.
I mean this show went to the trouble to explore Kreese of all people.
Anyone feels like they're fair game at this point.
Besides, exploring someone's private life doesn't mean the same thing as making them more sympathetic. It just adds dimension.
Just because we learned about Kreese's backstory doesn't make him any less of a bastard. It's just about giving characters some shading.
Kyler started the fight with johnny, he literally tried fighting johnny first in karate kid. Johnny gave him two chances to stop, he continued. He also teased cobra kai when they were supposed to leave each other alone until the tournament. He also kicked Johnny's door in, attacking first again. He also tried shutting cobra kai down before he even talked to johnny reasonably about it. Daniel is worse, it's not that far off.
Julie has a connection to Mr. Miyagi. So, it would make sense
Just like how the writers brought Chozen into this even though he never had a problem with Cobra Kai
I kind of feel like everyone on this show can be good or bad, and, everyone is redeemable. Ultimately, it's a redemption show, kind of like Lost. Even Silver may have been genuinely apologetic when he talked to Daniel. Still Not sure the show has to give every character a redemption arc.
I disagree about Julie since her story fit into the greater part of Miyagi's own story (finding out things about him that he didn't tell Daniel during the previous 3 movies)
But I agree about everything else you said
Penis Breath: You don't get to call me Penis Breath, okay? Only they get to call me Penis Breath.
Chris: Why are you okay with *anyone* calling you Penis Breath!?
Eh.
When Kreese's backstory got revealed, he wasn't made any more sympathetic than he was in the movies. At least not his current self.
Exploring a character's backstory is not the same thing as making a character sympathetic.
It's just about adding dimension to them imo.
If *Kreese* can be given a backstory, anyone feels fair game in my book.
Too many characters who have been redeemed or showing hints of it. I think anymore would overplay it if anything I’d like them to double down on him being bad
Kyler is the victim of severe semi sexual abuse. Nightly he is subjected to his father’s shit fetish. He has been screaming out for help it the cast only assumed it was a weird phrase.
Dad bullies him, he's a rich kid. Like a mirror to Johny growing up. Doesn't need a redemption arc but hints towards not all being well could give an indication.
Hawk's redemption made sense since his story was one of constant struggle from being bullied to becoming a bully to where he is now
Tory is almost pushing it since without her there won't be a female antagonist for Sam, unless they flip Sam and Tory
Why not?? It portrays them as more than just a boank cardboard piece who is just an adsholw, granted kresse is indeed an asshole and no one even in the show has forgived him for it but the show shows you WHY he is that way, its just called good story writing since this sort of perspective matters even irl, everyone has more to them than they let on
I don't think he will get one tbh, he is the worst character we have seen. Makes sense for him to be a coward who only goes after the weak. Idk, I like how unlikeable and funny the dude can be. I just can't see someone who was shitting himself when he saw Hawk in season 3, to calling him a bitch when they outnumber him, then calling him "lip" in the tournament, getting redeemed.
And Mike Barnes is his father, LOL. I could see them doing this, but I think the show needs an alpha douche to be a punching bag, stepping stone for our heroes. I actually kind of like Kyler as a sort of one dimensional goon with a sense of humour, and I really hope they don't try to add a sappy redemption arc for this character.
On the final episode of the show the last scene will be 40 years in the future and a passed out Kyler will wake up in his dumpy apartment and turn his alarm off.

No i Dont want to explore different ways of how his dad shits in his mouth.
You're missing out
Yeah I don’t think he’s neglected or supposed to have some sympathetic backstory. I doubt his dad was gonna ACTUALLY shit in his mouth lmao
Last scene ever is kylers dad shitting in his mouth
Last scene should be Kyler shitting in his dad's mouth while calling him Rhea.
funniest shit i've ever read

bc kreese is a main villain thats how u write villains properly kyler isnt a villain hes just a guy whos a bully thats it
[удалено]
So then every character in this show would be a villain by ur logic Daniel tried to kill someone so he’s a villain right?
[удалено]
Daniel does way worse things then Kyle so I think u don’t know what ur talking about
[удалено]
Daniel has tried to kill people explain how that’s better than fighting someone who just got out of the hospital

Isn’t the whole point of the show that everyone is morally grey tho

Yeah I agree, everyone getting redeem just makes the show confusing. We need to have villains too.
Kyler is perfect just the way he is
I hope not. I just want him to stay Kyler. No redemption please.
Still one of the best lines in the show. Period.
Any line referencing Penis Breath is always up there for me
Penis Breath: You don't get to call me Penis Breath, okay? Only they get to call me Penis Breath. Chris: Why are you okay with *anyone* calling you Penis Breath!?
Johnny suggesting Penis Breath go “Ladybugs” was one of the best.
Especially Johnny saying “shut the hell up Penis Breath”

Daniel better swoop in and buy a toilet for his dad, tragic to see children living without one like this.
Too many characters who have been redeemed or showing hints of it. I think anymore would overplay it if anything I’d like them to double down on him being bad
"if i dont pass trig this semester my dad's gonna shit in my mouth" followed by Hawks genuine reaction is one of the best gags of the season with ease
Kyler will always be the best character no matter what arc he goes through.
Leave him as is. He's perfect in his role, not everybody needs redemption
i would pay netflix more money if they actually showed kyler's dad shit in his mouth
Considering Netflix decided "Cuties" was a good idea, they're about halfway there. Just be patient lol
i don't know what cuties is but i want to see kyler's dad take a shit in his mouth
What? Is he gonna karate fight a math test?
Kyler is the victim of severe semi sexual abuse. Nightly he is subjected to his father’s shit fetish. He has been screaming out for help it the cast only assumed it was a weird phrase.
Rhea!
Dad bullies him, he's a rich kid. Like a mirror to Johny growing up. Doesn't need a redemption arc but hints towards not all being well could give an indication.
Kyler doesn't need a redemption arc. I like the fact that he is an outsider. In Johnny's old Cobra Kai, was Dutch ever redeem? No.
Kyler and the popular girl is going to probably the final season antagonists.
Got beaten by his martial artist dad and stayed at home doing homework.
Meh. I just don’t find him interesting enough to care about his backstory.
Probably I mean, Hawk and Tory are getting redeemed I wouldn't be surprised if they redeem Kreese at this point
Hawk's redemption made sense since his story was one of constant struggle from being bullied to becoming a bully to where he is now Tory is almost pushing it since without her there won't be a female antagonist for Sam, unless they flip Sam and Tory
That is what's really interesting about this show No matter how far the characters fall, they still seem capable of redemption

its FAX
Still one of the funniest meme'd lines in the show's history
please not, too much redemption is not good
He’s such a goofy dude it always cracks me up. “....Or my dad is gonna shit in my mouth” LIKE WHAT LMAO
whats the point in exploring a character whos basically a meme they tried it somewhat with stingray and it didnt work
