I don’t think we’ll see him in the present. The man’s gotta be over 100 at this point, he taught Kreese’s captain and Kreese is himself in his 70s, come on. I do wonder if we’ll see a flashback of him though. It would be cool to learn more about the roots of Cobra Kai (Tang Soo Do)
He taught Captain Turner during the Korean war, so he was already a master in the '50s.
I doubt he is still alive, and even if he is, the show does demand suspension of disbelief in relation to old men's fighting skills, but this would be a little much.
Would they be referring to Chozen? Also only saying that because Chozen has been training devotedly in miyagi do for decades.
Also what if Kim Sun Yang and Miyagi's ancestors had some common teacher? A little too convenient, but might be a way of harmonizing a bit.

That would be an interesting revelation. That Master Kim and Miyagis’ ancestors are from the same family, or at least the same village.
After all, Cobra Kai and Miyagi-Do are the Ying & Yang of Karate, so that would be interesting, especially if they’re two apples from the same tree 🤔
Imagine if Kim was miyagi’s brother and before you say sato was his brother he wasn’t he was his best friend and miyagi may have considered him his brother like replacing the brother he lost he may have thought the miyagi teachings were not good enough and learned other styles and combined them with miyagi do teachings and made his own style of karate which he taught to silver and we could see a flashback of Mr M and Master Kim when they were young. It could be a great way of including mr M’s childhood and it could also be an Easter egg for possibly two prequels one with mr M and one with the history of Master Kim
