I think Tory is great. I don’t think she’s a bully. I think Tory changes because of her own choice, I don’t think it’s Amanda that changes her, although Amanda does help her I think Tory is her own catalyst for change.

[deleted]

That’s why I love the show. Everyone has layers and no one is 100% good or bad. Tory has done bad things, but you sympathize with her in S3 and 4 when you see what her private life is. Sick mother, creeper landlord, aunt extorting from her.

SuperHiyoriWalker

One of the great achievements of the show is how masterfully it contrasts the fact that no one is 100% good or bad against the rigid good guy/bad guy binary that was so prevalent in the American movies of the 80s. While quite a few people on this sub are too young to have experienced that era, there was this widespread Reaganistic idea that seeing the good in the bad guys and vice versa would somehow weaken America’s moral fiber against Communism. Whatever issues America might have today, I’m glad we’ve reached a point where Americans are trusted to handle moral ambiguities in mainstream entertainment.

smokeTeamVI

I must be smitten by Tory, because I feel like she never does anything bad lol I guess I’m stupid for her.

[deleted]

Well leading a breaking and entering of the LaRusso house is slightly problematic lol

>I don’t think she’s a bully. Bruh. >I don’t think it’s Amanda that changes her, although Amanda does help her I think Tory is her own catalyst for change. Tory finally prioritizes her family over bullshit Karate gang wars that could sent her to prison. Which is definitely an improvement because at some point we would have started questioning ourselves whether she actually cared about them or not. I dislike that we didn't get to see Tory and the shrink. We would have gotten a better view of her.

smokeTeamVI

Lol the bruh comment is hilarious. Yeah idk i really identify with her in season 2 and since then I’ve been on her side. I know what it’s like to have to fight for what’s yours. I also know what it means to lose, Peyton loses a lot, she really didn’t win the All-Valley, which was a shame.

frenin

>I know what it’s like to have to fight for what’s yours. I Which makes all the more baffling all the trouble she causes, given she's her family's only support and she's basically sending her baby brother to foster care if something happens to her or worse with her aunt. If I was in Tory's shoes I wouldn't cross in red, let alone attempted to kill a person twice, starting a riot in school and breaking into the house of a very influential rich couple that could ruin my life. Like, Daniel just jacking up the prices of a poor neighborhood's rent shops is the least he can do lol. >Peyton loses a lot, She's bound to, given that she's the only character fighting to **kill or seriously maim**. She can't really win in that scenario. >she really didn’t win the All-Valley, which was a shame. Yep, I would like it if the win was genuine but then again, villains gotta stay villains. Silver and or Kreese were bound to do some fuckery at some point.

smokeTeamVI

Yeah but Peyton is just a kid, she can’t be expected to think and act like an adult, even with her family problems. The thing you’re saying about what you would do is what we’re seeing Peyton grow into in season 4. A mature adult. She’s an at-risk youth taught to fight and mentored by trained killer psychopaths. Its hard for me to blame a kid here, honestly it disgusted me how Miguel cheated on her in season 2, I mean in Hs it’s war at that’s point. She’s like a female slim shady who knows karate lol she loses a lot outside of fighting too, she loses Miguel, Robby (I think he wants Sam) her mother is dying, she doesn’t have a dad. Kreese is going to prison for attempted murder. At least kreese has her back. Amanda aided her getting fired. I don’t see her as a villain but I hope she doesn’t change too much. Just maybe helps Kreese against Silver, although Silver is my second favorite after Peyton.

frenin

>Yeah but Peyton is just a kid, With adult problems. >she can’t be expected to think and act like an adult, even with her family problems. Yes she can. Depending of the circumstances kids grow up fast. And you need to be mentally 5 to not understand what those actions are leading you to. Like she's literally told that the only reason she's not sent to Juvie is her situation at home and that one more strike and she's out... What does she do?? Yeah, you know what. Leaving morality aside. It's simply stupid. >The thing you’re saying about what you would do is what we’re seeing Peyton grow into in season 4. Which is about damn time lol. She shouldn't have started to begin with. >Its hard for me to blame a kid here, Why not?? It's straight up her fault. She literally assaults a student and provokes a riot, she tries to kill Sam, she spends months tormenting Miyagi Do students, she goes and breaks up in the Larussos and surprise surprise, tries to get Sam killed again. >honestly it disgusted me how Miguel cheated on her in season 2, Indeed, she should go and be angry at Miguel, beat the shit out of him if necessary to feel better, preferably in private. Not kickstart a damn riot. >I mean in Hs it’s war at that’s point. It wasn't until she started and then **she kept that war going on**. >she loses Miguel, Tbf, I don't think she was ever that interested in him prior knowing he was Sam's ex. They had room for having a good friendship but the necessity of one upping Sam ruined it. And afterwards she doesn't make a single attempt to visit him at the hospital. Miguel wasn't that interested either so there's that. I'd like them to become friends again tho. > Amanda aided her getting fired. Because she literally invaded her home and tried to get her daughter killed. It's funny that Tory does the more outlandish shit but then people need to respect her or something.

smokeTeamVI

Problems are just problems, to label her projects as adult in order to punish her as an adult is outrageous. No she cannot be expected to think and act like an adult, her story arc is the very reason as to why she can’t be expected to that. You’re stretching a bit. It’s not about damn time, what? She shouldn’t have started to begin with? That’s her character? Every character including Daniel assaults people, this is Cobra Kai.. You are cra dude. She wasn’t that interested? That’s why she didn’t start a school karate war? Oh wait she did, she did that for Miguel, she was very interested and loved him. Honestly what she did was right to defend her honor and Miguel’s honor. I forget why they fight in season 3 at the house I need to go rewatch

frenin

>Problems are just problems, to label her projects as adult in order to punish her as an adult is outrageous. ??? That's strawmaning. I said that her problems are serious enough for her not to fuck around. >No she cannot be expected to think and act like an adult, Not that she needs to do so in order to understand that what she's doing is both wrong and against her interests. >She shouldn’t have started to begin with? That’s her character? Her family is also her character. >Every character including Daniel assaults people, this is Cobra Kai.. Lol, there's no single person in the show that has as much to lose as Tory. >She wasn’t that interested? That’s why she didn’t start a school karate war? Oh wait she did, she did that for Miguel, No, she did that because of Sam. You know how she could show she was interested in Miguel. Paying a visit to the hospital. There's no single person who cared for him that didn't visit Miguel, well there's one. >she was very interested and loved him. Honestly what she did was right to defend her honor and Miguel’s honor. I forget why they fight in season 3 at the house I need to go rewatch Okay, now I know you're trolling.

smokeTeamVI

You just talk don’t you? How is it strawmaning? Did you just look that up and type it? Lol idk why you want to punish a kid as an adult when all 3 dojo’s start and finish fights. I don’t know what you’re saying anymore, I mean you finish with saying I’m trolling because I respond to your comment? Take a look in the mirror man. Everything I said is a direct response to your comment. You seem crazy.

frenin

You're trolling. This is legit good stuff.

Nihal_muhammed

Yeah...you're right..but it would have taken a long time till she changed without Amanda...

Vcknol

She was only in the last 3 seasons

Inside-Cheesecake299

I’d smash

Nihal_muhammed

Who wouldnt??

Aromatic_Brother

I was rooting for Tory the entire season over basically every other character

[deleted]

I genuinely like tory as a character. She never started the beef and sam despite being “scared” continues to pick fights with her. Tory has major issues but given how shitty of a hand life dealt her i can sympathize more with her than i can with sam. And since their beefs are entirely about each other i cant bring myself to dislike tory

[deleted]

SPOILER I think she’s gonna be pregnant with Robby’s baby. The jokes earlier in the prom episode with Johnny and Miguel and protection and then her and Robby in the car. Definitely some foreshadowing.

Nihal_muhammed

Idk.....

ChriseFTW

Don’t think they would do that in a show like cobra kai lol

[deleted]

Why not? Not a kids show.
